Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
A bright light shone straight onto Jensen’s face, but he didn’t budge—just smacked his lips like he was in the middle of a good dream. "Jensen, you’re such a mess. It’s your sister’s birthday, and this is the state you’re in." I looked at his drunken, clueless face and quietly let out a breath of relief. As much of a flirt as Jensen was, he didn’t seem like the type who’d have the guts to set me up like this. There was only one person who came to mind—Yvonne, who’d just gotten into it with me. Suddenly, a loud scream rang out from the hallway. Seconds later, a rush of werewolves came storming up from downstairs, gathering right outside the room. Perfect timing. I cracked the door and slipped out, blending in with the crowd. There was no way I could be caught in the same room as Jensen. That would be impossible to explain, no matter what story I tried to spin. Before leaving, I gave him one last glance. Not even that kind of chaos was enough to wake him up. The guy was seriously out cold. The hallway was tight to begin with, and now it was completely filled with werewolves. Those who couldn’t squeeze in were lining up on the stairs. After all, at a birthday party like this, a scream out of nowhere could only mean one of two things—scandal or drama. Everyone had come running just to see what was going on. “What happened? Who screamed?” “No clue. Let’s hang around and see. Could be something juicy.” The scream had come from a room near the bend in the staircase. One of the werewolf bodyguards stepped up and kicked the door open without hesitation. Everyone crowded closer, and as soon as they saw what was inside, the hallway fell into stunned silence. Four or five male werewolves, completely naked, were wrestling with a young woman, tearing at her clothes. Her face was out of view, but what was happening was so messed up, people immediately turned away. The guests at this party were mostly teenage girls, sixteen or seventeen at most. This was way beyond anything they’d ever been exposed to. Screams filled the hallway. A few of them burst into tears. Some were holding onto each other, frozen in shock. The werewolves inside seemed to realize something was wrong and immediately scrambled to throw on their clothes. Then they tried to bolt—but the bodyguards and the crowd outside blocked every exit. And just like that, everyone’s eyes turned toward Tammy—the host of tonight’s party. She stood there in the middle of it all, trembling, eyes wide, completely overwhelmed. My chest tightened just watching her. Her parents—Alpha and Luna of Moon Pack—were out of town. Her brother Jensen was passed out drunk in a room nearby. She was just a teenager. How was she supposed to handle something like this? Then Adrian stepped forward, gently took her hand, and looked her in the eyes. Just that one touch gave her the strength to pull herself together. Tammy straightened up and addressed the crowd with a steady voice. “We’ll get to the bottom of what happened tonight. If anyone here knows anything, I encourage you to speak up now. The sooner you come clean, the better for you.” I quietly let out a breath. Now that was a real leader in action. But the biggest question still hadn’t been answered—who was the woman in the room? A few reporters in the crowd had already started snapping photos and recording video. No doubt this would be tomorrow’s front-page story. One of the werewolf bodyguards, on Tammy’s orders, went into the room and turned the girl over. She was unconscious, her pale skin covered in bruises. Thankfully, her face remained unscathed, making her instantly recognizable. “Yvonne?” A few of her close friends gasped. The photographers went wild. Starborn Pack might not have been the biggest name out there, but it definitely wasn’t small. And now their golden girl had just been found half-naked in someone else’s house, tangled up with a bunch of werewolves? Unthinkable. “Everyone, please stay calm,” Tammy said. “Let’s help Ms. Yvonne to another room so she can rest.”The crowd slowly started to break up. The men who’d been caught snuck away, looking like they wanted to disappear. But the murmurs and mocking laughter followed them all the way out. I hadn’t expected it—but the one who’d screamed had been Yvonne. And just like that, it all made sense. She’d tried to trap me—and ended up walking right into her own setup. That was the price she paid for trying to play dirty. I headed downstairs—and that’s when I saw Aiden, searching the crowd with a look of panic on his face. He came too? Smiling, I walked right over to him. The second he saw I was safe, Aiden let out a huge sigh of relief. But his relief quickly turned into frustration. “Where were you?” he snapped. “You disappeared for way too long.” I glanced around to make sure no one was listening, then leaned in and lowered my voice. “Yvonne drugged me. Luckily, I had a detox pill on me. I wanted to see where it was going, so I played along—but the server brought me to the wrong room. That’s how she ended up being the one who got caught.” Aiden stared at me for a few seconds, then gave me a sharp look and said with a scolding tone, “Don’t ever do something like that again. You scared the hell out of me.” Seeing the worry in his eyes, I grinned. “What if it really had been me in that room? What would you have done then?” He scoffed. “I’d have ripped out every last person’s eyes… then fed them to the sharks.”
