If It's Not Me

Chapter 53 The Terrifying Lord Hades

Over here were the phantom guards who were in charge of Janice's safety, and one of them was holding a sniper rifle, aiming it straight at Xavier's head while his finger was on the trigger. The female phantom guard beside him placed her hand on the barrel and said, "You can't attack! Phantom had said that we should never expose ourselves unless it's an emergency!" The male guard said through gritted teeth, "But, isn't this an emergency enough? This is His Excellency's wife we're speaking about!" Even the female guard's face was filled with murderous intent, but she still said, "We'll inform Phantom first, and if His Excellency can make it here in time, we'll remain as observers, then. But if he can't make it here, we'll have to ask for permission to attack!" Meanwhile, Daniel was still at the pavilion with Aldo and Laskarina, and Denise was hanging on to the handrail next to the lake, watching the carp swimming back and forth in the water. In the midst of a conversation with Aldo, Daniel's eyes narrowed, and he stopped speaking abruptly. A surprised Aldo asked, "Did something happen, General Hardon?" Daniel didn't answer him, and his resolute face turned cold. Then, he spun his head around and said, "I'll take care of it myself. You're not allowed to act!" When Aldo saw that Daniel had suddenly turned his head behind and spoke to the air, he was shocked. Then, suddenly, an especially clear voice belonging to a woman echoed from the bushes in the dark. "Understood!" That's Phantom's voice! Aldo's expression changed dramatically. Is there someone in the bushes? From the beginning until now, I didn't even realize that someone was there! Laskarina was startled by the voice that came out of nowhere as well, and she kept her gaze fixed on the bushes nearby, but she couldn't see anyone. "Huh? Who's speaking, Daddy?" Denise curiously spun her head and looked around. Daniel didn't answer her question. Instead, he picked her up and said gently, "Denise, close your eyes. I'll take you to Mommy, okay? Count to one hundred, and you'll see Mommy when you open your eyes." "Okay!" Denise obediently closed her eyes and started counting in her cherubic voice. "General Hardon—" Just when Aldo wanted to ask him what was happening, Daniel's eyes filled up with murderous intent, and a terrifying, chilling air burst out instantly. Suddenly, the wind howled and rolled around so strong that the Morales could barely open their eyes, and even their face was starting to hurt. Daniel had disappeared when they regained their senses, as though he had evaporated into thin air! "Grandpa, where did he go?" Laskarina's eyes were filled with shock, and she looked around, but Daniel was nowhere to be found. "I-I don't know," Aldo stammered, his wrinkled face covered in fear and shock. Earlier, he almost couldn't breathe after Daniel released a trace of his aura, and he felt as if he was at the Gates of Hell! I-Is this the strength of a General? This is too terrifying! Aldo thought, breathing heavily. "My god, this is lightning speed! And who's the person in the bushes?!" Laskarina asked fearfully. Akin to watching a movie, she merely blinked once and a man suddenly disappeared in front of her! Aldo looked in the direction of the dark bushes as he said with knitted brows, "If my guess is right, someone was communicating with General Hardon via supersonic wavelength from the bushes earlier." "Supersonic wavelength communication?!" Laskarina's eyes turned into the size of golf balls. "That's right," Aldo answered with a nod. Otherwise, Daniel wouldn't answer so abruptly. In addition, only a grandmaster could use supersonic wavelength communication! Expert in camouflage, a woman, and a grandmaster! One person immediately popped into Aldo's mind after he combined these three pieces of information. One of the four terminus of Hades—Shadow, Phantom! At this epiphany, he inhaled sharply. Lord Hades is as terrifying as he is!
