Shining Through the Chaos with My Bulldog
The three of them exchanged looks, said goodbye to the couple, and got into their car to leave. As they headed back, Olivia was in an obviously good mood. She liked the house, the neighbors, and even the environment as a whole. "Nat, Harold, I'm actually looking forward to moving into this place." Natalie smiled as she continued driving. "Don't worry, we'll move tomorrow." Olivia was surprised. "That soon?" Harold chimed in, "Since we've decided on it, of course, the sooner we move, the better." Olivia nodded. "That's true. Otherwise, it would be such a waste if someone beats us to it." Harold responded, "That won't happen. Hillside Villa is still pretty quiet. It's just that the place we're staying at is becoming dangerous, so we should move quickly." The three of them reached their neighborhood and went to their respective homes. As soon as Natalie walked in the door, her three pets pounced at her. She petted them one at a time, taking a deep breath as she walked into the house. "Something smells amazing!" Cassian walked out of the kitchen carrying a plate of food. "Dinner's ready." As he spoke, he studied Natalie carefully. "Why are you so late today? Is everything alright?" Natalie nodded. "Yeah, all good." The two of them sat at the table, and Natalie said, "I went to look at a house today." Cassian froze. "What house?"Natalie joked, "I'm moving out to stay on my own." Cassian fell silent for a moment before he spoke again, "What do you mean?" Natalie answered, "You stay here with these three. I'll stay on my own." Cassian rolled his eyes at her. "Don't say such nonsense." Natalie, however, continued, "I'm serious! The four of you don't know how to leave me alone. I want to stay on my own for a while." Cassian stared at her for a few seconds before he put his fork down. "Stop eating." Confused, Natalie responded, "What?" Cassian carried her into his arms. "Someone needs to be taught a lesson." After saying that, he tossed her onto the couch before leaning in towards her. Seeing Cassian's handsome face inching closer towards her, Natalie realized she had gone a little too far. She quickly pushed him away. "I was kidding! Get off me!" However, Cassian ignored her. Natalie's cheeks flushed, adding, "I'm sorry! Seriously, stop it. The food's getting cold." Cassian smirked. "Too late." Two minutes later, Cassian looked at Natalie, looking like he was ready to pounce on her at any time. "So, do you still want to live on your own?" Natalie quickly shook her head, "No." Natalie felt Cassian still had a dangerous look in his eye. Left with no choice, she spoke in a pitiful tone, "Cassian, I'm hungry. I want to eat." Cassian hesitated and finally let her go. Natalie quickly got up and almost ran, escaping to the table. Both of them sat down at the table again. This time, Natalie didn't dare to joke around anymore and said seriously, "This building is quite damaged already. I went with Olivia and Harold today to Hillside Villa to check it out. We plan to move there." After a moment of thought, Cassian spoke, "That area is indeed safer." Then, he added, "Why are you looking for another place to stay? You should just move in with me." Natalie pursed her lips slightly. "I'm not living off a man." Cassian glanced at her, trying not to laugh. "Then, I'll live off you. I don't mind." Natalie laughed. "Alright, I'll take care of you." Cassian scooped some food onto Natalie's plate. "You're the head of the house now. Make sure you eat more." Both of them ate, finishing up the food happily, before starting to pack Natalie's things. Cassian looked at everything in the house and said, "I'll get a truck. Then, we can move everything within a trip or two. We won't have to run back and forth then." Natalie thought, If not for you, everything would be so much faster. I'll just move everything into the storage space. Thinking of this, Natalie asked, "You've finished with whatever you needed to take care of?" Over the past few days, Cassian had been so busy that she had barely seen him. Although Natalie didn't ask what he was busy with, she had a rough idea. It was the apocalypse, and Cassian's company had already shut down, so he couldn't have been busy with work. They had plenty of supplies as well, so he wouldn't have been out looking for more.Considering the timing, Natalie guessed that he was probably the mysterious person who was selling oil to the official base. However, she did not ask him about it. After all, both of them had never interfered in each other's business. Cassian responded, "I'll be out tomorrow, and then I'll be done with it." Natalie's eyes brightened. That worked out perfectly since she could use the storage space. She answered, "Alright, go ahead and do what you need to do." Cassia asked, "When do you plan to move?" Natalie answered honestly, "Tomorrow." Cassian frowned. "Why don't you wait a day? I'll help you move the day after tomorrow." Natalie waved her hand. "No need. Did you forget? I have Blink." Cassian still wasn't happy about it. "Even so, it'll be tiring for you to move so many things. Wait another day, and I'll do it for you." He added, "I already have an appointment tomorrow, so I have to go out. I can't change the appointment. I'll be free after tomorrow." Natalie assured him, "Go do what you need to." Seeing that Cassian wanted to explain more, Natalie said, "I promised Olivia that we would move tomorrow. Don't worry. I'll just move what I can tomorrow, and you can help me with the rest later."
