If It's Not Me
"You're Daniel Hardon of the Hardon Family from ten years ago?" Janice was surprised after hearing him tell her about what had happened to him ten years ago. "Yes, but I was framed." He nodded. Hearing that, she furrowed her brows and stared at him as if being shook after finding out about his scandal. She finally asked after a brief pause, "So the reason you were at the Four Waves Chamber of Commerce and even asked a favor from Tigre to accompany you there was to exonerate yourself of the accusations from ten years ago?" "That's right." He nodded calmly. However, he felt unsettled when he saw the frown on her face as he was worried that she would be bothered by his past and terminate the contract with him. Little did he know that she wasn't bothered by his past. "In that case, who was the woman standing next to you?" she asked. Surprised by her question, he replied after noticing her cold and intent stare. "Her name is Phantom, and she's my subordinate." "Your subordinate? Really?" She looked at him skeptically. He nodded while looking at her earnestly. "Alright, I'll believe you," she replied while pursing her lips upon seeing his expression. Somehow, she felt a sense of relief. Seeing that she had stopped probing him, he was secretly relieved too as he had managed to dodge the bullet. Meanwhile, it didn't take long for Bobby to take care of the matter. Jacko from Northside was incarcerated as a result for being suspected for being responsible for a dozen counts of intentional homicide. Since Douglas' incident was on his head as well, he had to spend the rest of his life behind bars. As for Cameron, he was arrested on suspicison of murdering Fletcher, which had caused a stir within Goldshore. Because of that, multiple business partners requested to terminate their contracts, bringing about the Doyle Family's demise. Most importantly, it was officially announced that the Four Waves Chamber of Commerce had completely lost their right to tender for the Sky Project. If not for Ingrid's prompt action to cut off all ties with the Doyle Family, the Four Waves Chamber of Commerce would have been blacklisted and wouldn't have had the chance to have a comeback. Everything happened as planned, but Daniel wasn't happy. Even though Janice didn't seem to mind his past, he wasn't allowed to stay overnight at her house anymore. He had to leave right after Denise fell asleep, which frustrated him to no end. To him, being able to stay by Denise's side was more important, but he had to respect Janice's decision since she was his daughter's mother. Meanwhile, Waterfront Manor was located in Goldshore's most affluent neighborhood, and the people who lived here were filthy rich. This happened to be where Aldo resided. He was currently in his study, looking grim after finding out about what had happened yesterday. He had asked someone to do a background check on Daniel, but no information about him could be found. It meant that he lacked the authority to do so, which shocked him as he held significant power despite his old age. It baffled him that he wasn't able to get any information about Daniel at all. This signified how top secret Daniel's files were, making him realize that Daniel wasn't merely a member of Thanatos. In fact, he could possibly be someone who held a high rank. "Could he be one of the Four Terminus from Thanatos?" Aldo mumbled to himself. Apart from Hades who was known as the invincible God of War within Thanatos, the Four Commanders under his command were creme de la creme figures, and they were regarded as the Four Terminus. It consisted of Phantom, also known as Shadow; Zephyr, also known as Bandit; Death, also known as Venom; and Thunderclap, also known as Beast. However, after giving some careful thought, he didn't find any characteristics similar to the Four Terminus on Daniel. Finally, he called out to Laskarina, and she immediately entered his study in casual wear. "What's wrong, Grandpa?" "Las, do you know where Daniel stays?" he asked softly. "Yes, I do. I've sent his wife home before this, and I remember the place," she answered. "Great. Let's go." Aldo immediately stood up right after. "Grandpa, are you planning to go meet him? I can just invite him over," she said after seeing Aldo getting up on his feet. "No. Since he is a Grandmaster, we should go see him in person to prove our sincerity." He shook his head. Although Aldo was unsure of Daniel's true identity, he knew that Daniel was not to be messed with since he was a Grandmaster. They should be on good terms with him no matter what. On top of that, Goldshore was in chaos because of Daniel. Although only the Four Waves Chamber of Commerce was affected right now, it could possibly affect the whole Goldshore in the future. Not being able to dissuade Aldo, Laskarina had no choice but to bring him there. Little did they know that Daniel actually lived just a few doors down their manor in the same neighborhood. Phantom had specifically purchased one of the more secluded manors within the neighborhood for Daniel to stay at after they returned from Yelrich. Meanwhile, Daniel had changed into his shirt and prepared to head out. Since it was Monday, Denise had to attend school; he was in charge of fetching her from school every Monday to Friday. Waiting for her to get off school felt like forever to him, but the thought of meeting her put a smile on his face. Meanwhile, Aldo was dressed in a suit while he sat in a wheelchair and waited outside the gates. Although he seemed old, he looked sharp. Suddenly, a Mercedes-Benz S450 which was commonly seen in the neighborhood drove past them. Its car plate number, South A88888 caught their attention. "Isn't that William Hayes' car? The richest man in Southland?" Aldo seemed shocked as he furrowed his brows. Laskarina was also surprised by the sight of it. William Hayes was a well known name within Southland who had gone from rags and to riches before becoming Freyna's hottest business genius. He even managed to become the wealthiest man in Southland in just ten years' time! "Why is his car here? Aldo asked in surprise. As they stood where they were, they saw the car slowing down and finally stopping in front of a manor. The next moment, they saw a middle aged man donned in a suit getting down from the car. Aldo and Laskarina instantly figured out that it was William himself from his iconic squared face. While they were surprised to see him, William dashed to the other side of the car and opened the door. An elderly man who was holding a cane was seen getting down from the car. He looked old but sharp, and he exuded a superior disposition. Both Aldo and Laksarina were shocked to see the richest man of Southland opening the car door for the elderly man. It showed how powerful that man was. William was seen standing respectfully next to the man and like an entourage and said, "This is where Hades resides, old butler."
