The Cherished Pet of Nine Beast Husbands
"Your Highness. Prince Marcus. This was the juice that Lily asked the medic to send over." "Give it to Marcus." Lucien spoke. They did not dare to drink anything sent by Lily. Marcus took the juice from the adjutant. He put the container into his pack to store it. He planned to take it back later and give it to Emma. The adjutant continued. "Your Highness, we already contacted Kael and the Enchanter Clan. They're on their way. I already had someone arrange the pickup at N-23." The ship had already entered the Empire's territory. They would reach N-23 in two days. Lucien said, "Give the order. Full speed ahead." … Inside the manor, Emma found Silas and told him what Calum said about being able to cure Malrik. "Silas, you know Calum longer. You should understand him better." Emma looked at Malrik, who was searching for fruit again. She asked Silas. "What do you think? Can we trust what Calum said?" After Malrik became simple-minded, he loved searching for fruit. Every day, he was either searching for fruit or on his way to search for fruit. At first, Emma did not understand why he liked doing that so much. Later, Silas found the reason. Malrik's father suffered a serious injury when Malrik was three. He became bedridden. Celia disliked Malrik's father. She also disliked Malrik because of Merlin. Three-year-old Malrik and his father had no one to care for them. They often went hungry. To keep himself and his father alive, Malrik often sneaked out to pick the unwanted fruits in the Enchanter Clan. Those fruits tasted bad but were not poisonous.Even so, his father did not survive. He held on for three more years before he passed away. Silas placed a sweet fruit on the nearby shelf. He let Malrik find it on his own. Then he spoke to Emma with a serious tone. "Emy, I can't promise anything else. But I can promise you that Calum's character has no problem at all." Calum did have a bad temper. But he was someone they could trust. "Since he told you he could guarantee Malrik's safety, he won't not let anything happen to him. I think we can listen to him and use his method to treat Malrik." If Silas said this much, then Calum really could be trusted. Emma nodded. "If that's the case, then I'll talk to him and ask him to treat Malrik.""Ms. Tibarn, I found the fruit." Malrik's excited voice came from the shelf. He held the sweet fruit Silas had placed earlier and walked to Emma. He held the fruit up for her to see. "Ms. Tibarn, I will bring this to Daddy." "No." Emma grabbed him right away. She told him with a serious tone. "Calum is not your daddy. You must not give him fruit anymore." If Malrik kept feeding Calum like this, Emma feared Calum would snap his neck one day. "He is not Daddy?" Malrik looked at Emma. Then he looked at the fruit in his hand. His eyes looked confused. "But he has white hair." He remembered that his dad had white hair. "He only has white hair like your daddy, but he is not your daddy." Emma explained. "He is not Daddy, then where is Daddy?" Malrik held the fruit. His confused eyes filled with tears. They looked like they might fall any time. Emma took the fruit from his hands. She hugged him gently. "Did you forget? Daddy went to catch beasts. We'll wait at home. When he comes back, we'll give him the fruit. Alright?" Malrik suddenly hit his own forehead. "How did I forget? Daddy went to catch beasts." He held Emma's hand. "Ms. Tibarn, when Daddy comes back, let's go see him together. Alright?" "Alright." Emma nodded with a serious tone. After she comforted Malrik, she went to find Calum right away. She checked the living room downstairs. Calum was not there. She went to the room he chose on the second floor. He was not there either. The room upstairs was full of spatial stones for decorating. The people Silas found were helping him set up the room. Once Emma confirmed he was not there, she looked for him around the manor. She searched everywhere but did not find him. Only then did she remember to call him on her lightcore. The call connected fast. A white tiger the size of a kitten appeared as a projection in front of her. "Calum?" Emma looked at the cute little fluffball. She spoke with a testing tone. "Ms. Tibarn, it's me." The little white tiger spoke. It was Calum's voice. "Why did you turn into that?" Emma stared at him in shock. She froze for a moment. She worried he also had a problem. She had been scared too many times already. Among the mates matched to her, only Edric had not gone through any strange incident. The others turned into charcoal, or into sticks, or froze her entire manor. The little white tiger on the couch stretched lazily. Then he spoke. "Ms. Tibarn, I was resting on the couch just now."
