You Were Warned

Chapter 194 Chaos

Chaos It was not too long ago that Iravu and Zagi had left saying they were going to get the medallion that was around Merna’s neck. At last mentioned Pirapancam’s seer was not able to break the seal. My dear beloved sister was going to take it with her to the outer reaches of the universe, where they were going to see if they could break the seal. Ihel and Ime had been training my hunters. Though many of them were skilled killers, what they were to go up against surpassed their training. Those who could not keep up with the demand had been placed on security duty. Several times now the male constellation cancel had also joined my elites. Ihel brought to my attention how my hunters treated Ime. Even though she handled the situation on her own. If Ime was receiving this treatment, it was safe to say my hunters will treat the female warriors of the Constellation the same as well. This is something I had told Merna to expect. I was not opposed to females learning how to defend themselves … being on the battlefield, I was not in favour of that thought. Opportunities for females here were limited. Not many strived to break the routine that for generations females have taken up. There were no rules that stopped a female from taking a position that was dominated by the male gender. To know that the constellation had members that held positions as health care providers, would not bother anyone. Fighters would be a different situation. After the last purge, I had not accepted any. Even knowing Merna has learned to fight, bothered me. When Ime suggested that we observe a training session I was hesitant but agreed nevertheless. Children from the ages of four to ten boys and girls stood and eight different rows of ten children. Each child first was instructed and stretched, expanding on their flexibility. Next, each child was expected to perform the basic moves that the instructor commanded. I found out that the name of the commander was Orion's father, who retired not long ago. All of the constellations who can no longer fight on the battlefield took up positions of teaching allowing them to be a participant in the community. Merna did not want the elderly to feel like they were being shoved to the side. However, she realized that the elderly placed everyone at risk if they entered the battlefield. The biggest concern everyone had was the welfare of the children when the parents were gone. With the elderly taking up this role, everyone was involved. The Constellation Council would walk back and forth correcting the children's posture. Off to the side, the parents would watch their children. The youths waited for their turn. For one hour the young children trained. Before the children were let go to return to the parents Merna spoke to them all. Studying the white-eyed children, “What is rule number one?” All together the children yelled, “run away!” Smiling, “good what is rule number two?” Again the children yelled, “Hide!” “Excellent, what is rule number three?” “Do not come out of our hiding even if we think our mommy or daddy are calling us!” Clapping her hands together, “good why do we do this?” “Because somebody could be pretending they are mommy and daddies. Our mommy and daddies will know where we are and they will get us.” Happy with their reply, “excellent you've done well for today go back to your parents next group … Ladies and gentlemen from the ages of eleven to eighteen lineup please.” Similar to the young children, the young adolescents stood and columns of nine to ten children in each row. For two hours the youths stretched, went through the drills and had one-on-one training with the constellation Council each taking their turn. Before the adolescence we're free to go. Merna spoke to them as well. “What is the first rule?” Myrna positioned herself to display her leadership. “Do not be the hero!” Holding her head high, “What is the second rule?” “Get the children out of danger!” “What's the third rule?” “If we are backed up into a corner, only then do we fight, this is to help us get away from danger.” “All of you are doing very well. I expect many of you, when you come of age, to join our army to further protect the people and our homes and the realms! You're all dismissed! adults it is now your turn!” There were a lot more individuals than I had anticipated. Out of the group, there were only fifty two females. Seven of those females were warriors in training, the rest of them were nurses or doctors. It was a suggestion of Merna's to give the doctors and nurses basic training. It was a theory that the survival rate would be higher if the doctors and nurses were near the battlefield ready to go to the aid of the fallen soldier. I comprehend the concept of this yet, there was something about them being close to the battlefield or on the battlefield that bothered me. It seemed to me that every step the constellation council made was based on a theory that Merna had. These theories were based on a higher survival rate. The majority of her strategies were based on defence versus attack. Only the elites were given extra training in attack strategies. Of the one hundred and forty elite members only fourteen of those were female. Studying the fourteen female elites I was starting to wonder if my men could hold up against them. They were more than impressive; they were astonishingly organized, possibly more vicious than the males. After the session with the constellation, Merna came back to my place. From there she spent hours studying the laws that were in place for all the realms. Going over the treaties that have been signed. Ime then spent an hour going over proper etiquette and how one is to greet other high ranking species. Iravu did not want a repeat of what happened with the Triad Council. Of all the training that Merna would have to go through this was the area that we figured she would struggle the most. When she was informed that she would have to bow to the Triad and other gods and goddesses Merna told us all that she does not bow to no man or woman. If they wanted her respect they would have to earn it, respect would come at a cost. I pinched the bridge of my nose as Merna went back to her place for resting time. I knew when I found out that Merna was a fighter, she was going to be a handful. I did not think she would be in this level of trouble. “She is perfect!” Ashur patted me on the shoulder, “We are going to have strong sons and daughters … I can see it already now!”
