Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 17 Bitch

Early the next morning, Aiden showed up at my hospital room again. I was an Alpha–those injuries from yesterday had long healed. But I couldn't let anyone know that, so I was more than happy to stay a few extra days in this quiet hospital. After all, I wasn't the one footing the bill. "Mr. Aiden, the workaholic himself, skipping work to come check on me? I'm honestly flattered," I said cheerfully while peeling an orange. "The fruit here is surprisingly sweet. Want one?" I handed him a banana as I spoke. Aiden didn't even glance at my outstretched hand. His voice was calm and detached. "Alpha asked me to come take care of you. Don't overthink it." "Suit yourself." I pulled the banana back. "I have a question for you." Aiden pressed his lips together, then spoke after a pause. "You actually broke the Death Canyon record. How does an Omega from some small town even get into racing?" "Oh, that?" I gave a careless chuckle. "Just a way to kill time. Why do you care so much?" Aiden looked briefly stunned. As he stared at my relaxed expression, his face slowly turned serious. I ignored his expression and continued enjoying my fruit. A steady knock on the door broke the silence in the room. Taylor pushed the door open. When she saw Aiden, she froze for a moment. Then she put on a bright smile and came over to grab my hand. "You look so pale. Are you badly hurt?" She gripped my hand tightly. I smiled faintly and glanced at Aiden beside me. Ah, I see. This woman's jealousy really is something else. "I'm fine. And Ms. Blunt, no need to hold me so tightly. Someone might think you actually hate me," I said casually as I pulled my hand back, directly pointing out her petty behavior. Taylor's face flushed purple, but she still forced a smile. "I'm just worried about you. If anything happened to you, Mr. Robin would be heartbroken." I smirked. "You're not even married into Eclipse Pack yet, and you're already so concerned about the Alpha's feelings. Ms. Blunt, you're certainly... thoughtful." Being a bitch, huh? I can play that game too. "Raelyn, you don't seem to like me very much…" Taylor's voice trembled, her eyes glistening with tears. "Ms. Blunt, if you think I dislike you just based on a few words, don't you think you're a little too full of yourself?" I said, a bit exasperated. A bitch act like Taylor's really was a rare sight."I only came to visit, but I didn't expect you to be so aggressive. Maybe I'm just naturally annoying. I'll leave you alone," Taylor stood up, pretending to walk out. Aiden frowned at that and said coldly, "Raelyn, you're being too harsh. Taylor's just here to check on you." "If that's all, then it really isn't necessary. I'm not feeling well. Mr. Aiden, Ms. Blunt, please don't disturb my rest." I flat-out kicked them out. I wasn't about to take crap from either of them. "Then we'll leave you to rest, Raelyn. Take care," Aiden said when he noticed I clearly had no intention of being civil with Taylor. Taylor wasted no time clinging to Aiden's arm as they walked out together. After they left, I still couldn't calm down. Because I realized something important. Hardly anyone knew Adrian and I were heading to class that day–so how did that crazy fan know exactly where I'd be? Even the timing had been precise. If it hadn't been for my period, they probably would've succeeded. A bold idea began forming in my mind. I made a call and asked Beta Louis to interrogate that sasaeng through the werewolf police. Moments later, when I saw the name "Taylor" pop up on my phone screen, my heart sank. Just as I'd suspected—Taylor was the one pulling the strings. Again and again, Taylor. We'll see who has the last laugh.
