The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
"Lucien, take out the meat we marinated," Emma said as she looked around. Sure enough, she spotted Calum and Marcus in the corner. She smiled at them, then quickly sent them a message on her lightcore. Emma, 'Wait for me. I'll find a chance to come over to you later.' She had known Marcus and Calum would show up to secretly watch her. When they received the message, both of them broke into wide smiles. That's great. We can finally hug Ms. Tibarn later. "Emma, you're finally here." Emma's new friend, Stella Wynn, ran over with her mate as soon as she saw her. She was holding a delicate food box in her hands. "Emma, I made this food myself. Try it and see if it's good.""Thank you, Stella." Emma happily took the food box from her. She also handed over the food she had prepared for Stella. "I baked these cookies myself. Try them." Stella took the cookies with trembling hands. "You're the first female who ever gave me a gift. Thank you, Emma." Stella was very pretty. There was only one thing that stood out. A long scar across her face ruined her looks. Because of that, she had never made any friends. Stella once told Emma that the scar came from an injury by the Chitinid. She had tried countless treatments. She had even gone to Beast God Mountain. Nothing had worked. Emma met Stella the day she went downstairs to borrow a lightcore. Stella had kindly lent her own lightcore after hearing that Emma needed one. "If you like them, I'll bring you more next time," Emma said. She pulled Stella to sit beside her.She took out the meat Lucien had marinated that afternoon. They started grilling together. "Stella, I'm treating you to barbecue," Emma said. "It smells so good." Stella sniffed the air, almost drooling. "Emma, your food smells amazing. I haven't even eaten yet, and I'm already craving it." "I didn't make this. My mate did," Emma said. She praised Lucien without holding back. Lucien sat on her other side. When he heard her words, his smile kept growing, no matter how hard he tried to hold it in. "Wow, Emma, your mate's so skilled. He's even better than my brother," Stella said. She looked at the fragrant barbecue with shy eyes. "Emma, my brother's coming later. Can I give him some of the barbecue you gave me?" "Of course you can," Emma said with a smile. "I'll teach you how to grill it. You can make it yourself for your brother." A female could not casually grill food for an unfamiliar male. That could make the male think she was interested in him and wanted him as a mate or follower. Emma could not grill for Stella's brother. She could only teach Stella. "Really? You're really willing to teach me?" Stella asked. She felt that her new friend was truly wonderful. She was so moved that she almost cried. "But Emma, I don't have anything to teach you in return. Can I trade you something else?" "We're friends. If you say that, I'll get upset," Emma said. "Then I won't say it," Stella said at once. She quickly covered her mouth. Emma thought Stella looked adorable. She reminded her of the little girl next door who used to follow her around when she was young. She placed the grilled meat in front of Stella. "Eat while it's hot," she said. "Emma, you're so nice," Stella said. She picked up a fork and was about to eat. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed a figure in white walking toward them. Her face lit up. She waved excitedly. "Alaric, you finally came." Emma looked up and froze for a moment. Stella's brother is actually him. Alaric. She never expected that Stella's brother would be him. Her new friend had turned out to be the sister of her lifesaver. Fate really worked in strange ways. Alaric wore spotless white clothes. He walked over at an unhurried pace. He looked cold and distant, like a quiet flower blooming in the dark. "Alaric, why are you so late?" Stella asked. When she saw how slowly he was walking over, she grew anxious. She ran up, grabbed him, and pulled him over. She introduced him to Emma. "Emma, this is my brother, Alaric."Alaric, this is my friend. Her name is Emma." The firelight lit up Alaric's face clearly. He looked at Emma. His eyes lifted slightly, and the corners of his eyes were long and sharp. "Emma, long time no see," he said. Emma was stunned for a brief moment. Then she gave a calm smile and nodded politely. "Mr. Wynn, long time no see." "Alaric, you know Emma?" Stella asked. She looked back and forth between her brother and her new friend. Her simple eyes were full of curiosity. "Yes. I know her," Alaric said. He looked at Emma when he spoke. There was a faint smile in his deep voice. "Emma told me before that you once saved her years ago," Lucien said.
