You Were Warned

Chapter 162 Zefer

Zefer I was pissed when I found out that my little sister was mated to a weak human born. And because of what the redhead said, my father blindly went along with it. I had to endure the painful sight of my baby sister shining with happiness. 'Does she not realize that all prospect of a profitable life has gone down?' I stormed out of this place, my set destination was the redhead that Ashur and my father had fixated on lately. On her deck, the hybrid was sitting in a chair, looking out at the road. Spotting me she nodded her head once, rotated her wrist, then motioned for me to enter. I found this action to be odd behaviour since it was not too long ago that I had stepped onto the land. The hybrid motioned her head in the direction, giving a slight jerk of the head. It was then I comprehended her actions. One of Parppavar’s spies was watching Merna’s every move. The hybrid smiled at the spy at the same time waving. I was about to deal with the trespasser when my father's men pounced on the spy. Dragging the fool away, I directed my feet towards the individual I wanted to have words with. Following my brother and father's mate, I stormed through the front door! "Close the door please!” She yelled. “I am in the kitchen, Zefer!" I could hear the hybrid yelling. Once I could see her, "you have questions and I have the answers!" The redhead rotated her wrist as a chair moved out. Finally looking up from her bowl, "I did try to hold off on eating, I knew you would be coming ..." She placed the spoon in the bowl, "But I could not wait any longer!" Gesturing to the chair, "please sit!" I was fuming so much that I could not get myself to sit, "That is my baby sister!" "I know!" She said calmly, "But she needs Steve like you need to kill!" She got up from her spot with the bowl. "I am about to make some tea, would you like a cup?" "No!" I snapped, "How do you know all of this? Are you a seer?" "Oh dear god no!" She began to chuckle, "Please do not place me in that bunch!" She turned on the tap, "I may have dreams, but they are unreliable!" I was seeing red! If she was not a seer, then how did she know I was coming? How does she know so much about what is going on? I brought my attention back to my baby sister, Anatu!"So my sister's happiness... that could be a ..." I was yelling. "No! What I saw with Anatu ... that was not a dream!" She placed the pot on the stove. "I have dreams ... those events can change!" The redhead inhaled, "then there are ... what I like to call ... events that will be with different roots!" She got a cup, "Are you sure you do not want a cup of tea?" I growled at her, her politeness was nauseating me! Continuing to speak, “What is going on with Anatu, is what happened in the last timeline!” She glanced my way. “I already gave Aruru the Medallion that was around my neck. This I am sure is knowledge to you already, but I will repeat myself. A mage fucked with the time line. Anatu and Steve were bound to meet each other. I just sped things up this time. By passing all of the unpleasantries. This does not stop what is to come!” I sat down in the chair that was offered to me. As much as I tried to remain livid with the situation, things were starting to add up. Her knowledge of us … father's paranoid behaviour … how mother acquired a mate, something my father has never allowed up until now. Father blind faith in someone that we all do not remember. “You are sceptical of me, that I understand! If I were you, I would react the same way. I do not care if you question what I say and place it to a test! The only thing I ask is you do not disregard the warnings I give you.” She started to toss her head back and forth. “Your father believes that he is untouchable. And for the longest time that was true. But if my remote viewing is correct … Mannel and the rest of them have been collecting since the last purge. They have acquired enough power to cause your father a lot of grief. And they are nearly close to meeting their goal.” I listened to this point without saying a word. I studied her words, and body language to see if she was lying. “Explain … What are the events with different roots mean? Your terms do not make sense to me." The hybrid explained to me that like a tree, there are many roots, some minor, others major and then there is the main root. The main root of this event would be Mannel and Parppavar taking what is not theirs and preparing for the next purge. The major root would be the other realms and how they associate with each other. With that, there are the different species that are around the realms. The important things that matter in a society. The minor roots are the events that change. Many seers or those that dream, see these events. The minor roots are of one individual and what will happen to them. “The tricky part about the minor roots would be free will. Anyone can change that path with the snap of a finger. Or an unseen event can change the course of where the path will go.” My brother and father's mate finished off. “Okay so a mage messed with the timeline, sending you backwards. What now? How will things be different?”She poured the water into a cup. Getting another one, she repeated her actions. She brought over the drinks. Placing one in front of me. “Like you I did not believe what I saw in the dreams … so I fact checked everything! Remote