You Were Warned

Chapter 179 Parppavar

Parppavar Pacing my domain, I was thinking about how things have been declining. What was one inconvenience has turned into one issue after another. The reports from my spies have for the most part stopped. It has been almost a full blood moon since I received news from my spies. Those that secretly work for me have not been doing their jobs as well. Any task I sent their way has not been answered promptly. To my displeasure, nothing has happened. News on my so called brother's actions stopped completely. My actual brothers and sisters feared that Chaos knew what was going on. All summonings that I sent out to Chaos had gone unanswered as well. I tried to reach those that are kin that reside in my so called brother's castle. To my frustration, they too did not send word back to me. Worst of all, more bodies of serfs have been brought back to me with the same writing carved into their dead bodies. First I would getting one or two brought to me, now each day there are twenty five being killed in where I had sent them to work. Even when I changed their drop off, bodies would be found. Most troubling part, no one could gather information to lead me to the killer. This only adds to my frustrations! If it were not for my spies in the cities and towns that were placed nearby Chaos’ castle, I would have thought my brother disappeared. Though that would not have been a terrible thing to happen if it had been that way. I found out from reports that Chaos has locked down his whole domain and surrounding land. All of those that were considered to be suspicious in their movement had been apprehended. The majority of them are not to be seen again. Taking more of my spies away from me. Only three had been sent back. When those who had been sent back to their homes had been questioned by my spy that remained in the location. They reported that all three said the same in response to their questions. They could not remember what happened. They only knew they were taken and nothing more. This told me that the three fools had their memory wiped clear, leaving nothing but a void. This placed my siblings on edge. They feared Chaos and his retribution if he should find out what we have been doing since the last purge. I laughed and reminded them that even if Chaos found out what we had been doing, once we got our hands on the little redhead … Chaos and everyone with him would not be able to contend with us. The focus was on the hybrid … but where was the little human born? It was like she dropped out of the physical realm and was hiding somewhere else. The last report on the hybrid was when the hybrid blinded my serf Morgan and his host Edwards. Finn, a serf of mine, who also worked with Morgan, strolled by the hybrid's dwellings to find out that my assassin had failed to complete his task. There had been only one small little issue, the assassin has yet to come back to me grovelling ... begging for another chance to prove that he is worthy to be seen in my presence. There was still another issue as well, even in a cop's body, Finn was unable to step onto the hybrid's dwelling. Everyone I had sent has not been able to step foot on the land. They even went as far as to throw rocks towards the house. That too was pointless, it only went back at them as it bounced off the protection the hybrid had around the land. I sent my best mages, instructing the pathetic life forms to break what the hybrid had around her place. They came back to me on their hands and knees begging to be spared. If a mage could not break what was erected, a sorcerer would surely be able to do something. They tried a direct approach and found no success. They tried to go under the house only to find out that the land was protected. They even went as far as to attack from above the house. The only thing that they could think of was that this was blood magick. Something I banned from other practitioners from performing. There was even a signed agreement that all agreed, minus a few that would not bow to my command. Stating that Chaos did not deem this unlawful so they would not comply. After all, Chaos was the master of all! Back then from the report, I was told all of the sorcerers who did not sign, plus their families had been disposed of. Zane and McCain, two brothers, remained on Chaos’ territory for the longest time, slipping away in the sands of time. Agnas Hunter, Maria Stoneheart as well as Skylar Whitmor all were able to keep me at bay, never bowing to my demand. After several hundred attempts to kill them, Mannel advised me that it was pointless to waste more time on old hags. Death would claim them soon enough. ‘Is it possible that one of them should still live?’ An impossible thought, this treaty was signed over 7646 years ago. The hags were already nearing their death bed at last count. ‘Could one of their offsprings be working with Chaos?’ That is a possibility that did not come to mind until now. Each hag was proficient in blood magick. Each is skilled in the art of death and protection. Each of them birthing several versions of themselves. It would be possible that after all of this time, the hag's bloodline would survive unnoticed for generation after generation. It was not like my assassins were able to locate and find the animals. “I knew I should have continued to attack the swines!” I hissed as I disorganized my personal chamber. I stood in front of my mirror, pushing my hair out of my face. This hybrid was not like the other human borns. The other human borns, they did not know of their hidden gene that linked them to the magical realms. They were quick to hunt down and kill. Acquiring their power! Even if they knew their bloodline, they were easily overpowered, unable to connect to their roots. Baring my teeth, all hints of pleasantry are gone! This hybrid knew of her power and showed she had control. I began to laugh with venom! This IT will be the most advanced we have collected since the last purge. Focusing on Mannel, I sent him a summoning. Telling him to meet me at our spot of conversation. This hybrid was not going to get away from me that easily. If anyone can get the redheaded hybrid that would be Mannel. The second oldest of us all. I opened a vortex to my dear brother's domain, "There is more than one way to capture a slippery snake!"
