Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming

Chapter 126 The Absurd Genius Doctor

That one name was enough to shut the doctor up completely. But then he looked at me with suspicion again. “Who knows if you’re just making this up? Tempest is the most renowned healer on the continent. Why would someone like that be your master? That’s just ridiculous!” I didn’t bother arguing. I simply dialed a video call. When the call connected, an elderly man with silver-white hair and a traditional tunic appeared on screen. He looked energetic, and his eyes sparkled. “Well, well, Raelyn. You finally remembered to call me. Do you have any idea how lonely it is for this old man living all alone in a foreign land? When are you coming back? I miss you so much—” “Still losing to him downstairs at chess?” I exposed his ulterior motive without mercy. “Heh heh… Yeah. You have no idea how smug that guy is. You have to come home and knock him down a peg for me!” Since I was about to ask for a favor anyway, I gave a little smile. “In that case, how about we make a deal?” Tempest slapped his chest. “Whatever it is, I’ll do it.” I turned the camera toward Madam Regina lying in the hospital bed and said calmly, “I want you to help wake her up.” Tempest paused. “This woman… she’s sleeping?” That remark immediately darkened Aiden’s expression. I quickly stepped in, “You’re still such a joker, Master. Take a closer look. This lady is in a vegetative state. I need you to help bring her back.” Tempest chuckled. “That’s all? Such a simple case and you need me? Raelyn, you could handle this on your own.” I shook my head. “Haven’t mastered it.” “What?! After all the effort I put into teaching you? You didn’t even learn the basics? You’re breaking this old man’s heart—” Tempest pounded his chest and wailed like a stage actor. His bizarre and theatrical personality left Aiden momentarily stunned. I laughed softly. “Alright, enough with the drama. I’ll book your flight—should take you four or five hours. Get over here soon. Otherwise… don’t even think about me helping you win your chess games again.” Tempest wiped away fake tears instantly. “Fine, fine. Just saving a life, right? I’m coming… This old body of mine is going to be the death of me—all thanks to you!” After hanging up, I turned back to the nearby doctor and raised an eyebrow. “Still don’t believe me? If not, feel free to stick around. He’ll prove it himself soon enough.” The doctor’s expression had already changed to one of respectful fear. Clearly, he knew who Tempest was. He mumbled awkwardly, “No need… I, uh, I just remembered something urgent. I’ll be going now…” “Alright then. Goodbye, Doctor.” I didn’t stop him. Once he was gone, I turned my gaze to Aiden. “Aiden, my master will be here soon. Madam Regina is going to be okay.” Aiden nodded. The tension in his brow finally eased a little. After all, the name Tempest carried enormous weight across the continent. Four hours later, the eccentric old man arrived, dragging a massive suitcase behind him, worn and dusty from travel. “Where is she?” Tempest shouted the moment he walked in. I frowned. “Why are you still wearing that god-awful outfit?” Tempest looked down at his clothes and pouted. “It’s not awful! The grannies around here say it makes me look sharp. We just have different tastes.” “Enough. Put your stuff down and check the patient,” I urged him. Tempest dropped his goofy act and turned serious. He walked over and carefully examined Madam Regina. Aiden and I stood aside watching. Tempest placed his fingers on her neck, then her wrist, reading her pulse. After a long moment, he frowned at us. “What is it?” I asked. He scratched his head. “Nothing. It’s easy enough to fix—it’ll just take some time.” I rolled my eyes. “Then what’s with the frown?” “I was just thinking about how long I’ll have to stay here. That’s what’s upsetting me.” Tempest looked like he was about to cry. “I hate the smell of disinfectant. I just want to go home and play chess…” I almost lost it. My face darkened. “Master, are you going to treat her or not?” Tempest turned and opened his massive suitcase. He pulled out a large medical kit and a few dark stones. “Of course I am. Now get out—all of you. No outsiders allowed while I’m working.” Aiden’s eyes locked onto the stones, and he froze. “Witchstones?” “Smart kid. Yep. My exclusive healing method. Now move it.” Tempest shoved us both out and slammed the door. Standing in the hallway, Aiden kept anxiously staring at the room. I patted his shoulder. “Don’t worry. Tempest might sound crazy, but his medical skills are the best there is. You’ve seen me use witchstones before, right? His techniques are on an entirely different level. If anyone can save Madam Regina, it’s him.” Aiden nodded. After a moment, he turned to me and asked softly, “Are you going back to the company?” “Back to the company…” I trailed off awkwardly. The last time I left, I stormed out in anger. I hadn’t even spoken to Aiden directly. Now that he was bringing it up, it was honestly a little embarrassing. “Do you… do you still want me back?” I asked cautiously. Aiden said firmly, “The director’s position in the design department has always been waiting for you.” Seeing his sincerity, I nodded hard. “Alright. I’ll go back.”
