The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
The food at the bonfire party wasn't what Emma would have liked. They still needed to prepare their own food. "I'll prepare it with you," Emma said. She walked over and held his hand. "Lucien, are you really okay? You kept zoning out these past two days." She hadn't noticed it starting yesterday. He drifted off more and more. "Emma, I'm fine," Lucien replied with a smile. He shook his head and pulled her into his arms. "I just thought about Silas and Marcus. They'll arrive in two more days. I'll have to separate from you soon. That made me feel sad." "How would we be separating?" Emma said with a laugh. She kissed his face. "Before Silas gets here, you could run away with me. Your speed is so fast now. With one move, we would be in the outer regions. Silas would never find us." These past few days, Emma had gained a new understanding of his speed. After Lucien's Pyreborn, he seemed to have gained something like teleportation. No matter where he wanted to go, he could get there almost instantly. If he truly wanted to escape, no one could find him. Lucien shook his head. "I really want to take you away so they can never find you. But I know you wouldn't be happy that way." He couldn't do that anymore. Being able to steal her away and spend a few days alone together already made him very content. He also felt that his episodes were getting closer. His head had started hurting from time to time these past two days. He felt like he had forgotten something very important. The fear in his heart kept growing. A notification suddenly sounded from Emma's lightcore. Lucien smiled and kissed her forehead. "It must be your new friend messaging you. You should go reply. I'll clean up the things we need for tonight." After he spoke, he turned and walked toward the kitchen. Emma watched his back. She knew he didn't tell her the truth just now. Even if he didn't say it, she could still guess. Based on the change in the plumage mark between his brows, he was close to remembering his Pyreborn. Once the plumage mark fully turned red, he would remember everything. By then, he should fully return to normal. Emma opened her lightcore. The message wasn't from the new friend she had made. It was from Calum, who wrote, 'Ms. Tibarn, Marcus, and I have arrived in Z-1689. Can we come over now?' Emma thought for a moment and replied, 'Thanks to you and Marcus for the hard work. You should find a place to stay for now and come over in two days.' With how things were going, in two more days, the plumage mark between Lucien's brows should completely turn red. Calum replied, 'Alright, Ms. Tibarn. Marcus and I will stay near the hotel where you are staying. We'll protect you in secret.' Right after Calum sent his message, Marcus sent one as well, 'Ms. Tibarn, has Lucien been normal these past few days? He didn't bully you, right?' Emma smiled when she saw his message. She told him not to worry. Emma, 'Don't worry. Lucien didn't bully me at all. He's normal for now. There are no issues at the moment. The plumage mark hasn't fully returned to normal yet. It'll take two more days.' After replying to both of them, Emma felt a little tired and yawned. "Lucien, you go ahead and finish up. I'm a little sleepy. I'll go lie down for a while." These past few nights had been too intense. She often felt sleepy during the day. Lucien washed his hands and walked out of the kitchen. He looked at her. "Emma, do you need me to stay with you?" "No," Emma replied and waved. "Go do your thing." She was only going to sleep for a bit. He didn't need to stay with her. After he watched her walk into the bedroom and fall asleep, Lucien went back to the kitchen to finish preparing the evening's food. Emma slept until the sky grew dark. She reached out and grabbed Lucien's firm abs right away. His skin felt slightly cool. "Lucien, what time is it?" she asked. These past few days, his body temperature had risen a lot. He no longer felt as cold as before. "It's 6 p.m.," Lucien said softly. "There's still some time before the bonfire party starts. You can sleep a bit more." Emma had slept all afternoon, so she was no longer sleepy. She suddenly turned over and pressed him down. "Since there's still some time before the bonfire party, you should turn in your report for tonight first." Lucien could not help but laugh. "Emma, I don't finish that fast." Half an hour wasn't even close to enough. At the very least, it would take three hours. Emma bit his ear gently. "But I want it right now. What should I do?" Her words were direct and bold. Lucien's self-control had never meant much in front of her. At this moment, it completely fell apart. He spoke in a low, hoarse voice in the dim room, "Alright."
