You Were Warned
Ashur I watched as the moving truck drove into my father's territory. Following the truck to a vacant cabin, I came to realize they planned on moving in. A male and his fury companion stepped out of the truck. Aiming my feet towards the property, I soon found out that I was unable to gain entry. I still did not see a full view of the male's face, I did not need to. The second he opened the back of the moving truck, I could smell my mate. The hint of wildflowers engulfed my nostrils. The male that was unloading the belongings had to be Sadragon's mate. There was a smile on my face, the anticipation of seeing my redhead was killing me. After moving more than ten boxes, I came to realize that my redhead was not there. My smile turned into a face of fear! Could something have happened to her that she found her demise? It was not like I could go and ask Sadragon about my little redhead. No one knew what she meant to me but Father. I was about to leave when Sadragon's mate answered his device, "I am getting a lot done!" The male made a disgruntled expression. "Are you driving?" He paused, "Merna pay attention to the road ... yes I know! Pay attention to the road you dumbass!" The Male was very upset. "Yes, I will see you when you get here ... Okay bye!" 'Could it be that my redhead's name is Merna?' The smile had returned to my face once again. "What are you watching Ashur?" Sadragon started to stroll in my direction. Once he realized I was scooping out the location, Sadragon let out a low growl, "That is my mate! Wait for your own!" I could not help myself, "I wonder if your mate knows how possessive you are?" I crossed my arms over my chest, "besides ... somewhere out there ... My mate is waiting for me!" I wanted to tell Sadragon how I already had found my mate. That our mates are the ones moving into this cabin. Yet I remembered how my father and I agreed that we should leave the redhead to live out her life as is. When the time comes I can collect her. I smiled to myself! Father might have suggested that we do not interfere with the little redhead's life but he did not say I could not visit her! The way I see it, we could work on things slowly … I had no issues getting to know her … it is not like WE had to rush things, we will have eternity to be together. "What are you smiling about?" Sadragon snorted at me. Clearing the back of my throat, "I thought you said your mate was moving in with you! It appears that he is moving in here." Sadragon gave me a large grin, "Pierre is! He just wants to make sure his platonic sister, Merna ... is set up and does not have to want for nothing in his absence." My smile grew, 'I was correct in my assumption!' Chuckling, "you two are perfect for each other!" "Do not start teasing me Ashur! Just remember your day will come and trust me brother ... I do believe in revenge!" Sadragon said as he started to stroll towards the cabin. I was about to warn him about the protection that had been set up when he was able to move towards his mate. "Sadragon!" He paused his movement when I called his name. "There is a protection placed up around the property, I searched the location completely!" I exclaimed to him. "I know!" He had an ear-to-ear grin on his face, "Merna set it up the last time they were here. Only allowing me in and everything else out!" Sadragon started to laugh as if he knew something that I did not. I was angry that Sadragon had gained entrance and I was to stand at the edge of the property. The only thing that made this situation better was knowing that my mate was strong enough to protect the home she was moving into. By the time Merna had driven into the driveway, Pierre had made at least fifty trips in and out of the building. "Hey, stranger!" My little redhead said as she closed the car door. I could not believe my eyes! Using her mind boxes started to be directed into the place. For a hybrid, she was a rare specimen for sure. This type of strength does not happen. "Impressive do you not think?" Sadragon said over my shoulder, "I have been watching her advance with ease. I have recommended to your father that he might want to adopt this one into the rankings." I narrowed my eyes on my long-time friend, "What is she to you? Why have you been watching ... her?" I had to calm down before I made a scene. Sadragon patted me on the shoulder, "Do not be wary my friend ... Merna lives with Pierre, it was not like I went out of my way to watch her!" I sniffed the air hoping to get more of her scent. "You know what I find interesting about this situation?""What is that?" Sadragon had his sights set on his mate. Pointing out my observations, "I can not pick up any hint of Merna's powers! Now that I think about it, I did not even register there was a ward placed out until I walked into it." Clearing his throat, "Pierre told me that she has been working with Cancer a lot lately ... a very powerful sorcerer! He taught her how to mask her energy from Hammel." I growled, "What does Hammel have to do with this?" Sadragon began to appear uneasy, "I told your father what Merna told Pierre ... It appears from reports from the magickal community that Hammel is collecting human borns illegally. Merna has documents to prove that human borns are going missing at an alarming rate. Ninety percent of them are related to the magickal realms." Sadragon turned his head toward the road, "we have company!" Both Sadragon and I watched as a male and female human born strolled towards the driveway. "Are you seeing what I am seeing?" I asked Sadragon. "I need to warn Pierre what is going on!" He proceeded to move towards his mate. "Nope just decided to decorate the place with random items!" I heard Merna tell the two impostures. Sadragon nodded his head, "then again I do not think we need to help them. It appears Merna has everything under control!" “Where has she been all my existence?” I glanced at Merna than Sadragon, trying not to laugh, "Where did she come from?" Shrugging his shoulders, "I have no clue!" The grin on his face grew! "Well ... we have a lot to do, you should be on your way!" Merna told the two imposters. "I am going to have to tell my father that Parppavar has sent two of her serfs into his territory!" "I am starting to think that what Merna had told Pierre is true ... I think they are collecting illegally! This will warrant the council's attention!" "Sadragon!" All humour was gone now, "Keep an eye on my ... Merna while I go and speak with my father." Sadragon nodded his head, “Not a problem!” His expression told me he knew more than what he was telling me.
