You Were Warned
Ime My brother Ihel and I were waiting for my mate in my grandmother's private office. Grandmother told us what our task was, the expectations and we were to do nothing more. Materializing before us Merna presented herself. Merna steps over to our grandmother, "Sorry that I am late, I had to bury an assassin!" She turned towards me. Grandmother narrowed her eyes on my mate, "Another attack?" My brother's voice boomed, "You bow when speaking to our queen!" His eyes were blackened at Merna's disrespect towards our queen. Merna was about to say something when Grandmother spoke, "We are in private Ihel. At this point, there is no time for formalities." She took her attention from Ihel to Merna, "Do you know the attacker?" "Recognition only ... not by name ... The attacker was once on of Parppavar’s or he could have been Mannel’s." She spoke while her sight was dead pinned on my brother. "I do not have time for nitpicking or quarrelling. I have to get ahead of Parppavar and Mannel!" Merna conveyed her attention back to my grandmother. "At this point, they still believe me to be a human born that is a human hybrid. This is the only advantage I have against them right now. The faster I move ... the better for everyone!" Grandmother stood up from her chair. "Merna this is Ihel, my grandson and his sister Ime!" She did the introductory. I had to lower my head to shield the smile on my face. No one was to know that Merna and I were mates. This information would be released at a later event when we were not getting ready for war. Merna nodded her head once at my grandmother, "I will have your grandchildren back in no time Iravu!" Merna said with a smile. Merna's smile was like a ray of daylight, radiating away from the everlasting abyss. "Both of my grandchildren are well trained in combat, they will ensure your safety." Grandmother glared at Ihel, "Ihel is fluent in all languages of the ancients. As Ime is fluent in all earthly languages!" She carried her attention around to Merna, "They will translate if the occasion should come." "Much appreciated! This will make things proceed smoother and more efficiently. Do you have the accommodations ready for the guests?" My mate began to chuckle.Joining Merna in the humour, "OH, dear child ... this event if it pans out to our favour will be glorious!" Grandmother cleared her throat. "All of you be careful!" "I have my alarm set on my watch, for four earth hours of work!” “Then you should be on our way!" Getting outside of my grandmother's terrain. My Mate had manifested a map of the universe that she had created. It was not conventional like what Ihel or I have seen. It had several small dots representing moons, suns or planets. Merna explained that each object admits energy. No different than we do! Without being physically there, she can see in her mind what the object is. She called this remote viewing. Merna continued to say that she can feel different energies and the path which it goes. Like an invisible string, she can feel and see it. What Merna was searching for was an object that disrupts this string all of a sudden. She uses the map to visually see sudden movement, to follow this up she looks to the string to see if it has suddenly been disrupted. She explained that if the string was abruptly shifted, the string's move would have a bend in it instead of a smooth flowing motion. The three dimensional map was huge. To scan the thing by oneself would take a lot of energy. “Does it matter what part of this map gets finished first?” Ihel asked. Merna huffed out loud, “The prisons move from one part to a different section. Parppavar made sure that the prison would only stay in the area for a certain time frame. Each time we find a place, get there, do what is needed. We will have to do this whole procedure over again!” “That would explain why no one has ever found the prisons!” “I think I understand your process, you take this part and I will search this section. Ime?” I had to shrug my shoulders, “what area am I taking?” “Overlap the two areas, this way there are more sets of eyes. We will not be given much time to get there. And before we leave I have to make sure it is safe to portal there. This is not something that is easy but it is achievable!” What we were searching for was irregularities, objects that moved freely with no balance at all. They were the energies that broke the rules. ‘How hard could the search be?’ I thought to myself. Ihel pointed at the map, “There! The map changed sporadically!” Merna’s eyes landed on the spot, closing her eyes, she was silent. “We need to leave, the location will only be there for so long!” Merna made the map disappear and opened a portal to the destination we were heading to. Getting to the location, it was clear it was a prison. I figured this place could hold ten thousand species with no problem. Ihel and I made sure that it was safe for Merna to wander up to the gate. The door was made of copper metal bars that were fifteen feet tall. To ensure no one would break out, the lock was enchanted, making it close to impossible for anyone to break the prisoners free. My brother hissed, taking his hands off of the bar. We could hear the shuffling of feet, faces started to come to the entrance. “Do you mind telling them what our plan is Ihel?” Merna never once took her eyes off of the prisoners. The males laughed when Ihel told them that Merna was going to free them. Explaining that Parppavar and Mannel were planning a new purge. Understandably many of them did not want to get involved with anything dealing with those two. The price they paid for eternal darkness. The only company they had were those that resided inside with them. An unjustifiable punishment! “Tell them it does not matter if they join Chaos and Iravu on the battlefield … I will still set them free!” I relayed the message to the prisoners. They had been silent, only a few mumbled among themselves. As Merna stepped forward the group started to laugh. One of them asked what could one small human born do that the others could not. Merna’s eyes started to glow as her hand neared the locked latch. Streams of light came from Merna’s body. Where there was absolute darkness, the light pushed it away. I could not help it, I stared at her in complete compassion and aw! “She is your mate?” Ihel whispered into my ear. I did not deny nor acknowledge the truth. “I can tell … you are smiling like mother does, when our father comes home.” Merna may have been more phoenix than dragon! But her dragon aspect was showing in her power. “Impossible!” One yelled. The latch fell to the ground with a thud.A dragon pushed to the front of the group, “what is her parentage?” Responding to the question, I remembered what my grandmother had told me, “she is an orphan!”
