Pampered By Billionaires After Betrayal

Chapter 126 Why Did He Lie To Me

Amanda smiled, unsure of how to respond to Emily's words. Right now, the concert was the most important thing. She needed to complete this concert before thinking about how to pay Emily. "Okay, we'll talk after the concert. Please wait backstage for Lucas's touch-up." "Alright." After Amanda left, Emily finally breathed a sigh of relief. She had almost rushed into the VIP room just now, but fortunately, Allen Parker had stopped her. Allen Parker said they were short of makeup artists and asked Emily to do Lucas's makeup. Emily understood why Allen Parker entrusted her with such an important task. It was all because of Mr. Satan. Even professional makeup artists only get to do makeup for the backup dancers on their first job. She was just an amateur, yet she was allowed to do Lucas's makeup. This meant that Allen Parker trusted her. In other words, Allen Parker trusted Mr. Satan. Outside, the cheers of fans erupted, and the music and lights started simultaneously, marking the official beginning of the concert. The people who had been busy backstage had now left, leaving only a few makeup artists resting. She took out her phone and sent a message to Mr. Satan. "Are you busy?" She quickly received a reply. "I'm watching Lucas's concert live. - Satan" Emily chuckled. She knew Mr. Satan never missed the details of her life. He probably already knew she had just done Lucas's makeup. Emily thought for a moment and sent another message: "What do you think of Lucas's makeup today?" "I don't know." Don't know? Emily felt a bit upset. Was he implying that her work was not good? But it turned out that Emily was overthinking it. Mr. Satan's next message quickly followed: "This is my first time watching a concert, so I don't know what other concerts are like. But seeing the female fans so excited they're crying, I guess his makeup is pretty good." Emily laughed. "You're watching the concert at the office?" "I'm at home." "Home?" "Yes, I was supposed to have dinner with a friend, but he canceled at the last minute. He said he was going on a date and didn't have time to eat with me, so I came home." Emily bit her lip, feeling a bit guilty. "There's salad in the fridge. If you're hungry, you can eat it. I'll be home in four hours. I'll cook for you when I get back. What do you want to eat?" "I won't eat." Emily frowned. "You can't just not eat." This time, Mr. Satan took a long time to reply. Emily waited for a while but didn't get a reply. She thought he might be in a meeting, so she put away her phone and started tidying up the makeup station. Beep beep beep— "Emily, I'm heading to the stadium now. Meet me when you're done." Emily thought about it; he probably wanted to eat at a restaurant. So she agreed: "Okay, see you in a bit." "See you in a bit." Just as she put away her phone, Emily saw Olivia rushing in with a coffee. Her face was red, and she was panting heavily. "Emily..." Emily quickly went up to support her. "Why are you running like this? Sit down and rest for a while." Olivia's eyes scanned the makeup room, frowning. "The boss isn't here?" "No, he should have left already. Did you go out to get him coffee?" Olivia was so exhausted she didn't even want to blink. "He really did make things difficult for me. He said he wanted coffee, but didn't he know the roads are blocked by fans? My God, I was nearly crushed. Now I've got the coffee, and he's not even here!" Emily handed her a glass of ice water. "Stop talking for now, just rest." But how could Olivia's mouth ever stop? "It's completely exhausting! But my hard work is paying off. Let me tell you, tonight the boss is going to have dinner with Mr. Satan! He agreed to take me along! Soon, I'll know who Mr. Satan really is!" Emily sighed when she heard this. "Olivia, I need to tell you something too." "Go ahead," Olivia waved her hand but then seemed to realize something: "Don't tell me you already know who Mr. Satan is." Emily shook her head. "No, no, I still don't know his identity..." "That's good," Olivia smiled. "Emily, I will definitely help you find out who Mr. Satan is." Emily forced a smile. "But... you might not see Mr. Satan tonight." "Why?" Olivia stood up straight away. "Did the boss change his mind? Is he taking Kim instead?" "Mr. Satan just called me. He said he's at home now and that his dinner plans for tonight were canceled." "What???" Olivia was nearly hysterical. "So the boss lied about having dinner with Mr. Satan? Is he playing a prank on me?" Emily coughed lightly, not revealing everything Mr. Satan had said. Silly girl, Allen Parker did this just to spend more time with you! Emily smiled softly. "He might not be messing with you. Maybe he has other plans for you to attend?" "I'm not going! If Mr. Satan isn't coming, then I'm not going!" Olivia stormed out angrily. "No, I need to ask him what's going on! Why did he lie to me?""Olivia..." "Emily, stop making excuses for him. I really don't get it. Why is he treating me like this? We have no grudges between us..." Saying this, Olivia had already left the makeup room. Emily thought about it but decided not to chase after her. This was something between them. She hoped Allen Parker would confess his feelings soon; otherwise, Olivia's misunderstandings would only deepen. She wished them a smooth path in their relationship.
