Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
"Raelyn, who’s she?" Adrian asked, frowning as he looked at Yvonne. I smiled faintly. "Your brother’s junior. She’s also the new director of the design department." Adrian narrowed his eyes at the display. "Tsk. What’s wrong with my brother’s taste? A design director dressed like a teenager? If I didn’t know better, I’d think he had some kind of weird fetish." Yvonne’s face turned pale in an instant, but since this was Aiden’s younger brother, she couldn’t lash out easily. She held her tongue and said pitifully, "This is just my style. Why are you being so harsh to me…" Adrian sneered. "Cut the act. You can cry in front of my brother all you want, but don’t try that soft little pretentious act with me. I’m not buying it." Yvonne couldn’t take it anymore. She didn’t even bother saying goodbye before running out of the room in tears. I looked at Adrian in surprise. "I always thought Alex was the sharpest-tongued in your family, but looks like you’re not far behind." This little punk actually had a solid sense of right and wrong—and a real knack for shutting down pretentious sluts. I had to admit, I was starting to see him in a new light. Adrian huffed. "I just can’t stand those weak, weepy little pretentious types bouncing around me." "Adrian, I really have to thank you today," I said sincerely. He smiled. "Don’t mention it. My big brother likes you, so of course I’ll back you up too." That made me freeze. "Your brother doesn’t actually like me." Adrian rolled his eyes. "Seriously, Raelyn? Are you really that blind, or are you just pretending? He’s never been this invested in anyone before. It’s the first time I’ve heard him talk about marrying someone. If that’s not love, then I’ll write my name backward." Every word Adrian said hit me like a stone to the chest. "Alright, it’s getting late. I’m heading out. Raelyn, think about it." Adrian got up and left the room. After he was gone, I couldn’t calm down. He told Adrian he wanted to marry me? Was that... true? Then why had I seen him cuddling up with that white lotus Yvonne on the street? I couldn’t make sense of it. Eventually, fatigue overwhelmed me, and I slowly closed my eyes, drifting into sleep. In my dream, I vaguely heard voices murmuring by my ear. "Move faster! She’s about to wake up—don’t let her!" "I don’t even know what this woman did to deserve this. She’s so damn beautiful, and now someone wants her kidnapped and killed, just like that. Tsk. What a waste." "You soft now? The client’s offering a million bucks. One. Million. With that kind of money, you can get all the women you want. Quit stalling and tie her up!" "Alright, alright, geez. Just let me cop a feel real quick…" I felt my body being lifted. I tried to open my eyes and see what was going on, but a cloth was pressed over my mouth. The sharp smell of chloroform shot straight up into my brain. I panicked and tried to struggle, only to find my hands and feet already bound. A handkerchief soaked in anesthetic was pressed to my nose. The double dose of sedative clouded my mind instantly. My body went limp, and I slipped into a dark, endless sleep. Aiden’s POV Day six. It was my turn again to take care of Raelyn at the hospital. I arrived early in the morning, only to find the hospital bed completely empty. Raelyn was gone, though the bedding was still warm. Something felt off. Today wasn’t her discharge date. Why wasn’t she here? Maybe she went to the bathroom? I waited another half hour. Still no sign of her. A knot formed in my stomach—something didn’t feel right. I immediately called Andrix and told him to pull the hospital’s security footage and find out where Raelyn had gone.Andrix was shocked when he heard Raelyn had disappeared and quickly went to retrieve the surveillance videos. Before long, he sent me a screenshot. It showed two people dragging a large suitcase out the front doors, clearly in a hurry. Andrix explained, "I went through three hours of footage. These two looked the most suspicious. I think they stuffed Raelyn into that suitcase and wheeled her out." I stared at the bulging suitcase, my chest tightening. "How long ago was this?" "About an hour. They left pretty recently. The footage is a bit blurry, though, so you’ll have to do some digging."
