Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
Raelyn’s POV Adam had the biggest reaction. He couldn’t hold back and asked, “Raelyn, you really like Aiden?” Seeing how upset he looked, I smiled. “What’s wrong?” “I was the one who noticed you first. How could you fall for Aiden?” Adam frowned. “And my brother too—I asked him before, and he said he didn’t even—” “Adam, are you upset your career has gone too smoothly?” Aiden’s eyes darkened with anger. Adam shrank back a little. “You’re threatening me again? Fine, then I’ll quit. I don’t even care about being a star.” “Great. Then come work at the company. Bulgaria’s branch needs a tech director. You can take that role.” Adam’s face went pale. “I don’t want to go there… Just let someone else take it. Actually, being a celebrity isn’t so bad after all.” Noticing how Aiden kept staring at me, Adam gritted his teeth and added, “As for Raelyn, even if she likes you, I’m not giving up that easily. Raelyn, if you ever get mistreated here, just tell me. I’ll take you away anytime.” “You really like being a backup?” Aiden’s tone turned dangerous, his aura intensifying by the second. Seeing his older brother’s murderous glare, Adam finally backed down and lowered his head. “I was just joking, okay…” I couldn’t help laughing. Adam, with that deadly charm of his, could only be kept in check by Aiden. No one said anything else after that. I hadn’t expected my relationship with Aiden to be revealed like this. Looking at Aiden, I felt a warm surge in my chest. Would the Moon Goddess bless us? The next morning, I had just gotten out of bed when I heard Taylor’s voice downstairs. I sighed. Even after being rejected like that, this pretentious slut still had the nerve to show up. What excuse was she using this time?As I walked downstairs, Taylor spotted me and immediately launched into her usual fake sweet talk. “Raelyn, you’re up?” I had to admit, for someone who’d already had a massive falling out with me, Taylor still managed to pretend nothing had happened and greet me like we were best friends. “Only Miss Taylor could act like we’re close after things have gotten so ugly between us.” I stretched lazily and cut her off. “If there’s nothing else, I’m going back to bed.” I turned to head upstairs, but Madam Regina’s voice stopped me. “Raelyn, I need to speak with you.” She started walking up the stairs as she spoke, and Taylor followed her with that obedient look plastered on her face. “Raelyn, I really do like you. You’re smart, beautiful, and every werewolf’s eyes are on you. But why do you insist on clinging to Aiden… I’m just hoping you’ll be sensible and leave him. That way, we can still get along. Don’t worry, all of Midnight Pack’s sons are excellent. Aside from Aiden, you can pick any one of them. If not, I can introduce you to the heirs of other noble packs. I promise, you won’t be shortchanged.” She stared at me, waiting for a reaction. As Midnight Pack’s Luna, she was clearly trying her best to persuade me and even made offers. That was already more courtesy than most would’ve shown. But I’ve never liked being controlled—especially when it comes to love. I stepped back and smiled. “Madam Regina, I think I’ve made myself clear. Who Aiden ends up with isn’t up to me, and it certainly isn’t up to you either. Who he mates with is between him and the Moon Goddess.” Her face finally darkened. She raised her hand, clearly about to slap me. But I’d been expecting it and dodged easily. Madam Regina had swung too hard. Off balance, she screamed as she stumbled forward. Seeing she was about to tumble down the stairs, I quickly reached out and grabbed her wrist. “Hold on tight!” She was still Midnight Pack’s Luna—I couldn’t just watch her fall and get hurt. Clutching my hand in panic, she tried to steady herself. But then Taylor stepped forward and placed her hands on my shoulders.I thought she was coming to help. Instead, she suddenly shoved me hard. “Die…” I heard her cold, whispery voice—and the force of her push broke my grip. Madam Regina slipped from my grasp and went tumbling down the stairs, screaming the whole way. At the same time, Taylor let out a sharp scream of her own. “Ahhh—!”
