Mr. Mysterious's Spontaneous Bride
Ivy was chatting with her grandfather. Feeling a sudden chill down her back, she turned instinctively to see Shawn speaking with his assistant with a dark expression. "What's wrong?" Ivy walked up to Shawn, softly asking. Shawn let go of the deep frown on his face and smiled at her. "Nothing. Just now, Luke told me a ghost story, but he told it poorly, so it didn't work. A waste of a ghost story, so I'm not very happy." Luke raised an eyebrow on the side, echoing, "Look at my clumsy mouth." That Catherine, was she just a ghost story? "You guys go ahead; I'll go chat with Grandpa." Knowing that her boss and madam had something to discuss, Luke obediently left. Ivy poured a glass of water for Shawn, noticing the lingering gloom in his eyes. She asked, "What happened, really?" Shawn gently held Ivy's hand and played with it. After a while, he explained the ordeal of the Jones family in Northern Myanmar. Ivy took a while to come back to her senses after hearing it all. "So, only Harry is still alive?" Her voice was hoarse. From their departure to Northern Myanmar and then to the destruction of their home, how many days had it been? "More accurately, it's uncertain whether he's alive or dead," Shawn said. He had already decided that, no matter when they found Harry, alive or dead, he would never let him appear. "Should we report it to the police?" "It's already been reported, but it's Northern Myanmar after all. Our people can't enforce the law across borders. We can only hope for the police in Northern Myanmar." However, given the rampant fraud in Northern Myanmar, it was clear that the police forces were likely compromised. Ivy nodded and then shook her head. Looking deeply at Emma's figure in the distance, she made a silent decision. "Can you not tell my mom about this? She has been so miserable because of the Jones family all her life. I don't want her to mourn for them even now." "Okay, I'll follow your lead." Shawn comforted her softly, seeing the woman shivering all over. He frowned, "If you're uncomfortable, tell me. Don't suppress your emotions." Ivy looked deeply into Shawn's eyes, smiled bitterly, and said, "When he went to Northern Myanmar, I knew he might die. But when this day really came, I realized that I could feel pain too." "Regardless, he is your father in a biological sense." "I'm fine. I'll be fine in a while." "If our Dom had the enlightenment of Shawn, he wouldn't be single in his thirties." Andy's voice came into their ears, and Ivy quickly restrained her emotions. "Grandpa, he's just busy with work." Andy smiled and asked, "Isn't Shawn busy?" Shawn and Ivy exchanged glances, both falling silent. To be fair, Dom's love life seemed to have never blossomed. "Give him some time; he will have his enlightenment in the future." Emma gently pinched his father's shoulder and reassured. At this moment, from the distant cruise ship came a splashing sound. Everyone turned around in surprise, and the next moment, they heard two beautiful women shouting frantically: "Oh no! Young Master Dom fell into the sea with his computer!" "Oh no, Young Master Dom can't swim!" "Help! Young Master Dom really can't swim!" "Hurry, bring the cruise ship over," Andy and Emma commanded. Luke, the assistant, didn't dare to delay and promptly went to urge the captain. In no time, the cruise ship was stable in Dom's water area. Ivy leaned over and saw Dom still splashing in the water. Without hesitation, she jumped in. Shawn's heart was in his throat. Ivy could swim, but Dom in the water looked chaotic, with unsteady steps and limbs flailing. He hoped Ivy wouldn't get hurt. "You go down too," he ordered Luke, who had returned in a hurry.Luke didn't hesitate and quickly swam to Dom's side with Ivy to help bring him back on board. In the end, there was a scare but no harm done. Dom still tightly clutched the powerless laptop in his hands. Andy shook his head after confirming that he was fine. "Forget it. Dom can only marry his work in this lifetime." Andy had given up. “Uncle Jim, send the two young ladies back; as an apology, let them choose anything from the travelling package." "Yes!" Uncle Jim quickly left, and after Ivy changed into dry clothes, she saw Dom still on the deck. She poured a glass of water and handed it to him. "Are you really okay?" she asked Dom. The man shook his head when he saw her. "Actually, I can swim." What? He can swim but still flailing in the water? "Did you eat too much?" She raised an eyebrow, sensing the cunning in his eyes, and seemed to understand. "Does Grandpa know?" Dom lifted his arrogant face. "Otherwise, would your grandpa let me off the hook for blind dates? Think about how those two women behaved when I fell into the water. They could swim, but they chose to stand by. I was saved by you on another cruise ship. Tell me, what's the point of marrying such women?" Ivy initially wanted to comfort him, thinking they might just be frightened. But thinking again, it was not about helping or not; jumping into the water to save someone was a subconscious action of someone who knew how to judge water. However, the two women seemed not to care much about Dom's life or death. "Fine." You win. "After this incident, Grandpa should have let it go. He won't force me anymore." "But if you don't get married, you will always be a concern in his heart." Thinking of her grandfather's helplessness and bitterness every time he mentioned Dom, Ivy felt uncomfortable. "Okay, I'll talk to him now." So Dom walked towards Andy. Ivy wanted to follow, but when she saw her mother leaving her seat, she stopped. She saw Dom talking, and with the way both the grandfather and grandson looked at her, Ivy suspected that the conversation had something to do with her. What were they talking about? "Mom, what are brother and grandpa talking about?" she asked Emma in confusion. Emma frowned, "Whatever it is, it's probably not serious. Don't worry." Emma looked melancholic, seeming to guess the content of the conversation, but Ivy couldn't. Ivy then looked up to the second floor where Shawn was. The man was staring at the direction of the grandfather and grandson with a dark expression, his face full of discontent. She quickly ran to the second floor and sat down next to Shawn. "What do you think they're talking about?" The man's gaze was intense. "Be good, don't meddle in other people's affairs." For the first time, Ivy, who was usually not curious, felt a bit uneasy about being so gossip. She and Shawn watched the grandfather and grandson talk. For some reason, as their eyes frequently turned towards her, Shawn's grip around her waist tightened, making her very uncomfortable. Even more curious. But soon, Andy and Dom finished their conversation. In this calm aftermath, it seemed like a stormy and tumultuous conversation had taken place between the grandfather and grandson during Dom's splash into the sea. "What did he say to you?" Emma handed a cup of water to his father, showing some worry. Andy sighed deeply. "He said he likes Ivy." "What?" Emma exclaimed. "Dom said he's quite interested in Ivy now. His curiosity is second only to work, full of interest. He told me not to arrange blind dates for him in the short term. Let him sort out his feelings for Ivy first before saying anything." Andy was extremely helpless and annoyed."In the end, he's someone who has never been in a relationship. He doesn't even understand whether he likes someone or not. He basically has some affection for Ivy but doesn't know how to express it. I thought I had a good sense of relationships when I was young, but when it comes to him, I am just a blockhead." Emma couldn't help but laugh. "Dad, don't forget, he's not related to you by blood. When you brought him back, his worldview and personality had already formed. In the end, he has to figure out this feeling thing on his own." "You're right. Look at me; I instinctively think he's my biological grandson. I've been telling him that if I have a granddaughter, he should marry her. He probably took it seriously a long time ago." At this point, Andy regretfully knocked his thigh. "What a mess. Ivy and Shawn married in a flash, and Dom lost his wife. If I don't like Shawn, it would be simple to play the role of a bad grandfather and break them up. But the problem is, I really like Shawn!" ***
