Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 132 Betrayed by All

Madam Regina’s words instantly cleared my name. Aiden looked at me with guilt in his eyes. "Aiden, it was my fault. I wrongly blamed Raelyn and treated her terribly... I was wrong," Madam Regina said, holding my hand, her face full of remorse. "It’s okay. What matters now is that you focus on recovering. Once your body’s strong again, we can talk about everything else," I said gently. I had barely finished when the door suddenly swung open. "Aiden, I came to see Madam Regina—" Taylor stepped in, holding a bundle of fruit. Before she could finish her greeting, she spotted Madam Regina awake in bed. Her face went pale. "You... you’re awake?" "That’s right. Taylor, what’s with that expression? Aren’t you happy to see me awake?" Madam Regina asked with a calm smile. "Of course I’m happy. Madam Regina, this is great news, I..." Taylor stammered, unable to finish her sentence. "Relax. I know what you're afraid of," Madam Regina said calmly, taking a sip of water. "Taylor, have I not treated you well enough?" "Auntie, I..." Taylor’s tears started falling as she began to tremble. Watching her shake like a leaf, I couldn’t help but laugh. "Taylor, why don’t you just admit it? You look exhausted trying to fake it." Taylor lowered her head pitifully. "Raelyn, I really don’t know what you’re talking about. I only came to visit Madam Regina. If you don’t like it, I’ll leave. You don’t have to treat me this way." Seeing that she was trying to make an excuse to slip away, I quickly stepped in front of her. "Don’t be in such a hurry, Taylor. Why did you try to hurt Madam Regina? You said yourself she raised you. Don’t you feel even a shred of gratitude?" Her face changed drastically as she stammered, "I didn’t do it! You’re the one who pushed Madam Regina. It had nothing to do with me!" "If you’re still unwilling to come clean, then don’t expect anyone to forgive you." I turned toward the bed and gave Madam Regina a small smile. "Auntie, would you mind telling us what really happened that day?" Madam Regina looked Taylor dead in the eye. "The one who pushed me... was Taylor."Taylor staggered back and dropped to the floor, her eyes wide. "You’re accusing me? Where’s your proof?" "Proof? We have a witness right here. What more do you need?" I narrowed my eyes at her. Honestly, I had to admire her thick skin. Even now, she still dared to deny it. Taylor clenched her teeth and let out a cold laugh. "Why do you get to decide what’s true? I have a witness too. Someone who can prove I’m innocent." "Great. Go get them. And if you really can produce proof, I’ll apologize and promise never to step foot in Varken Prison for the rest of my life." I laid down the gauntlet. There was no way she could still turn things around at this point. Taylor looked between Aiden and me, then reluctantly pulled out her phone and made a call. A few minutes later, Andrix walked in wearing a white lab coat. His eyes lit up with surprise when he saw Madam Regina awake. "Mom, you’re awake?" Madam Regina gave him a warm look. "Just woke up a little while ago. What brings you here?" "Taylor called. She said you were awake, so I came to check on you." "Andrix, you’re the witness Taylor mentioned?" I asked, now more convinced than ever that the two had been working together. "Witness? What witness?" Andrix looked confused as he turned to Taylor. Taylor rushed over and grabbed his hand. "Andrix, I called you here to help prove I couldn’t have pushed Madam Regina, remember?" Andrix pulled his hand back slightly, a flicker of disgust flashing in his eyes. "Help you? Taylor, I didn’t see it happen. I don’t have any solid evidence. How am I supposed to help you?" His tone was calm, his words irrefutable. Taylor froze, staring at him in disbelief. "What are you saying? You promised me you’d always help, no matter what!" "I wouldn’t say we’re that close. Everyone knows you’ve always been into Aiden. You and I have barely spoken. Calling us childhood friends is a stretch. So why would I stick my neck out for you?"Taylor let out a shriek. "No! You conspired with me to go after Aiden and Raelyn. You can’t turn your back on me now! If you do, I’ll spill everything!" At that, Andrix’s face darkened. He glared at her and said coldly, "Do you have any proof? Taylor, false accusations come at a price." Then he yanked his arm free, and Taylor nearly fell to the floor.
