Mr. Mysterious's Spontaneous Bride
Andy felt like a scumbag now. He used to be a scumbag towards Ivy's grandmother, and now he's being a scumbag to two young boys. This relationship issue is really complicated. "After this, don't introduce anyone to him anymore. It's useless." Andy sighed, turned, and went back to his room to rest. On this cruise ship, only Ivy seemed unaware of what had happened. She kept pestering Shawn to tell her, but as soon as she asked this question, the man turned hostile. "In the future, you're not allowed to be alone with Dom anymore!" he reminded her before disembarking the ship. Ivy found it strange, "Why? He's my brother!" "He doesn't see you as a sister," Shawn's voice was displeased. Ivy blinked, laughed, "Who told you? Uncle Jim? I don't know why, but he always wants to return H Capital to me. He doesn’t see me as his family." "You!" Shawn was infuriated! This woman, why is she so clueless? "Shawn, what's wrong with you?" Ivy looked at him innocently, "Are you upset again?!" "In your eyes, am I someone who is always angry and petty?" he asked. "Well, yeah," Ivy counted with her small fingers, "I think you seem to get angry easily, and it takes a long time to calm you down." Shawn widened his eyes. He just quietly looked at her without saying a word. The more Ivy spoke, the more guilty she felt, and in the end, she stopped talking. "Don't look at me like that. I'm just stating facts." "Facts?" The man smiled, disliking that he couldn't say anything about Ivy that wasn't true. So he asked, "Am I really that unbearable?""Not really." Ivy pulled the corner of her mouth, "You're kind of cute like this. You know, I'm a bit boring, a bit awkward, and you..." "That's quite self-aware," the man's expression was full of irony. "But you can entertain myself, which is really great." Luke in front, rolled his eyes. ‘What kind of talk is this? No one in the company has dared to talk to Mr. Tate like this. But forget it, she's the wife. The entire DT Investment has to indulge her.’ Thinking of this, Assistant Luke sighed. In the back, the tug-of-war between Shawn and Ivy had just begun. The man silently stared at this woman who angered him, wanting to tease her, but as soon as he thought of Dom watching from the side, his heart panicked. So he reached out and hugged the back of Ivy's head, leaning in for a kiss. Assistant Luke's eyes gleamed with joy. Subconsciously, he slowed down the car, creating a smooth and ambiguous atmosphere for them. Ivy didn't resist, let Shawn vent, and when the man finally finished venting, she touched her lips innocently, "Feeling better now?" Shawn was genuinely annoyed. “Just hurry up and go home!" They remained silent for the rest of the time. When they reached the doorstep, Ivy received a phone call. "Dr. Jones, hello." The voice was so familiar. Ivy frowned, speculating in her mind, and suddenly a soft laughter came from the other end of the phone. A strangely gentle laughter. "I am Catherine from the previous psychological counseling center." "Dr. Lambert?!" Ivy was somewhat surprised. "It's been a long time since we contacted. How are you?" "I'm fine. I happened to come to City S on business and learned that you're also in City S, so I wanted to see if we could meet." "Sure." Ivy checked the time. "How about tomorrow?""How about tomorrow night, for dinner together?" "Okay." The two quickly agreed on a time. Before hanging up, Catherine suddenly said to Ivy, "Say hello to your family for me, especially to your husband, Mr. Tate." Upon hearing this, Ivy instinctively looked at Shawn. Does Shawn know her? Even with many suspicions in her heart, she politely thanked Catherine. After hanging up the phone, Ivy told Shawn about herself and Catherine. From the moment the man heard Catherine's name, he started massaging his temples, seemingly averse to this person. "She asked me to say hello to you on her behalf," Ivy said, "Do you know her?" "Of course not." Shawn pressed down his irritation, "Maybe you consulted her before because of me." After casually making up an excuse, he looked at Assistant Luke through the rearview mirror. The latter nodded, and the two quickly reached a consensus to prevent Catherine from meeting Ivy. The car soon stopped at the Livingston family's door. Shawn made an excuse to make a conference call and asked Ivy to go in and rest first. As he watched the Livingston family enter the main house, Assistant Luke handed the phone to Shawn. "Mr. Tate, Miss Lambert's call." Shawn took it, put the phone to his ear, and remained silent. On the other end of the phone, Catherine chuckled softly, "Cato, long time no see. I miss you so much." Catherine's voice brought back distant memories for Shawn, memories that he found repulsive. "Where is Harry Jones?" He didn't want to exchange pleasantries with Catherine. If there was nothing to say, he would get straight to the point. Catherine obviously didn't anticipate that Cato Alter would be so direct, and she stood frozen in place. Before, he wouldn't even talk to her more than necessary, wouldn't answer her calls. Now, she seemed to have made some progress, but it was all because of Ivy. She had tried so hard for so long but couldn't compete with that vile woman, Ivy. "He's your father-in-law, so I naturally have to protect him." "How did you get him out of Myanmar?" This was the most troubling aspect for Shawn. Even with years of cooperation with the police and spending a fortune, he couldn't extract a certain person from there. "I have my ways." Catherine's laughter was gentle but filled with teeth-gritting hatred. Shawn heard it. He signaled to his assistant, and the assistant quickly understood, opening his phone and instructing Sanders. "Check Catherine's purpose for returning to the country. Mr. Tate suspects she may be colluding with foreign forces." Sanders quickly responded, "Huh? A spy?! Vile woman!" After a round of cursing, Sanders energetically started his task. Meanwhile, Shawn was still dealing with Catherine. "I know you want him," Catherine said. "As long as you come out to meet me now, I'll give him to you." At the sound of this, Shawn's dark eyes sank. For over a decade, no one had dared to threaten him. "Shawn." Ivy's voice came from afar. He turned to see Ivy standing at the door, waving to him. Warm yellow light spilled down, making her look incredibly gentle and elegant. For a moment, he even felt like she was an angel. All his temper, all his anger, dissipated as soon as he saw her. Catherine was a sensitive person, also a psychologist. She keenly sensed the fluctuations in Shawn's emotions through changes in his breathing rhythm. She tightly gripped her phone, and her eyes and tone became hysterical. "Come see me now, or I'll release Harry Jones, and I'll make him disturb Ivy's peace!" "Location."Harry might not threaten Shawn, but Ivy... "Garden Hotel." ***
