Grief, Betrayals, and a Core of Blaze

Chapter 532 The Boss' Wife

"Baron……" Natalie’s heart suddenly began to beat fiercely. He’s such a good man, I’d be a fool not to cherish him. Natalie was just about to say something when Baron suddenly slammed on the brakes. Due to the inertia, Natalie hit her head on the windshield, but she was also frightened by the scene in front of her. A person, covered in blood, suddenly ran out and collapsed in front of their car. "Are you okay?" Compared to the person outside, Baron was most concerned about Natalie’s condition. He had braked too quickly; even with her seatbelt on, Natalie still struck the windshield. Seeing the red mark on Natalie’s forehead, Baron silently cursed himself for being careless, while also holding some resentment towards the person outside. The road was so wide; why did they have to run right into his car? Natalie only felt a dull ache in her head, but that was less important than the life in front of them. "Baron, what’s going on with the person outside? Should we call the police?" "I’ll go down and check first, don’t move." Baron saw that Natalie’s skin wasn't broken, just red from the impact. His heart ached, and he wished he could go down and kick that person a couple of times to vent his frustration. Natalie, however, shook her head."I’ll go down with you. I think I know that person." "What?" Baron was surprised. Natalie’s social circle was very small. Someone she knew might be a person who had been kind to her before. Thinking this, Baron opened the car door, got out first to observe the surroundings, and, finding no other issues, allowed Natalie to step out. Natalie quickly moved to the front of the car. The person in front of the car was covered in blood and looked terrifying, but Natalie could clearly see the face. "Natalie!" Natalie instinctively crouched down. "Baron, call an ambulance quickly! She is the boss' wife from the shop behind the Grand Pavilion." Baron’s eyes narrowed suddenly, but he still quickly called an ambulance and the police. This was not Murica. Nor was it his territory. If he and Natalie were to take a person covered in blood who had suddenly collapsed in front of their car to the hospital without calling the police and an ambulance, they could very likely be targeted for a scam. Even with a dashcam, Baron acted cautiously. After all, this involved Natalie. Natalie quickly administered first aid to the woman named Natalie. Baron did not stop her.He instinctively surveyed the surroundings. This location was still some distance from the Grand Pavilion. If the woman was the boss' wife of the shop behind the Grand Pavilion, why was she suddenly here? Moreover, her injuries clearly looked like the result of being beaten. He had been wondering if Rachel had any external support in the country. Now, seeing this woman’s condition, Baron was absolutely certain that Rachel had outside help! Otherwise, she would never have been able to quietly take a big man like Jensen out on her own, nor would she have been so vicious as to lay a deadly hand on a shopkeeper like the woman named Natalie to silence her. However, everything would have to wait until she woke up. The police and the ambulance arrived quickly. The woman named Natalie was immediately rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. Natalie clearly had a good relationship with her and wanted to follow, but Baron stopped her. "We need to give a statement." Natalie then realized that Baron had called the police. The police investigated the incident and reviewed the dashcam footage from Baron’s car, which showed the woman suddenly running out of an alley on the right. They then sent someone to retrieve the surveillance video from that alley. While the police questioned Natalie, Baron took out his phone and began tinkering with it. He quickly copied the surveillance video from the alley and saved it. Everything was done quietly, leaving no trace. Before long, the police brought over the surveillance footage. "Captain, there’s something on this footage." The captain questioning Natalie glanced at the footage, his expression grave, and then said to Natalie and Baron, "Thank you for your cooperation today. You are free to leave now, but this area hasn't been very safe lately, so please avoid lingering around here if you don’t have any other business." "We are residents staying at the Grand Pavilion up ahead." Baron spoke up directly. Hearing this, the police said no more. The two were quickly allowed to leave. Natalie was worried about the other Natalie, but Baron was only focused on the bump on her forehead. "Is there a first aid kit inside the Grand Pavilion?" "Yes." Natalie nodded. They drove straight to the Grand Pavilion. The Grand Pavilion’s security guard still recognized Natalie and quickly greeted her when he saw her return. "Natalie, long time no see. Is this gentleman a relative of yours?"
