The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
He was afraid Malrik would come feed him fruit again, so he changed back to his real form. As soon as Calum finished talking, a flash of white light appeared in front of Emma. In the next second, she was pulled into a strong and solid embrace. "Ms. Tibarn." Calum's voice sounded next to her ear. "Were you looking for me?" He had wanted to go back to his room to rest, but the room was still being set up. He had nowhere to go, so he rested on the couch in the living room for a while. Yet, he was afraid that if he slept on the couch, Malrik would come feed him fruit again. That would make him turn into his beast form. He also worried that his beast form would be too big and too scary. He did not want to frighten Emma, so he changed into the size of a kitten. "Yes." Emma stepped back from his arms and looked at him. "I wanted to ask you. If we use your method, how long will it take for Malrik to go back to normal?"Calum answered, "It depends on how fast he releases his energy. If he is fast, then five or six days. If he is slow, then half a month. It could even take a month. The slowest will not go past forty days." After he spoke, he looked at her. "Ms. Tibarn, does this mean you agree to let me treat Malrik?" Emma nodded. "Yes. We will be a family from now on. I will leave Malrik to you." She smiled and promised him. "After Malrik gets better, we will bond." They would bond anyway, so she did not plan to make Calum wait too long. Since she had decided to be with him, she needed to give him a promise and some peace of mind. Bond? Calum stared at Emma, his eyes bright with surprise. He had thought she was so scared of him that she would never want to become mates anytime soon. Never in his life had he expected this."Okay!" Calum answered almost right away. His voice was lower than before, but it carried a strong and barely hidden excitement. He took a step forward. His tall figure cast a shadow over her. "Ms. Tibarn, I will make sure Malrik recovers as fast as possible." Nothing would stop him from becoming mates with Emma. "Ms. Tibarn, I'll take you to Malrik right now." He finished talking and picked Emma up as he walked toward the living room. Emma stayed silent. The way he moved felt a little too quick. She was suddenly lifted in a princess carry. She reached out on instinct and wrapped her arms around his neck so she could stay steady. Calum's arms were solid like steel. He held her with perfect stability. Every step he took was steady and strong. Emma felt like she was a treasure protected by a powerful beast. She did not feel any tremors at all. She leaned against Calum's chest and heard his strong heartbeat. Her cheeks grew warm without her control. "Calum, put me down. I can walk on my own." Emma shifted a little in discomfort, but she sank deeper into his strong embrace. He heard her words, but his steps did not slow. His arms tightened around her, holding her even more securely. He lowered his head and looked at her flushed cheeks. His voice was low and magnetic. It carried a firm tone with no room for refusal, yet there was also an awkward eagerness to please. "Ms. Tibarn, you promised to become mates with me." He spoke as if he were stating a sacred agreement. "I did promise you." Emma nodded, but she did not understand what that had to do with him carrying her. "Then, from now on," Calum expressed with a tiny smile, his eyes warm and focused, "carrying you is my right and my duty." His words were simple and plain, but he meant them. Emma stayed silent. … Soon, Calum carried her into the living room. "We're here. You can put me down now." Once they entered the living room, he followed her words right away. He carefully placed Emma on her feet. She then took him to Malrik's room. "Ms. Tibarn, you're here." Malrik saw her come in. He put down his book right away and walked toward her. "Daddy, you're here too." When he saw Calum with the white short hair, Malrik brightened at once. He rushed to get him some fruit. "Daddy, eat some fruit." Calum looked at the fruit in Malrik's hand. This time, he did not show any dislike. He smiled a little, took the fruit, and took a bite. This one tasted sweet. Emma saw Calum eat the fruit. She did not want Malrik to bring more, so she pulled Calum to stand next to her.She told Malrik that Calum was here to treat him. "Daddy, when did you learn how to treat people?" Malrik looked confused. Calum answered, "I just learned it." Malrik froze. Emma heard Calum's reply. Her mouth twitched as she spoke to Malrik. "Malrik, don't you want to become mates with me?" If she was going to draw one promise, she might as well draw two. She looked at him with a serious expression. "As long as you listen to Calum during this time and let him treat you, then after you go back to normal, we will become mates. Okay?"
