Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal
Emily was momentarily dazed. Her conversation with Herry just now reminded her of a conversation she had with Sophia ten years ago. Back then, she had advised Sophia to focus on her studies and not get involved in relationships, but Sophia didn't listen. She dated many men and even spent nights out with them. Sophia was only fourteen then, just four years older than Herry is now. That was ten years ago. Sophia was no longer the same, and neither was she. "Hey, Emily, why aren't you talking?" Emily stood up. "I'm going downstairs to make you some food to shut your mouth." There were plenty of ingredients in the fridge. Emily made spaghetti. She intended to call Herry to the dining room to eat but worried that his low blood sugar might not have fully recovered. If he fell down the stairs, it would cause many problems, so Emily brought the food to his bedroom. Herry smelled the aroma of spaghetti and meat sauce and sat at the table waiting. Emily placed the plate in front of him. "Eat up." Herry didn't hesitate and started eating immediately. "Wow, your cooking is really good." Herry actually complimented her. Emily was a bit incredulous. "Doesn't your mom's cooking taste good?" "It's not that it's bad; it just feels like something is missing." Herry was engrossed in eating. Soon, sweat beads formed on his forehead. Emily handed him a tissue. "Wipe your sweat." Herry took it naturally and wiped his face. After finishing the meal, Herry let out a satisfied burp, patted his small belly, and was too content to speak. Emily picked up the plate, ready to head to the kitchen. Herry called out to her, "Can I ask you a question?" Emily paused. "Don't try to gossip.""I'm not asking about your boyfriend," Herry said. "Emily, what's really wrong with my sister?" Emily replied evasively, "She's probably just not feeling well." "I don't believe it," Herry said. "There was blood in the living room. I saw it, and she's been groaning all day. I tried to check on her, but my mom wouldn't let me in her room. Is my sister hurt?" Emily left with the plate, not giving a clear answer. "Ask your sister yourself. I don't know much." She walked out, closed the door, and went downstairs. Emily had just finished washing the dishes and putting them away when Logan returned. He seemed very happy, clearly having had a good few days at work. "Oh my God, why is there so much blood here?" Logan was shocked by the blood in the living room. It had been a while, and the bright red blood had turned reddish-brown, the metallic smell had faded somewhat, but it was still clearly blood. "What on earth happened?" Emily pointed upstairs to Sophia's room. "Grace and Sophia are upstairs. You can ask them." Logan hurried upstairs. After tidying up the kitchen, Emily went to the attic to read. That night, Logan slept alone in the master bedroom. Grace didn't appear, and no one mentioned taking Sophia to the hospital. Everyone was silent. Emily sneered, closed the curtains, put away her book, and went to bed. Grace and Logan were very similar in some ways. They were both meticulous egotists willing to sacrifice Sophia's health for their own benefit. In the following days, Sophia didn't step out of her bedroom. Grace brought her meals to her room. One day, Emily saw Grace hastily leave the house and return half an hour later with a package. Emily noticed that the bag had the name of a pharmacy on it. Sophia finally came out of her room ten days later. It was early in the morning. Emily, who was reading after getting up, heard movement on the stairs and went to check. Sophia, though still a bit weak, was slowly coming downstairs, holding the handrail for support. She was dressed in high-end custom-made clothes and had delicate makeup, looking just like her old self. The baby in her womb had been completely eradicated in these ten days, leaving no trace behind. "Good morning, Emily." Sophia even waved at her and greeted her. Emily smiled back. "Good morning." Sophia came downstairs, sat in the dining room, and drank a cup of hot coffee. "Has Nathan come to see you recently?" Emily responded with a question, "Should he come to see me?" "Of course," Sophia smiled smugly. "You two are the real couple. He still cares about you. I actually hope to see you two reconcile." Emily instantly understood the underlying message. Sophia wanted to erase her past with Nathan and conceal their relationship. Emily wouldn't let her succeed. She chuckled, "Sophia, the internet never forgets. You had the reporters write many articles about your engagement with Nathan. All of New York knows. How can you deny it?" "What are you talking about? You left home after a fight with Nathan and had an affair with another man. Nathan was angry, so he had the reporters make up the story about our engagement. He just wanted you to come home." Emily laughed out loud. "You came up with such an excuse in ten days . You've worked hard." "I'm not working hard," Sophia smiled slightly, her eyes narrowed. "If it can make you and Nathan reconcile, my sacrifice is nothing. Emily, the Reed family may not be as wealthy as before, but Nathan is still a CEO. Being with him is much better than being with that fugitive masked man." Emily sneered. "You don't need to worry about my matters, Sophia. Let me give you some advice: being too greedy will lead to your downfall." "Then I'll return your words to you. I make my own decisions and choose my own life. You don't need to worry about me." Emily nodded. "Fine, then I'll congratulate you in advance on becoming Mrs. Norman." Sophia raised her coffee cup, mimicking a toast. "Thank you for your blessing. I wish you and Nathan reconcile soon and have children early."
