If It's Not Me
The next second, all of the bodyguards collapsed onto the ground just as Phantom emerged from behind Daniel. At the same time, she was seen facing away from Daniel with a dozen stun batons in her hand, her face written with a nonchalant expression. When the four of them witnessed what happened on the stage, they were stunned, finding it hard to believe that the short-haired lady beside Daniel had just taken out all their guards. In fact, Phantom was so fast that they couldn't even see how she subdued the guards. Ingrid looked visibly worried as she was able to sense the menacing aura the lady was giving off. Is this why Daniel is so fearless right here? She then turned her attention to Daniel, sensing a strange yet intimidating energy that he radiated despite his skinny figure as if the man was death himself. In fact, he made her feel even more insecure than how Phantom made her feel. What did Daniel go through in the past ten years? Anyway, I'm not scared of him. She coldly asked, "Daniel, do you really think you can leave here in one piece with this lady and Tigre?" The lady clapped her hands as soon as she finished her words. The next second, a number of men charged into the hall from both sides of the entrance, armed with a long machete each. At the same time, the man, who stood in the forefront, was just as big and stout as Raymond. With a long scar on his face, he chuckled with his menacing look. "Surprise, Tigre." Raymond squinted and coldly said, "Jacko, I can't believe you're also a dumb lackey who's loyal to the Four Waves Chamber of Commerce." Jacko? It's the kingpin from Northside! The three patriarchs were surprised to see Jacko there, wondering why he would show up, but when they turned their attention to Ingrid and saw the confident look on her face, they started to believe that they had nothing to fear. Did this lady plan everything secretly while keeping us in the dark?Gosh! This is scary! As business partners, the three men were terrified of the fact that Ingrid had secretly contacted Jacko behind their backs. Meanwhile, Daniel's eyes remained calm; he had long expected Ingrid's back-up plan since Raymond was involved in the matter. However, he was curious what kind of offer Ingrid had made to convince Jacko to help her. "A lackey?" Jacko chuckled coldly, placing the blade on his shoulder with a sneer. "Still acting like a jerk even when you're about to meet your demise, Tigre. Once I kill you, your turf in Westhill will be mine." As soon as he finished his words, his underlings quickly surrounded and closed in on the three of them. "All by yourself?" Tigre mocked Jacko as he appeared unconcerned about the man and his minions' threat. "I've told you, Daniel—I will not let you walk out of here in one piece. If you die here, the outside world will only think you're dead because of a gang fight with Jacko. It will have nothing to do with us at all, so do you think you can really turn the tables? You're not in charge here in Goldshore." Ingrid gazed at Daniel with a haughty look and walked away while the three patriarchs followed right behind her. "My Lord, shall I kill them?" Phantom asked. "There's no need for that." Daniel squinted and shook his head. While killing Ingrid was just as easy as crushing an ant to him, he wanted to expose her evil intentions and destroy her mentally instead. I'm going to show her who is in charge in Goldshore now. He then took a look at the time, realizing it was almost 2.00PM. Denise is going to wake up anytime now. "Let's go," he said, whereupon he turned around and walked away. However, the thugs quickly blocked their way and stopped them from stepping forward any further. The next second, they heard Jacko's maniac laughter from behind them. "Seriously? You think you're just going to walk away like that? How arrogant of you, kid! Let me tell you something—none of you are going to walk out of here alive! Leave Tigre to me! The rest of you will kill that dude and that b*tch for me!" Upon finishing his words, Jacko charged at Raymond while trying to intimidate his victims with his stout figure, swinging his blade mercilessly at his target's head. "What a nuisance!" Raymond snarled, his voice echoing through every corner and stunning all who heard it. He then dashed forward at lightning speed, showing up right behind Jacko in an agile manner. "What?! You?!" Jacko's face changed before he could even react to Raymond's advance. The next moment, he felt a huge thump on his head, sending his head downward before it hit the ground so hard that cracks could be seen. Soon, Jacko's head slowly began to drown in a pool of blood as his lifeless body lay down there, still. In the meantime, the thugs froze at the sight of what they saw, stupefied and stunned. While their faces were written with disbelief, they all couldn't believe their eyes. After all, they had witnessed how their boss had fought Raymond evenly in the past three years, but at that moment, Jacko was defeated in a matter of seconds. Raymond then rose to his feet, shifting his gaze to the horrified faces around him as he felt like he had just taken a huge load off his chest. In fact, he was aware of the shady deals his superiors had been making with the Lowell Family and Rory in the past three years, which was why he had been holding back so that he wouldn't alert them. Otherwise, as a top elite in The Sabretooth Squad, he would have finished off a thug without wasting too much time. After three years, I no longer have to hold back anymore! This feels awesome! Raymond picked up Jacko's blade and cracked his neck in relief, making a popping sound while grinning with his teeth revealed like a beast. "You people do not deserve to stand in my sergeant's way." As soon as Raymond finished his sentence, he charged at the crowd like a wolf that was pouncing at a herd of sheep. Not long after that, the hall was filled with painful screams and pathetic begging, but Daniel didn't bother to look back as he walked out the door. The next moment, he was greeted by the sight of the reporters who were standing outside. When they saw him emerging from the conference hall safely, they became too scared to stick around any longer, so they quickly got into their cars and left."My Lord, I'll get the car now," Phantom courteously said and made her way to the car park by herself. Meanwhile, Daniel was left standing at the entrance alone, but even so, he seemed like an intimidating warlord who radiated a strong dominating aura that kept people from getting anywhere near him. In the meantime, Tia, who had been waiting outside for a while, heaved a sigh of relief at the sight of Daniel. She wanted to approach him, but suddenly, Aidan seized her arm and asked with a frown, "What're you doing, Tia?" "I have something I want to say to him," Tia replied. However, Aidan reacted with a darkened look and berated her, saying, "What is that you want to say to him? I thought you hated him. Now that you realize he knows Raymond Estrada, do you want to ingratiate yourself with him because you think I'm low and a disgrace to you now?" As soon as he finished his words, he instantly regretted it. "I'm sorry, Tia. I was just…" "So that's who I am to you on the inside. I'm just going to apologize to him. It's nothing like those ridiculous ideas you're thinking." She then shook off Aidan's hand and walked toward Daniel. At the same time, Daniel got an incoming call while using his phone, but when he realized the call was from Janice, his glacial look immediately faded and was replaced with a panicky one. "Hello, is Denise awake?" "Daniel, are you still at the Four Waves Tower now?" Janice's indifferent voice was heard from the other end of the phone.
