Theresa, the Doomsday Queen
So, Lily couldn't help but find the East Sea Camp she once managed with Harrance laughably small and weak in comparison. Nonetheless, what really mattered to her was that she had finally found her own place here. She could fully utilize all her skills and do whatever she wanted. She was no longer someone's shadow. She was no longer dismissed and ridiculed. Of course, she hadn't started out confident. She had her period of confusion and complete loss of direction. Her turmoil only became worse after learning that the second global zombie-virus outbreak had started and that the East Sea Camp had fallen. She had panicked then. She had grieved like she'd never grieved before. After all, she and Harrance had been together for more than 10 years. He might have disappointed her, and their relationship had ended terribly, but her complicated feelings for him couldn't just vanish at the drop of a hat. It definitely didn't help that whatever arguments they had seemed to vanish after learning about his death. In the end, all she could remember of him was the good times they'd once shared. So, she immediately forgave him when she heard that he'd died. Then, she spent days crying her heart out before joining the Blazing Sun Alliance's war effort. She had no time to grieve. In the end, she bucked up, wiped her tears, and threw herself into the war effort. She had risked her life just like everyone else here at the Blazing Sun Alliance. After the war, Harrance and the East Sea Camp officially became part of her past. To her, the good and bad no longer mattered. She had found her closure and was ready to move forward. She had a new life here now after becoming a true member of the Blazing Sun Alliance. Now, the love she'd once given away to Harrance and the East Sea Camp was for the Blazing Sun Camp. She loved it here, loved her work, and loved proving her worth. So, now that she knew Harrance was alive… Honestly, she had no idea how she felt about him now. When Calvin told her about Harrance's arrival, she thought it over for a long time before giving him a firm answer—she would not see Harrance. She had chosen to stand with Theresa in the past, so she would be choosing her new life now. She liked it here. Theresa nodded in satisfaction. "Lily, I want to officially recruit you as my direct subordinate. From now on, you'll have the same status as Kyle, Quentin, Elias, Landon, and Emma. You'll report only to me." Lily's eyes brightened with joy as she spluttered, "M-Ms. Hall, but I just got here! I haven't contributed much yet." "That doesn't matter. You'll have plenty of time to contribute. Do you want the position?" "I do!" Lily didn't even hesitate. "Beep! Congratulations, Host! Guardian +1!" "Fire-based ability acquired!" "Reward: 1,000 points and one combat uniform. The new guard's loyalty has increased to 100!" She had gotten herself another purple-level guardian. Theresa couldn't help but regard Lily with deep satisfaction. Just then, the phone on Lily's desk rang. Lily was still vibrating with joy over her new promotion when she hit the speaker button. A flurry of panicked voices came through as they cried out, "Lily, this is the Blazing Sun Alliance Hospital! Ms. Hall just dropped off a man, which isn't the point. Anyway, he just woke up, and he's refusing to cooperate with treatment! He keeps yelling your name! He says that he'll kill himself if you refuse to come!" Both Lily and Theresa heard everything. As a result, Theresa was back at the hospital five minutes later. She heard the crash of things breaking as soon as she neared Harrance's ward. "I won't be treated! I want Lily! I'll die right here and right now if you refuse to let me see Lily!" Theresa turned to Lily, who had accompanied her. Lily's face was thunderous. She didn't hesitate to shove the door wide open with a bang upon hearing Harrance's demands.Harrance immediately froze mid-tantrum. He had finally gotten to see the woman he had been longing to see. She was a woman in her 30s. She looked as elegant and radiant as always. She definitely looked far better than she ever looked when she was with him. It was Lily in the flesh. "Lily!" Harrance went mad with excitement, dropping the IV pole and running toward her. He wanted to pull her into his arms, hold her tightly, and never let her go again. So, he spread his arms wide and rushed forward. Smack! All he got in return was a deafening slap. Lily had put her full strength into it. Harrance, who was already weak to begin with, staggered and nearly fell *ss over kettle. He'd only managed to stay upright as he hastily grabbed the edge of the bed. He lifted his head only to meet Lily's furious gaze. His chapped lips curled into a smile despite facing her wrath. Then, he stepped forward. "Lily, I knew you still cared. Go ahead and hit me. Hit me till you're satisfied. Hit me until you forgive me." Lily did exactly that and gave it all she got. Soon, all everyone could hear was the sound of her palm striking Harrance's face over and over again.
