Grief, Betrayals, and a Core of Blaze
Ruby felt a sharp pang in her heart, a deep sense of pain. "If your mother had found you sooner, with the backing of a family like the Stones, you wouldn’t have let yourself be treated so unfairly, right? To put it plainly, it was because you were alone and had no support. You were afraid of upsetting Jensen, afraid he would abandon you, afraid of being alone again. This relationship was unequal from the very start." As Ruby spoke, she almost started to cry. My daughter. How could she have been subjected to such unfairness? Natalie felt a sudden moment of clarity upon hearing Ruby's analysis. It's true. She had loved Jensen, but because of outside factors, that love had been unequal from the beginning. She was only realizing it now. It was no wonder Jensen shamelessly went and registered his marriage with Sharon. After all, a Natalie who was so dependent on him would surely be looked down upon. "Mom, that’s all in the past. Please don’t be sad for me. I’m doing very well now. Baron treats me wonderfully." Natalie comforted Ruby and tightly squeezed Baron’s hand. Baron knew that Natalie felt affection for him, but that affection wasn't as intense or reckless as what she once felt for Jensen. He was definitely jealous, but thinking that he was now Natalie’s legal husband, his heart slowly calmed down. It doesn’t matter. He and Natalie had a lifetime to spend together. He was going to gradually push Jensen out of Natalie’s heart completely. He was confident that he would become the only one in Natalie's heart. Baron looked at Natalie holding his hand, seeing it as both reassurance and perhaps guilt. He couldn't help but curve his lips into a smile. As long as his wife was willing to put her heart into him, that was enough. Baron composed himself and asked quietly, "So, Jensen doesn't know about this back door?" "That’s right, he doesn't. I always felt safer after I double-locked the back door. If I'm right, Rachel must have learned about that back door and used it to go inside and take Jensen. Also, that back door actually faces a shop. I was very familiar with the shop owner, so I often used her side for entry and exit. It looks like Rachel may have done the same. How about we go take a look now? We still have time. Maybe we can find a clue." Waylon and the others immediately agreed. Ruby wanted to go along, but Natalie gently refused her. "Mom, you and Dad should stay home. Both children are asleep, and someone needs to be here. Besides, we need the Stone family to arrange people to go to the airport, whether it’s just for show or to genuinely catch someone, we need to have a plan and take action. Plus, we don’t feel comfortable leaving the children alone. Mom and Dad, please stay and look after the children, and Brother, you can deploy the Stone family’s capture operation. My wife and I will go check out the villa." Baron directly stated his suggested arrangement. Considering her health, Ruby did not object. Waylon felt the plan was sound and agreed. "No matter what happens, Baron, take care of my daughter." "I will, Dad." Baron nodded. With that, Natalie and Baron got up and left the villa. Once in the car, Natalie watched the scenery fly by and felt a sudden wave of emotion."Before I came back to the Stone family, my life was ordinary. Every day was spent designing, seeking inspiration, studying, and improving myself. Now that I’m back, it feels like living in an action movie, constantly full of drama and surprises." Hearing Natalie say this, Baron paused slightly. "Are you unhappy with this life?" This kind of life was commonplace for Baron. Now that he was with Natalie, he had even toned down some of the fighting and bloodshed. If Natalie was unhappy even with this current life, Baron felt he truly needed to change professions. Natalie paused when Baron asked. "No, I just find it new and strange. But I still hope these matters end soon. I want to live a normal life. Plus, my fashion show is approaching, and I need to go to the studio for checks and follow-up work." Baron nodded upon hearing this. "Don’t worry. I’ll settle everything as soon as possible. If it gets too much, just leave it to me. You go do what you need to do. Just focus on what you love to do, and I will be responsible for clearing out any enemies and all unstable factors around you." "You make yourself sound like Ultraman." Natalie laughed at her own comparison. Baron, however, spoke with profound sincerity. "I am willing to be your guardian angel for life, Wife. No matter what happens, I only want you to be safe. What you dislike, I will try my best not to do. What you want, I will bring to you with all my ability. Your smile will always be the motivation that drives me forward."
