Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog
Bang! Bang! Bang! Braxton kept kicking the door with all his might. Olivia watched the door shake and gripped the nail gun tightly, her palms slick with sweat. She had to get him with the first shot. If she didn't stop him right away and he managed to grab the nail gun, she'd be in big trouble. She was super focused but suddenly had a flash of inspiration. She yelled as loudly as she could. "Natalie, wake up! That guy from the eighth floor is here again!" The banging stopped instantly. Braxton froze in confusion. What is going on? Natalie is actually sleeping at Olivia's place? His mind raced. Why would Natalie spend the night at someone else's place ... ? Maybe she guessed he would come for revenge and came to protect Olivia. Or maybe Olivia was just bluffing, trying to scare him away? He was paralyzed by all the thoughts spinning in his head. He just couldn't help it—Natalie had left him with serious trauma. After all the times they fought, he'd never won, and every single time, things had gotten even worse for him. Olivia heard the silence outside and realized her gamble had paid off. Ha! Bet you didn't see that coming. Seemed like he was really afraid of Natalie. She still remembered earlier that day—he was just about to attack her, but the second Natalie opened the door, he ran home like his life depended on it. That just showed how much Natalie scared him. Seeing that he was still outside, Olivia decided to go even further. She called out again, "Natalie, are you awake? Come here, he's right outside the door!" While she shouted, she quietly backed away toward the bedroom. Then she made her footsteps louder, pretending to be Natalie walking to the door. She reached the entryway, put her hand on the doorknob, and slowly turned it. This was her gamble. She decided to gamble on him not having the nerve to stay behind. If he were still there, she'd shoot. She'd kill that jerk with her nail gun! She gripped the nail gun tightly with her other hand and nervously opened the door.Outside, Braxton was having a mental meltdown after hearing Olivia call out and then hearing footsteps getting closer. Is it really Natalie? Suddenly, the door creaked open, and a nail whizzed past his cheek. His eyes went wide with fear. It really is Natalie! It's her nail gun! Braxton didn't even dare look back. He spun around and bolted down the stairs as fast as he could. Olivia grinned. She had gambled right. She raised her arm and fired another shot at his back. Too bad her aim was off—she only grazed his ear, but Braxton was already flying down the stairs. Guess she needed to practice her shooting more, starting from tomorrow. No point in having a weapon if she couldn't even use it well.Once his figure disappeared, Olivia locked the door and went back to bed. She had thought it would be a huge showdown, but the guy got scared off in no time and ran away. Meanwhile, Braxton sprinted home as fast as he could, collapsed onto his couch, and started bawling. He was beyond miserable. Absolutely miserable! He cried so hard he could barely breathe, and he ended up passing out from exhaustion. The next morning, Braxton woke up hungry, and he made up his mind through gritted teeth. If Olivia had Natalie on her side, he'd better not mess with her again. If Natalie decided to get revenge, he'd be doomed. Braxton nudged Tiffany awake."You stay here and don't go wandering. I'm going out." With that, he left the house by himself. Tiffany just tilted her head and stared blankly at his lonely figure as he left. ... Natalie was in a great mood after dealing with Braxton and Tiffany. But she still felt the effects of the knockout drug she'd inhaled—it made her dizzy sometimes. Perfectionist as she was, Natalie couldn't stand the idea of any weakness in her strong body. She absolutely hated feeling dizzy! If she couldn't fix it, she'd be no better than Tiffany. Olivia couldn't believe her ears when she heard Natalie's theory. Of course, there was a difference between them. Big difference, actually! Who would've thought Natalie—who was so fierce in a fight—would be so obsessed with staying healthy? After checking her over, Olivia thought the best treatment would be needle therapy to balance her body and help remove the toxins. But Olivia was actually a surgeon trained in Western medicine. She liked traditional medicine, but she only knew a little about needle therapy. She needed to study more before trying it on Natalie. So, Natalie had to settle for calming and detox pills for now, while Olivia hit the medical books, trying out needle therapy on herself and studying pressure points. Luckily, Natalie had a solid foundation, and she had always kept herself fit with Pilates, yoga, and other wellness routines. She was so healthy that her daily life hadn't really been affected.
