The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
Malrik immediately nodded, wanting to form a bond with Emma. "I'll do whatever you say, Ms. Tibarn. I'll even ask Daddy to treat my illness." A glint appeared in Calum's eyes as he listened to Emma and Malrik's conversation. Emma was great at painting illusions. Calum tossed the fruit pit in his hand into the trash and walked toward Malrik. "Since that's the case, let's begin now." Before Malrik could even react, Calum struck him with a palm, rendering him unconscious. Seeing this, Emma was speechless. He explained, "Don't worry, Ms. Tibarn. He simply fainted, and he'll be awake once I extract the wild energy raging inside him. It'll be fine." Either way, that was rough, she thought. Calum lifted Malrik and dropped him onto the bed carelessly, like he was tossing a pig. The gentleness he'd shown Emma while holding her earlier had disappeared. He quickly tore open Malrik's clothes and extended his hand, hovering above his chest. Emma saw strands of nearly transparent white energy spilling from Calum's palm, the vines gently seeping into Malrik's body. Soon, thin streams of dark red, violent energy began to emerge. The dark red, chaotic energy surged frantically along the white energy flowing from Calum, crawling toward his palm. Emma watched anxiously as the dark red energy collected into a glowing orb in Calum's palm, writhing and struggling violently. It looked extremely dangerous. Gradually, the red energy ball stopped moving. The violent energy seemed completely subdued, slowly merging into Calum's body. … A few minutes later, Calum withdrew his hand and turned to look at Emma. "Ms. Tibarn, I've extracted the most violent portion of Malrik's energy." The rest would have to be handled by Malrik himself.Emma walked over, seemingly worried as she looked at Calum. "I just saw you absorb that violent energy into your own body. Wouldn't that hurt you?" Calum felt a surge of happiness at her concern and shook his head gently. "Don't worry, Ms. Tibarn. This bit of violent energy won't cause me any harm." After all, he could easily absorb it all. Hearing that the violent energy posed no danger to Calum, Emma finally relaxed. She lowered her gaze, observing Malrik as he lay in bed. He hadn't woken yet. His long eyelashes cast delicate shadows over his closed eyes, trembling slightly with each even breath. Calum glanced at Malrik before speaking to Emma. "Ms. Tibarn, he'll be up in no time. I'll arrange for someone to escort him back to the army." He didn't want to interact with Malrik when the latter woke, afraid that the guy would feed him fruit again. "Alright." Emma nodded, watching Calum leave. Shortly after, Malrik jolted awake."Ms. Tibarn." He opened his eyes and reached up, frowning as he rubbed the back of his neck. It felt as though someone had struck him from behind. "You're awake, Malrik." Seeing him stir, Emma hurried to his side, looking at him solemnly. "Calum just absorbed the most violent energy from your body. How do you feel now?" she asked. Malrik closed his eyes for a moment, sensing his body. He felt incredibly comfortable. "I feel really good, Ms. Tibarn. My body feels fine, and the dull pain I had before is gone." Emma's eyes lit up at his words. She realized that not only did Malrik's body feel better, but he was also more alert and clear-headed than before. "That's wonderful." She happily took his hand. "Calum's method really works. Malrik, you have to spend some time in the army. That way, you'd be able to release the remaining energy in your body. Someone's coming to pick you up. Here, let me help you pack." The army? Wouldn't that mean leaving Ms. Tibarn? "Ms. Tibarn, can't I just stay here?" Now that the most violent energy had been extracted, Malrik's mind had cleared a little. One thing was certain—he didn't want to leave her. "No." Emma's tone was firm as she shook her head. "Have you forgotten your promise? You need to get better quickly so that we can form a bond. To fully recover, you have to follow Calum's instructions now." As she spoke, she got up to help him pack his clothes and daily necessities. Calum said that recovery could take anywhere from five or six days at best to a full month. Emma didn't know how long it'd take, so she prepared everything as if it would take a full month. Malrik got off the bed, looking like a forlorn giant dog. He followed Emma wherever she went, never leaving her side.
