She Wore Many Masks, and Ruled Them All
Shawn leapt forward, his voice trembling with excitement. “Sloane is your real daughter! Dania switched the DNA test results! Dr. Grayson secretly kept the real report—here, look!” He fumbled with his bag, pulling out a thick envelope and spilling its contents across the table. Beth’s hands shook as she picked up the faded DNA report. The moment her eyes landed on the words “Parent–child relationship: 99.99%”, tears streamed uncontrollably down her cheeks. “If you still don’t believe it, we can do another test…” Sloane twisted her fingers nervously, but before she could finish— Beth rushed forward and pulled Sloane into a fierce embrace. “No need for a test! I believe it!” Her tears soaked through Sloane’s collar. “From the first time I saw you, I felt something… something deep inside. It was a mother’s heart recognizing her child…” Tony staggered toward them, his hands trembling as he cupped Sloane’s face. “You are… our daughter,” he choked out. “Our most precious treasure…”Held tightly in her parents’ arms, Sloane sobbed uncontrollably. Beth gently cradled her daughter’s face, studying her features through tears. “Let me look at you… my poor child…” Shawn wiped his own tears on the side. “Finally… our family is whole again…” Lucas stood quietly nearby, watching the emotional reunion. In his heart, he swore to protect Sloane’s smile for the rest of his life. Beth suddenly rose to her feet, still gripping Sloane’s hands tightly. “Let’s go home! Right now!” Her voice quivered with emotion. “I’ll make up for all the years I wasn’t there for you!” Tony was already pulling out his phone. “I’ll have the jet ready within the hour. Shawn, contact Stonebridge’s top jeweler and hold their entire new collection.” His voice broke slightly as he looked at Sloane. “Our daughter deserves the very best.” Shawn jumped in eagerly. “Uncle Tony, what about your seaside villa—” “It’s hers!” Tony said without hesitation. “And the vineyard overseas, and the yacht—everything!” Beth gasped as another thought struck her. “And clothes, and jewelry—only the finest. I’ve dreamed of dressing you up my whole life…” She stroked Sloane’s face, tears of joy spilling once more. Sloane hugged her gently. “Mom, we should be happy now.” “Yes… happy…” Beth tried to smile through her tears, but they just wouldn’t stop. “Say it again,” Beth whispered, eyes shining. “Call me again.” “Mom!” Sloane’s voice rang out sweet and clear, like morning dew sparkling in sunlight. Beth broke down completely, laughing through her tears as she cupped her daughter’s cheeks. “Ah, my sweet, beautiful girl!” Tony rubbed his hands anxiously beside them. “Sloane, won’t you call me Dad too?” “Dad!” Sloane turned and threw herself into Tony’s arms. The powerful businessman who once commanded empires now held his daughter like something fragile and precious, laughing and crying at once. “I'm here… I will always be here…” Shawn sidled over, pretending to pout. “Hey, what about your big brother?” Sloane giggled through her tears. “Shawn’s the best!” Shawn puffed out his chest proudly and shot Lucas a triumphant look, eyebrows raised in victory.
