Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog
The older woman quickly put her arms around the younger one's shoulders in an effort to calm her down. "Darling, don't be angry." Then, she turned toward Natalie. "Natalie, how dare you return even after being thrown out of the house?" Hearing this, Natalie realized that they were bent on causing trouble. She ignored them and continued to work on fixing the outer wall. Although this villa wasn't as rundown as her place in Maplecourt, there was still some damage left behind by the acid rain. As such, Natalie had mixed some cement and was carefully filling in the cracks. After all, she was going to be living here. Even if it wasn't pretty, she had to make sure it was safe and warm. Seeing that they were being ignored, the younger woman trembled with anger. She pointed at Natalie. "How did you get in here? How dare you stay here like this! I, Saniya, have never seen someone as shameless as you!" Hearing her name, Natalie finally had an impression of her. Saniya Bolton was the daughter of the Boltons, and they had been neighbors. They were close in age, so they had played together when they were young. However, Saniya had stolen one of Natalie's favorite bracelets. After that incident, they had stopped hanging out together. Natalie gave her a faint smile, finally responding, "Oh, it's you. The thief. It's been a long time, I didn't recognize you." Saniya was furious. "You ... !" Saniya's mother, Isabelle Bolton, quickly held Saniya back while scolding Natalie. "What nonsense are you saying! How rude!" Natalie turned to look at her. "Mrs. Bolton, who's the rude one here? You and your daughter are the ones barging into someone else's house to yell at the homeowner." Isabelle's eyes widened in anger. "How is this your house? This is the Patels' empty place! You're the Ashfords' daughter, and you were kicked out two years ago!" Natalie couldn't be bothered with them and continued her work on the wall. Saniya was burning with anger. With nowhere to vent her anger, she stomped her feet as she asked, "Why are you still so damn arrogant after so many years? Tell me! How did you get in here?" Saniya had an old grudge with Natalie. Both of them had studied at the same elementary school and had both lived in the Hillside Villa District. As such, they had often played together when they were young. However, as time went on, Saniya started to get jealous of Natalie. Natalie was always more popular, and her family's business was also doing well. Natalie's mother was involved in their family business, while her own mother only knew how to play cards. Isabelle would always be in a horrible mood after returning home from Natalie's place. Whatever it was, to Saniya, Natalie was like a huge obstacle that overshadowed her in every aspect. Once, Saniya had gone to Natalie's house to play and had noticed a limited edition bracelet that Natalie's father had given her. She really liked that bracelet, but she had been unable to get it. In jealousy, she had stolen Natalie's new bracelet and brought it home with her. Of course, it wasn't long before she was found out. Ever since that incident, Saniya had never been invited over to Natalie's place again. Her mother had also become the butt of jokes. This had lasted for many years until she had gone overseas to study. That was when things had started to become better. When she returned from her studies overseas, Saniya heard from her mother that Natalie's mother had passed away from an illness and Natalie had been kicked out of the house. She had been overjoyed to hear this. Now, seeing Natalie back again, Saniya was extremely upset. She spat, "Natalie, even your own father doesn't want you! Can you see how hateful you are? How dare you come back?" Natalie paused. She turned, staring directly at Saniya. "What did I do wrong? Why can't I come back?" After a short silence, Natalie added, "I've never stolen from anyone before." "You!" Saniya gritted her teeth. Natalie had hit her where it hurt the most. Isabelle quickly spoke, "You were kicked out of Hillside Villa. How dare you come back? Who let you in?" Natalie scoffed. "Jacob kicked me out of the family. What, does the entire Hillside Villa belong to the Ashfords now?" Isabelle was stunned for a moment before she continued, "Even if it doesn't belong to the Ashfords, all of us are part of this community! Without our permission, you cannot enter this place or anyone else's house!" Natalie put down her tools. She entered her house and took her assault rifle. Then, she pointed the gun at both of them. "Tell me then, who has a problem with it?" Natalie knew that it wasn't just the two of them. Others from surrounding villas were definitely watching what was happening as well.If she didn't handle this now, they would have another mess to deal with later. Looking at the gun in her hand, the blood drained from Saniya's face. She immediately hid behind her mother. "Mom, she has a gun!" Isabelle scoffed. "It's just a toy rifle! What's the big deal? Your father has one in his study, too." Saniya shrank back. "Are you sure it's not real? It looks real to me ... "
