Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
“Alright, stop hitting him. I’m fine,” I said. Tammy finally let go. “Jensen turned out like this because no one disciplined him growing up.” Jensen looked like he was about to talk back, but Tammy shot him a glare that immediately shut him up. “Raelyn, what are you doing here?” “Nothing, just having a drink,” I said, hiccuping as I spoke. Tammy looked at me, her eyes full of sympathy. “I heard about what happened at Midnight Pack. Jensen told me. Don’t worry—I know you’re not that kind of person. I’ll stand firmly on your side.” Hearing that, I felt both touched and bitter. Even Tammy could stand by me without hesitation, but Aiden… I shook my head. Why was I thinking about him again? “Right, what are you doing here today? Aren’t you afraid of being recognized?” I looked at Tammy curiously. Jensen immediately cut in. “She’s here for that Midnight Pack heir. She follows him around like a stalker fangirl. If her fans knew that their human Barbie was acting like some obsessive creep, they’d probably all unfollow her.” “Adrian?” The moment I said the name, Tammy’s face flushed red. “Alright then. Why’d you follow him all the way here?” Tammy shifted awkwardly, not knowing how to answer. Jensen, clearly fed up, spoke up. “It’s my birthday today. I invited him. But, y’know, I’ve got a lot of female friends, and she was worried some other girl might snatch him away, so she tagged along.” “Shut up! Don’t talk nonsense! Who said I was worried?” Tammy blurted, cheeks burning. Clearly, he’d hit the nail on the head. I couldn’t help but laugh. “Alright, let’s head back. Raelyn, want to come with us?” Jensen, apparently already forgetting his earlier sleazy behavior, actually invited me along. “I’ll pass. You two go have fun,” I said, shaking my head. Jensen shrugged and turned to leave.Tammy tugged my hand. “Raelyn, I know that after what happened, you must be feeling awful. Don’t worry. The truth will come out, and your name will be cleared.” “I know,” I nodded. “Since I snuck out anyway and don’t feel like sitting with the others, why don’t we go sit somewhere nearby and chat for a bit?” Tammy looked at me expectantly. I was about to decline when my phone rang. It was Jackson. He said something urgent came up at work and he couldn’t stay to drink with me. “See? Your friend can’t hang out. So just stay with me instead!” Tammy grabbed my hand and dragged me to a nearby table. Then she rested her chin on her palm and stared dreamily at Adrian, who was sitting in the shadows. “Tammy, why do you like Adrian?” I’d always been curious. Someone as proud as Tammy falling for someone as hot-tempered as Adrian? The first time I met Adrian, he’d said things that nearly made me choke. “Huh? Me?” Tammy’s gaze turned dreamy. “It wasn’t when he saved me that time. I actually met him way earlier.” I was surprised. “I first met him the year before last. I was fifteen, hadn’t debuted yet, and was still a trainee at the company. I was bad at dancing, always getting scolded by instructors, and my body was covered in bruises. When it got too hard, I’d sneak out to cry by the lake behind the building.” She kept staring at Adrian as she spoke, caught up in her memories. “That’s when I met him. He was sixteen. Funny thing—his high school was right next to our company. One day, I was crying, and he happened to see me.” My imagination filled in the rest. “And then he comforted you, and you fell for him?” Tammy burst into laughter. “No! He thought I was going to jump in and kill myself! He ran over and grabbed me, but the lakeside was slippery and we both fell in. He pulled me out and then scolded me. But I thought he was adorable.” I couldn’t help but laugh too. This kind of quirky story really fit the two of them. “What happened after that?”Tammy leaned her chin on her hands, still lost in thought. “After that, he just left. He told me not to give up on life and to keep going. I didn’t even know his name. Then, the last time he saved me again—I realized I’d already fallen for him. Raelyn, don’t you think this is destiny? The Moon Goddess must’ve planned this all along. Hmph, this time he’s not escaping me.”
