Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 143 Taylor's Cruelty

"This knockout drug is strong. She’s still out cold. But bro, who is this woman anyway? I never heard anything about there being someone this hot in Varken Prison." "We just got out of prison three days ago. How the hell would we know?" "Still, she’s really something. Hey, why don’t we have a little fun before we kill her?" "Shut up. Look at you, acting like a damn animal. Stick to the job." "Tch, fine…" I was already awake. Hearing their exchange sent a jolt through me. The surroundings, the duct tape over my mouth—everything confirmed I’d been kidnapped. But these two either didn’t have enough experience or were overconfident. They hadn’t tied me up, and they hadn’t even taken my phone. While they were busy chatting, I quietly reached behind my back and started typing, sending out a message by feel alone. I couldn’t see my screen, but I typed as best I could, sending my location—though I had no idea who it actually went to. Once I sent it, I tucked the phone away again and kept pretending to sleep. I wanted to resist, but I quickly realized I couldn’t move. The sedative must have had wolfsbane mixed in—Freya had gone completely quiet. I didn’t even feel her presence. Right now, going up against two savage werewolves fresh out of prison wasn’t a good idea. When we finally stopped moving, I decided it was time. I pretended to wake up groggily, eyes fluttering open in confusion. "You…" "Well, hey there, sweetheart. You’re finally up. I was starting to worry the ride might’ve knocked something loose." One of the wolves leered at me and reached for my face. "No idea who you pissed off, but they want you dead bad enough to send us. Real shame—such a pretty little thing." From their conversation, it was clear they didn’t know who I was. That gave me a sliver of hope. No wonder they were being so lax. They thought I was just some ordinary girl who crossed the wrong person. If they’d known I was Raelyn, I doubt they’d have taken the job so lightly."Who sent you?" I shrank back slightly, putting on a frightened expression. "Sweetheart, that’s not something I can just tell you… But eh, whatever. You’re gonna be dead soon anyway, might as well know. Ever heard of the Midnight Pack? One of the richest and most powerful families in Varken Prison. We were hired by Ms. Taylor. No idea what you did to piss her off, but she wants you gone." "So why haven’t you killed me yet?" "We would’ve, but the lady’s got this twisted thing—insisted she wants to do it herself. She’s on her way now. Told us to wait." The guy smacked his lips, shaking his head like he couldn’t believe how ruthless Taylor was. I felt a chill run down my spine. Taylor actually wanted to kill me with her own hands? The other one, the smarter of the two, suddenly slapped his partner’s shoulder. "Quit yappin’. You’re saying way too much. We’re supposed to keep this stuff secret. What the hell’s wrong with you?" "Tch, you’re paranoid. She’s just a plain ol’ Omega. What’s she gonna do, overpower us? You worry too much." He clicked his tongue and shook his head. I stayed silent. They went back to chatting while they waited for Taylor, lounging around the abandoned garage like this was nothing. But as time dragged on, they started to get anxious. "Think something happened to the boss lady? She’s taking forever." "Shut it. Mind your own business." Just then, there was a knock on the garage door—three short, two long. Their faces lit up. One of them rushed over and opened the door. Taylor slipped in cautiously, face hidden behind glasses and a mask. When she saw me lying on the floor, filthy and helpless, a vicious smile curled across her lips. "Well, well, Raelyn. Never thought I’d see you like this." I looked at her as she pulled off her mask. "Been a while, Ms. Taylor. You look older already. And now you’ve got the nerve to kidnap me? Aren’t you worried Aiden will hate you even more?" "Hate?" Taylor sneered. "I don’t care what Aiden thinks anymore. I finally figured it out. He doesn’t love me. He’d rather love you than me. But I’m not giving up. I loved him first. I loved him more. Why should he choose you?" Her voice was shrill and twisted. She was clearly losing it. "Taylor, you’re insane." I just needed to buy a little more time. I kept her talking. "You’re the crazy one, not me." Taylor crouched next to me. When she saw my hands and feet weren’t tied, her face darkened. "Why isn’t she restrained? What if she escapes?" One of the wolves shrugged. "She’s just an Omega. She’s harmless. Didn’t seem necessary…" Taylor’s eyes turned deadly. "Tie her up. That little Omega b*tch is slippery. If she gets loose, we’re screwed." The guy found some rope in the corner of the garage and tied me up tightly, binding me hand and foot.
