Alpha Raelyn: The Alpha They Never Saw Coming
That night after dinner, I waited until everyone from the Midnight Pack was present before pulling the DNA test results out of my bag. “Madam Regina, there’s something we need to clear up.” I placed the report in front of her and said calmly, “There’s no blood relation between Robin and me. I had a test done between Aiden and me to make it clear to you that my mother had nothing to do with Robin.” Aiden didn’t speak. He just sat quietly, watching me. “Hah… who knows if you tampered with that report.” Madam Regina still refused to admit anything. What I didn’t expect was Andrix stepping in to defend me. “Mom, you should look at it. What if you really misunderstood her? Wouldn’t that be unfair to Raelyn?” Madam Regina shot him a glare, her face growing darker. Adam, naturally on my side, added, “Mom, don’t go accusing Raelyn without proof. There’s no way she’s Dad’s daughter.” Adrian chimed in, “Yeah, Mom. Raelyn’s mother definitely isn’t that kind of person.” Alex didn’t speak up for me, but judging by his expression, it was clear he thought Madam Regina was being unreasonable. After all, this was a reality the entire Midnight Pack would struggle to accept. I looked straight at Madam Regina and said firmly, “My mom was the kindest, most honest person in the world. She’s missing now and doesn’t deserve to be slandered like this. I hope you’ll take this seriously.” With that, I slid the test results closer to her. Seeing that, Madam Regina couldn’t keep making a scene. She picked up the report and flipped through it. By the time she reached the last page, her face had turned from pale to green. She let out a sharp snort and finally closed the report. I stared at her and asked, “Well? Isn’t it just like I said? There’s no way I’m related to Robin by blood.” Madam Regina couldn’t meet my eyes. She mumbled, “Yes… But so what? Robin liked your mother. That’s a fact. Even if you’re not his biological daughter, that history is still there. How can you even think about being with Aiden?”Andrix’s POV When I heard what Mom said, I froze. That’s impossible. I clearly remember swapping the samples last time. The results should have shown a blood relation. Raelyn couldn’t have had the time or reason to run a second test. So, how could this result show no connection? A bold thought suddenly struck me. Could it be… that either Aiden or I isn’t actually a descendant of Midnight Pack? A cold sweat crept down my spine. If Aiden isn’t part of the Midnight Pack by blood, he’ll never be able to recover from that. But what if it’s me? My heart began pounding wildly. I’d worked so hard, climbed step by step to where I am now. If I married Raelyn, I’d be the future Alpha of Midnight Pack. This secret must never come out. If anyone finds out, everything I’ve worked for will be destroyed. Thinking that, I stepped in to smooth things over. “Mom, it’s okay. Raelyn’s already engaged to Midnight Pack. She’s going to marry into the family eventually. If you say stuff like this, then none of us five brothers should be allowed to mate with her, right?” Hearing that, Mom realized she’d misspoken. She let out a sigh. “Raelyn, I’m sure you understand what I mean. I’m not saying you can’t be involved with Midnight Pack. It’s just that Aiden’s mate was supposed to be Taylor. You suddenly coming into the picture like this—it’s not good for anyone. You’re a smart girl. I’m sure you get what I’m saying.” Raelyn gave a light laugh. “What century do you think we’re living in? If you really believe Taylor is your ideal Luna, why don’t you ask Aiden? See for yourself whether he chooses me or Taylor.” Everyone was stunned. Even I was shocked. Raelyn had just confessed to Aiden in front of all of us? Mom was shaking with rage. She pointed at Raelyn but couldn’t even get the words out. “Mom, stop. I love Raelyn. It’s always been Raelyn,” Aiden said at just the right moment.Raelyn stayed composed, but I noticed the tips of her ears had turned a little red. “I’ll never agree to you two being together. I don’t care what any of you say!” Mom suddenly stood up. “I should’ve never agreed to let Raelyn come to Midnight Pack. If it weren’t for her, none of you would be ignoring me like this!” With that, she stormed upstairs alone, leaving the rest of us staring at each other in silence.
