Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal

Chapter 328 You Stole My Phone

The audience who had already left realized their phone was missing, likely left behind in the cinema. Soon, the same college girl who had caused a commotion at the entrance rushed back inside, heading straight for the edge of the ninth row, searching frantically. “My phone is missing! There’s a thief in this cinema!” Her boyfriend hurried over: “Did you really lose your phone?” The girl nodded vigorously: “It’s the new model I just bought. I’ve only had it for a few days. Someone must have stolen it in the dark during the movie!” The boyfriend frowned deeply: “If it’s lost, it’s lost. With so many people here, it’ll be hard to find.” “No way,” the girl refused outright: “I was sitting right here. Everyone was watching the movie. The thief must be among these people. I won’t let this slide. I need an explanation.” She then ran over to speak with the staff. The staff nodded and used a walkie-talkie to notify the broadcast station. Soon, an announcement asked the audience from rows six to ten to cooperate and help look for the phone. Emily and her group were in the eighth row, only a few seats away from where the phone was lost. They were asked to stay behind. Along with them, a dozen other audience members were also asked to stay. Fortunately, everyone cooperated, pulling out their phones to prove they hadn’t taken it. The girl inspected each phone. The models varied, but none matched hers. When she reached the young mother, her eyes narrowed: “It’s you!” The young mother sighed, showing her phone: “This is my phone.” “It’s you!” The girl suddenly shouted: “You stole my phone! Everyone, look! She’s the only one with the latest iPhone, just like mine! It’s you!” The young mother was stunned: “Is this phone a new model? My husband gave it to me yesterday…”“Don’t make excuses! We argued at the entrance, everyone saw it. You took my phone to get back at me, using your kids as cover to steal things.” That accusation was over the top. The young mother protested: “I know nothing about tech. I haven’t been out for months. I don’t know what new phones are out there. My husband bought me a new phone, and I used it. I’m not poor. I don’t need to steal your phone.” The girl sneered: “Anyone can make up a story. But you’re the only one here with this phone. There’ve been many news reports about mothers using their kids as cover to steal in malls. You brought two kids. That’s suspicious.” The young mother was exasperated: “So what do you want?” “Give me the phone back, or I’ll call the police and have you and your kids arrested. Your choice.” “You haven’t even checked to see if this is your phone,” the young mother retorted: “Have your boyfriend call your phone. See if it rings.” The girl scoffed: “I know you thieves. You’d turn off the phone right away. Do you think I’m stupid?” Her boyfriend approached, hand outstretched, speaking coldly: “Hand over the phone.” “This is my phone. I can’t give it to you.” “Will you give it or not?” “Let’s be reasonable…” Before she could finish, the boy tried to snatch the phone. Holding her baby, the young mother nearly fell from the force. The little girl cried out in fear: “Help my mommy! Please, help my mommy!” Emily had seen enough. She rushed over, first taking the baby from the young mother: “Give me the baby.” Seeing it was Emily, the young mother released her grip. As soon as the baby was out of her hands, the boy shoved her to the ground. There was a collective gasp from the surrounding audience. Some rushed to help the young mother, while a few male spectators restrained the aggressive boy.“Mommy—” The little princess cried loudly, “Mommy, mommy—” Emily held her: “Don’t cry. Can you carry your brother?” The little princess nodded, biting her lip: “I can. I often carry him at home.” “Good.” Emily carefully placed the baby in the little princess’s arms, kneeling down to instruct her: “Go to the front desk and wait for us there. I’ll bring your mommy soon.” “Okay…” Tears streaming down her face, the little girl left quickly with her brother. With the children safe, Emily finally had her hands free. The boy was being restrained by the audience, but the girl wasn’t. The young mother lay on the ground, struggling to get up. She fought to keep hold of her phone, but the girl kicked her hard in the chest. Having just given birth, the young mother couldn’t withstand such treatment. She paled, collapsing in pain. Emily grabbed the girl’s sleeve and slapped her hard. Smack— The force sent the girl stumbling backward, falling heavily to the ground.
