The Second Love

Chapter 205 Bad Mood

Keep drinking like what? Dominic's drinking again? Ever since I dated Dominic, I had never let him drink, except when he needed to socialize for work. Even when he drank, I would always advise him to drink less because he had a weak stomach. It was important that he had to take care of his health after all. I was worried that he would develop a terminal illness if he drank too much. Back then, I told Dominic that I wanted to explore the boundless world, but I wanted him to be by my side. Dominic promised me that he would take care of himself so that he could travel around the world with me in the future. Therefore, when I heard Calvin's words, the first thing I felt was worry. Calvin was usually a calm person. Seeing his reaction at that moment, I could tell that Dominic must be drinking a lot. How could he do this to himself? Has he forgotten that he has a weak stomach? However, after pondering for a while, I had an urge to curse. Everyone is responsible for taking care of themselves. He is not a child anymore. If he wants to suffer, it's none of my business. He has nothing to do with me now! “Ms. Zanetti, Mr. Hartnell—” As Calvin spoke, I interrupted him by saying, “Don't tell me anything about him. Just let him do whatever he wants. I'm neither his mother nor a doctor. So why should I care? Calvin, you can leave now. I'm going home as well.” At that moment, a taxi was driving past, so I quickly hailed it. How lucky. I couldn't call for a ride for so long, and now there is one driving by. Before Calvin could even react, I got into the taxi and told the driver to drive off immediately. Although Calvin did not manage to stop me, he followed the taxi I was in along the way. The taxi driver was worried that I had messed with some hooligans and even offered to help me call the police. Calvin was following me closely, and that made me extremely anxious. In the end, I got down from the car before I arrived at my rented house. That was because I did not want Calvin to know where I was staying. It made me speechless when the taxi driver asked me to pay the fare before he even stopped the car. After I got out of the taxi, the taxi driver sped off immediately. Calvin got out of his car and repeated his request the next moment. In all honesty, I wanted to leave right away since my house was only a few streets from where I was. Nevertheless, I stared at Calvin for some time and did not leave. After letting out a heavy sigh, I turned around to open his car door before I got into the car. Calvin was a smart man. He quickly got into the car as well.Along the way, Calvin and I did not say a single word. While I was looking at the scenery outside the window, I started convincing myself. This is the last time I'll ever see him. I'll just dissuade him. If he doesn't listen, I'll just let him be. After all, I don't need him anymore in the future. Initially, I thought that Calvin would bring me to Dominic's place, but he pulled over at Sunshine Street. Sunshine Street was a famous street in Lightspring. There were various types of bars as well as hotels along the street. Although it was around midnight, Sunshine Street was still crowded with wealthy men and beautiful women. There were numerous luxurious cars parked at the side of the road. I could not help but look at the women who wore revealing clothes. I'm already feeling cold just from looking at their exposed long legs and cleavages. Why is Dominic here, though? Did he come here to socialize?I was not too fond of crowded places, so I had never followed Dominic to those kinds of events. Also, I found it very boring as I did not know any of the people at those events. Moreover, I was never worried that Dominic would mess around with other women in those kinds of events. I couldn't stop him if he wanted to do it anyway. Although I had never attended any socializing events with Dominic, I knew well that the people whom Dominic dealt with were reputable and had high statuses. Those people would never come to Sunshine Street. I'm sure of it. I turned around and looked at Calvin, who was beside me. “Why did he come here? For business? Has he been here before?” I could sense that Calvin was feeling uneasy upon hearing my questions. He avoided my eyes and did not respond. It seemed like he was pondering on how to respond at that moment. Finally, after some time, he answered, “Mr. Hartnell is in a bad mood.”He is in a bad mood, so he came to vent his emotions? As I mulled over Calvin's words, he brought me into a bar called Charm. It was a pretty sizeable bar, and business was booming. However, the place was so noisy that I got a headache the moment I stepped inside. Fortunately, Calvin hurriedly led me away from the crowd and the lively dancing hall. We finally got to the back of the shop. Arriving in a corridor, I noticed that there were two guards standing at the entrance. Are they going to inspect us before we pass through? However, when Calvin and I walked past, the guards did not stop us. I guessed that the guards recognized him. After some time, Calvin finally came to a halt. I lifted my head and saw the golden numbers displayed on the door—8888. When I was about to push open the door, Calvin grabbed the doorknob. I instantly turned to the latter in confusion. What now? I'm here but you won't let me go in? As he looked at me, Calvin said solemnly, “Ms. Zanetti, please convince Mr. Hartnell to stop. He has been continuously drinking for days now. If he keeps doing this, his body will not be able to take it anymore.” I was stunned upon hearing that. Did he just say Dominic has been continuously drinking for days? And I thought I was drinking a lot today. Without saying a word, I nodded at Calvin. However, after I pushed the door open and saw the scene inside, I almost chuckled in a fury. How amusing! There were over ten people inside the room. All of them were women, except for Dominic. There were various types of beautiful women surrounding him. At that moment, Dominic was drinking with a beautiful long-haired woman in his arm. I turned to Calvin, who was gasping in shock before I asked, “I thought Mr. Hartnell was in a bad mood. It doesn't seem like it. He looks quite happy.”Before Calvin could respond, Dominic approached me with the long-haired woman by his side.
