Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog

Chapter 323 Forever

Cassian nodded. "Be careful, then. Don't tire yourself out too much." Natalie woke up early the next morning to find that Cassian had already left. Even so, he'd left some breakfast on the table. "He left so early?" Natalie muttered to herself. Natalie freshened up and sat alone at the table, eating leisurely. She had just finished eating when Cassian suddenly walked in. Natalie looked at him, confused. "You finished already?" Cassian handed her a key. "I haven't gone yet." Natalie was even more confused now. "You haven't gone? Then where did you go..." She glanced at the key in her hand before she realized. "Did you go get a car for me? Cassian nodded. "Yeah, I got a truck. It's parked downstairs." After a short pause, he asked thoughtfully, "Can you drive it? If you can't, I'll ask Roderick to drive you." Natalie quickly waved. "I can drive it. Take Roderick with you and do what you need to do." As she spoke, she felt a warmth spread in her heart. Cassian was busy, yet he had woken up early just to get her a truck and had even prepared breakfast. She had woken up this morning to find that Cassian had arranged everything nicely for her. Cassian smiled at her. "What's that look for?" Natalie reached out to hug him. "I'm just touched."Cassian laughed and returned the hug. "How are you going to thank me, then?" Natalie raised her eyebrows. "You want something in return?" Without hesitation, Cassian responded, "Of course." Natalie asked, "What do you want, then?" Almost as if he were prepared for this moment, Cassian hugged her tighter and answered, "Stay by my side forever." Natalie froze for a second. Cassian looked unhappy. "Is that a hard thing to do?" Natalie answered, "Not really ... " Cassian didn't say anything. He merely lowered his head, looking at her seriously. Natalie met his gaze. "I just wondered who you would be saying this to, if we hadn't met each other." Cassian raised an eyebrow. "How is that possible?" Natalie leaned into his arms, her thoughts far away. If she hadn't had a second chance at life, they would never have met. In her past life, she had travelled thousands of miles to Hillside Villa, only to be turned away by her horrible father. At that time, she had spotted Cassian's fancy villa from a distance. However, she had never actually met him. They had been strangers, and she had died full of regrets. Seeing Natalie fall silent, Cassian thought she was musing over his answer to her question. He spoke seriously, "If we never met, I would be alone all my life, waiting to meet you."Natalie didn't believe him. "What if we never met at all for the rest of your life? You wouldn't look for anyone else? Without hesitation, Cassian said, "Of course I wouldn't." Natalie was surprised. "What?" Cassian explained, "I was alone for 28 years before I met you." Full of sincerity, Cassian looked at Natalie. "I like you, because you are you. I didn't fall for you out of convenience because I wanted someone." Natalie hadn't fully processed what he had said. "Even so, you can't ... " Cassian flipped the question. "So, if you hadn't met me, would you be dating someone else?" Natalie thought, Of course not. Natalie hadn't dated anyone in her past life. After her rebirth, she had been even less interested in romance and just wanted to live her life well. Meeting Cassian and falling for him was something she hadn't planned for. She immediately understood what Cassian meant. However, seeing how serious he was, she couldn't help teasing him, "Of course. If I didn't meet you, I'd be dating someone else." Cassian narrowed his eyes. "Say that again?" Sensing danger, Natalie was reminded of what had happened the previous night. She immediately backed down, "I'm kidding." Cassian snorted. "Don't joke around about such things." Natalie quickly escaped from him. "I'd better go! I need to start moving my things!" She turned back again to look at him. "Aren't you going yet?" Cassian glanced at his watch. "I'm going now."After a short pause, he added, "Be safe." Natalie slung her assault rifle over her shoulder and said, "Don't worry." She thought for a moment before tossing him a rifle as well. "You be safe too." Cassian caught the gun and slung it across his shoulder as well. "Don't worry." After Cassian left, Natalie waved her hand, keeping most of her supplies in the storage space, except for some of the lighter things. She took whatever was left and moved it onto the truck. Very quickly, Apartment 1402 was emptied out. Cash and Baron were anxiously pacing around behind Natalie. Natalie soothed them, "Don't worry. We're moving to somewhere better." Lucky, who had experienced much more, quickly trotted over and smacked Cash and Baron on the head. Stop it! Don't you want to move to a bigger place? The two of them instantly quieted down and watched Natalie take down the door. Natalie wasn't about to leave anything behind. She was going to take the bulletproof glass and blast-proof armored door to her new place. After moving all her stuff, she brought her pets onto the truck as well. Seeing that she still had a lot of space in the truck, she drove to Olivia's place and knocked on the door.
