The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
Lucien's breathing turned uneven. Heat flashed deep in his eyes. He raised his hand and held the back of Emma's neck. His thumb lightly brushed over her smooth skin. "Then I'll try. I'll be faster." There was helpless indulgence in his voice. Reality proved one thing. Half an hour wasn't enough. "Emma, I swear. I'll try to be faster next time." Lucien looked at Emma. She was lying on the bed on her stomach with her back to him, clearly refusing to acknowledge him. He sounded guilty. "Ha." Emma looked at his guilty face and let out a weak, cold laugh. "I told you to be faster with your speed. I didn't mean that kind of fast."She felt like her whole body was falling apart. Lucien lowered his head with an innocent look. His voice carried a bit of grievance. "Emma, I did it the way you said." Emma was left speechless. She was completely choked up by his innocent and confident tone. This man had to be doing it on purpose. He clearly understood and still pretended not to. "Lucien!" Emma ground her teeth and growled. She lunged at him like an angry little beast. Lucien reacted right away and reached out to protect her. "I meant the speed of time. I didn't mean that kind of fast." As soon as Emma finished speaking, she bit his neck without holding back. He did do it on purpose. The Pyreborn must have burned his brain. It even turned his heart pitch black in a joking kind of way. "Emma, it's my fault." Lucien admitted it right away. "I misunderstood what you meant. I promise next time I'll do it the way you said." After he finished speaking, he felt her teeth grind against his neck again. He rushed to add, "I meant the time. Faster in time." After saying that, even Lucien wanted to cover his own face. Was there any promise more ridiculous than this? Who even told their mate to be faster with time like that? If this got out, how would he ever face people again? The last rumor about him not being capable wasn't even cleared up yet. If people heard he was fast, how would he live with that? He figured he would never live it down. "Hmph." Emma let out a weak sound and ignored him.Lucien checked the time on his lightcore. He picked out the clothes Emma planned to wear to the bonfire party that night. "Emma, it's almost time." He lifted her in his arms. "Let's go shower first." Emma let him carry her. She found a comfortable position in his arms and went with him to the shower. … Later that night, at the bonfire party. On the vast open square, Calum and Marcus stood in the crowd. They watched the fire pits burning across the space. There was envy in their eyes. This bonfire party was for females and their mates to attend together. By every fire pit, several male mates gathered around their females. They joked with them and tried to make them happy. "This is all Lucien's fault."Marcus leaned against a pillar in the corner. His voice sounded weak and lifeless. "If he hadn't stolen Ms. Tibarn away, we could've been here with her too." Maybe Ms. Tibarn would've tugged my ear during the party. Maybe I could've stayed with her at night. Just thinking about it made the wolf happy. Calum looked at him. He then checked the time on his lightcore. "The bonfire party has already started. Why haven't Ms. Tibarn and Lucien arrived yet? Do you think they're not coming?" Silas said Emma liked lively places. She wouldn't skip the bonfire party on Z-1689. If they wanted to see her, they could come here. Since Emma didn't allow them to appear, they could only watch from far away. Even that was enough for Calum and Marcus. Emma had been taken by Lucien for so many days. They missed her so much it felt unbearable. "Probably not." Marcus looked at the empty fire pits not far away. "There are still plenty of empty spots. Ms. Tibarn might just be late. She loves lively scenes. She'll come." As soon as Marcus finished speaking, both he and Calum felt a powerful wave of ability aura. In the next second, Lucien appeared on the square in an instant with Emma in his arms. His arrival drew immediate attention. With that level of power, no one dared to walk up and greet him out of curiosity. "They finally showed up." Calum and Marcus quietly let out a breath of relief. On the other side, as soon as Emma stepped onto the square, she found an empty fire pit. She took out the things she had prepared. She then asked Lucien to light the fire for her. "Lucien, hurry up."When Lucien heard the words, his mouth twitched. He walked over with a helpless look. He snapped his fingers lightly. The fire pit ignited at once. "So cool!" Emma looked at his move with pure envy. She wished she could one day snap her fingers and kill a beast just like that. "This is nothing." Seeing her excited expression, Lucien held back a laugh. His mood lifted. He walked to her side and helped control the flame and the heat so it wouldn't get too warm for her.
