Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal
Mr. Satan leaned down and asked her, "Did you notice that girl was pregnant?" Emily nodded slightly. "Yeah, I noticed last night at the movie theater. Her belly isn't small, probably around the same stage as mine." She looked up at Mr. Satan and met his gaze. "I'm not doing this out of personal spite. But she's pregnant, and I guess she'll have to take a break from school or even drop out soon. She might not even get her high school diploma. Do you think she can still go to college? And with how recklessly bold she's acting right now, what if she ends up miscarrying? Wouldn't your company have to take responsibility?" Mr. Satan couldn't help but tap her on the nose, smiling. "You think of everything." "Oh my God, what did I just see! My eyes!!!" Ken suddenly yelled out dramatically. All the employees turned to look at them. They saw their boss acting like a bodyguard, wrapping Emily up tightly. They were stuck together like conjoined twins. Daniel clicked his tongue twice. "They're being all lovey-dovey right in front of us. This is just cruel! Boss, you have to treat us to make up for this." These guys were all young, and they could definitely eat a lot. Emily glanced at the large sign on the front desk: $100 per person for the seafood buffet. There were close to 100 people here. Before she could say anything, Mr. Satan had already waved his hand, agreeing. "Eat as much as you like." "Thank you!" The crowd cheered. Emily smiled helplessly. "Your company has such great benefits. Can I get a job here?" "Sure, anytime. Come on, let's go sit over there." Mr. Satan led her to a corner where Ken had already cleared out a spot, shooing people away. Ken asked, "Emily, what would you like to eat? I'll get it for you." Mr. Satan interjected, "Pregnant women shouldn't eat too much seafood. Get something easy to digest.""Got it!" Ken hurried off. Before long, the table in front of Emily was filled with food. Daniel, being bold, came over. "Boss, can I sit here?" "No." "…" Ken patted him on the shoulder. "You really don't get it, do you? Why ask the boss? You should have asked Emily directly." Daniel smacked his forehead. "That was dumb of me." "You've always been dumb." "If you say that again, Ken, I'll pluck all the hair off your legs!" Ken made a silly face at him. Daniel ignored the boss's ban and sat down next to Ken. He commented, "See, that's why a company needs a female boss. Ever since Emily showed up, we've been getting treated by the boss." Mr. Satan shot him a sideways glance. "Did you invite Emily to this place?" "Yeah, I wanted her to experience our lifestyle so she could blend in with the team faster." Mr. Satan didn’t say anything but started peeling a lot of shrimp for Emily, placing them neatly in her bowl, then wiped his hands with a napkin. Mr. Satan said casually, "Then you'll settle the bill later." Daniel was stunned. "I'm paying the bill?" "Yes, you suggested coming here, so who else would pay?" Logically, that made sense, but… Why did Daniel feel like he'd just been set up? Daniel asked, "Boss, didn't you say you'd treat us?" "When did I say I'd pay?""Just a moment ago at the door…" Ken suddenly burst into laughter. "Oh, you're done for, Daniel! The boss only said 'eat as much as you like.' He never once mentioned he'd pay the bill—" It dawned on Daniel, and suddenly the Boston lobster in his hands didn't taste so good anymore. "Boss, you're messing with me, right?" "I'm getting married soon. I can't spend too much money," Mr. Satan said, busy peeling shrimp, a slight smile on his lips. "It's for my wife." Daniel: "…" Mr. Satan was doing this on purpose, wasn't he? These employees were going to eat his entire year-end bonus! Daniel was on the verge of tears. Ken was laughing so hard he had tears in his eyes, clapping his hands. "No wonder you're the boss—well played!" "Ken, shut up—" Emily was laughing so hard. Mr. Satan asked her, "Do you like our company?" "Yeah, I really do," Emily replied. "I've never worked at a design company before. The ones I see on TV are all these business professionals in suits, but I like this atmosphere a lot more." Mr. Satan said, "A company is a team. A harmonious atmosphere helps improve efficiency. Rules and relationships are both important." Emily looked up at him. "Are you teaching me how to manage a company?" "You could say that." Emily shook her head. "I know myself. I'm not really suited for management." Mr. Satan replied, "You were pretty decisive when you turned down that interview candidate today." "I'm worried she'll think I'm a bad person and spread rumors outside," Emily said with some concern. "Will that negatively affect the company?"Mr. Satan shook his head. "Living in this world, you can't avoid being judged. There will always be good and bad opinions. If you're afraid of criticism, you'll never accomplish anything. What attracts employees are the business, competitive salaries, and opportunities for advancement. It doesn't really matter what people say outside." Emily nodded, taking his advice to heart. But there was something else she was worried about… "How much does Daniel make?" "His annual salary is $500,000. Why?" "Are you really going to make him pay? Isn't that a bit much for him?" Mr. Satan laughed. "Don't worry, I was just joking. I'm not going to make him pay." "You already paid the bill?" "No," Mr. Satan said as he fed her a shrimp. "I own this place too." Emily gasped. "But Ken said the owner here gives discounts whenever he sees a pretty girl…" "I'm a businessman. Why would I randomly give discounts?… Oh, but Janet did come here once, and I think I did give a discount that time."
