Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog
"Rosalie! Think about Natalie!" Rosalie froze when she heard Natalie's name. Seeing it worked, Lillian pressed on. "Think of Natalie! How happy would she be if you died?" "Natalie ... Natalie ... " Rosalie muttered, then suddenly went limp and crashed back on the bed. She didn't mention suicide again. At first, she mumbled, confused. Then she suddenly gritted her teeth and shouted, "It's all Natalie's fault! All of this is because of her! "If she hadn't stolen from our house, we wouldn't have left home and ended up here!" She finally had someone to blame for her pain and anger, and she cursed Natalie viciously. Lillian watched her scream and rant, getting more worked up until she was almost choking. She quickly tried to calm her. "Rosalie, don't worry. Natalie's not doing so great either." Hearing that, Rosalie seemed to remember something. "Those bastards went to fight Natalie today, right?!" Lillian nodded. Rosalie lit up. "Great! I hope they kill her! Beat that bitch to death!" But her joy didn't last. Soon, she frowned. "But can they beat her? I heard half their people already died at Natalie's hands before." She slammed the bed. "Why is that bitch so strong?!" In Rosalie's mind, Natalie had never lost. Never. It was like God was always on her side. The rich family's daughter, loved openly by her father, was kicked out but ended up with the strongest group in Hillside Villa District and moved back in ... All these years, it felt like Rosalie was always the one who suffered, while that bitch lived the good life. Thinking about Natalie being pampered by Cassian in a fancy villa while she was getting raped by scumbags in this hellhole made Rosalie go insane with rage. She rolled her eyes so hard she looked like she might pass out. Lillian hurried to calm her down. "Don't worry. Those guys lost before because they didn't know Natalie had a gun. They underestimated her. This time, they're prepared. They'll win." She said that, but deep down, she hoped for something else. She wanted to see Natalie suffer, or even die, but after living through hell with the Grayhound Sect, she kinda hoped Natalie would win. Maybe she'd wipe out these Grayhound bastards, and she and Rosalie could finally escape. "Rosalie, be strong. Don't give up. Whatever happens today, you'll like the result." Rosalie's mind was foggy from all the abuse. She didn't get it and just stared at her mom blankly. Lillian explained, "If Natalie takes out the Grayhound Sect, we're free! If they win, you'll see Natalie here soon." She paused, then added, "Everything we went through, she'll go through it, too." Rosalie's face lit up, and she laughed, like she'd lost it. "Hahaha! Why didn't I think of that?! "You're right! I can't die yet. I'll stay here and wait to see that bitch!"She didn't seem to care about the Grayhound Sect being wiped out or being rescued. All she wanted was for Natalie to suffer in this hell with her. Seeing her daughter regain some spirit and stop talking about dying, Lillian relaxed and lay back on the bed, staring at the door. The lock on this room's door wasn't strong; in fact, it was practically unlocked. There was just a rope tied to the outside handle, hooked onto a nail in the wall. A hard kick would break it open. They locked it so carelessly because those bastards weren't afraid of them escaping. What really kept them trapped wasn't the little room; it was the armed guards in the hallway and the two heavy iron doors at the stairwell. To escape the labor camp, you'd have to take out the guards in the hallway, then open those doors to the stairs. Only then could you get out. The camp was full of weak women. Pulling that off was basically impossible. If they just left the room, they wouldn't escape—they'd just get tortured by those devil guards. Lillian sighed. She didn't feel the same as her daughter. She hoped Natalie would win, hoped they'd be rescued. But she knew the odds were slim.