viewing aided me as well. Everything is lining up! From the missing humans … to the movement that is going on around your fathers house … Steve and Camile … everything!” "Simplify things!" I snapped. “I want to know everything that you saw!” “Chaos did not tell you!?” Her expression was laughable and I would have done so if my father’s behaviour was not out of character. “He has placed us in a need to know basics.” “Make sense … If I can remote view your fathers lands, so can someone else! I can understand your fathers unwillingness to share information.” Merna began from the beginning. Telling me how the other timeline played out. There were a few things that she could not tell since all her information was based on what she saw and what she did. Merna described what my fathers so called siblings looked like, a rough description of the location she saw them at. She even told me the layout of my father's home. This was enough to convince me she had the sight. It was not enough to convince me she knew what was going on. That is when Merna gave me the papers of proof of human borns being taken. At first, I did not care about the situation, one less human born to worry about. “This does not matter … This is a human born issue, they are considered missing! Why should this matter?” Getting up from her spot Merna pulled out a box filled with slips of paper. I knew these pages by sight. Father would have them in his hands when the event required his attention. Shuffling through the pile of pages the elemental gave Merna, she placed them over top of the paper she printed off with the missing human borns. “Why it is so important is because each missing person is linked to the other species … They are hybrids. These hybrids are being hunted down. And if you look at the dates … they go missing in groups! In the same rough location as well!” I studied the dates in the first pile, five human borns went missing. I did not find this suspicious. Human borns go missing or get killed all the time. It was the second group of papers that convinced me. Fifty four men, women and children, nine of them were families. Each page was matched up with what Merna had found. “Why does my father not have this information?”“Funny how you said that … they have reported this information, and nothing has been done about it. Take a look at the next pile!” All over the world in one day, sixty sight hybrids had gone missing! I flipped through the information that was in my hands. Glancing over at Merna’s hands she was holding onto a far size stack of pages. “Are those reports linked to the missing human borns?” Clearing her throat, “they are! But I was not able to find any connection in the physical realm. So I am going to guess they are runaways or no one has reported them yet to the police. It does not matter, the elementals gave me this information!” “Why are they dealing with you and not …” “They tried to get your father involved, and received no action nor a word. The zodiac, constellation, only dealt with attempted abductions past that; they allowed the human authorities to take over the investigation knowing it would go nowhere. All of the other leaders of domains, do not give a shit about a human being going missing. Just like you … it is a human problem not yours!” Her tone was laced with bitterness. “I am the only one that has taken interest in this topic. I am the only one who has stopped more than a hundred attempts.” Merna blows on the tea, "this time though they messed up! If the mage did not play with the timeline, I would have been left like everyone else ignorant to the extremity of this situation. The vile has been peeled away and I now know what they are trying to do … I plan on being the thorn in the side to stop them!" "How so?" “I am expecting that now Chaos has gotten the medallion and paper with all of the names I know to be traitors, spies and those that behave with suspicion. He will take action on his side, that I know for sure. How he handles himself depends on his temper. On this side I will do everything to hinder … if possible stop Mannel and Parppavar’s plans. This should be enough to stop the purge!” “Does my father know?” “I did not even tell Pierre what I have been up to!” “You said that my father was to get a list of names!?” Merna had explained how she put the list in Pierre’s belongings. The names would only appear for my father's eyes. To anyone else, it would look like a folded up page. “There might be an issue … the bugbears destroyed everything in their path.” Merna pulled out a folded piece of paper, “It is a good thing I made a copy then!” Handing it to me, “Only your fathers eyes will be able to see this list!”I was getting ready to leave when Merna stopped me. Telling me that someone was trying to view her domain. I did not question her, to this point, I did not have any reasons to doubt her. I glanced at the pile of paper and reports from the elementals. Noticing this action Merna told me to take it with me. To further prove that foul play was going on. Leading me to a dark room, I noticed how similar this was to my father's. Giggling, Merna told me how she got the idea from my father. One more thing that convinced me of her truthfulness. I was not fully convinced that Merna was suited for my brother or father. Yet I could not deny that she would be a suited addition to my father's ranks.
