Revenge of the Rejected

Chapter 96

“This could have only been done by a hacker.” Vera suggested, looking like she was thinking critically on who could have done this. Then Charles’ phone beeped, and he brought it out to check who had sent him a text which read: “If you want your money back, then come over to this address.” “Oh, my goodness. The hacker involved in this, just sent a text of the address.” Charles informed Vera and James. “Holy shit! Should we involve the cops, secretly?” James asked, wondering if that was okay. “No. We have to be extremely careful with this. He might be a man of one chance. If we fuck it up, I might never be able to retrieve that money. And you know, we have less than 3 days to acquire that building.” Charles reminded. “Oh, yes. That’s true. I guess the hacker wants something else, then, and not your money.” James replied, and folded his arms. “It seems so. I’ll be on my way there, and I’ll go alone.” Charles said to them, and dashed out of James’ house, immediately. Charles drove off to the address sent to him, without his guards, and while that could be quite dangerous, he just needed to face it. And if the hacker could hack into his bank accounts, then he can do it to any other account he creates, after. Also, he was curious to know what the hacker wants, and why he did that to him. Soon, he got to the address. It was a deserted garage. Charles adjusted his wear, and then walked into the garage. It was a large garage with wrecked cars, and firewood, barrels, etc. As soon as he got in the middle of the garage, the garage closed down, and everywhere became dark. Charles looked left and right sharply, and then his back, and front. Doing a 360 to check if anyone was near him. Then he brought out his phone to put on the flashlight, but his phone notified a low battery. “Damn it!” He said sharply, under his breath, and slid his phone back into his pocket. Then he tried to find his way back to the garage exit, but while moving towards the exit which he wasn’t even sure if he was on the right path, he felt the hard hit of a plank on the back of his head, and a sharp gasp escaped his mouth. Slowly, Charles fell to his knees, and then became dizzy, which made him fall to the ground completely, and passed out.About an hour passed before Charles came back to consciousness, and opened his eyes slowly, trying to figure out where he was. There was a bulb with yellow light, but it still looked blurry to Charles because he was just gaining consciousness. This was definitely a new place. As Charles’ eyes opened widely, he figured out this was a basement. But what he couldn’t tell was if this was a basement under the garage, or they took him somewhere else. He was bound to a chair with tight ropes, and then he noticed a man who was sitting opposite him in a mask had been staring at him all along. “Who are you?” Charles managed to speak out, while struggling to free himself from the ropes. “Well, you don’t really need to know that, do you? The question should be what do I want, and how can you carry out that task? Also, you should stop trying to release yourself, or you’ll get hurt, the more.” Charles grunted, and then gave up on trying to free himself from the tight ropes, then he sighed deeply. “What do you want from me, and how the hell were you able to hack into my account?” Charles asked, feeling furious. “Oh, easy. One question at a time. The only thing is I will not be answering your second question. And as for your first question, I want you to do something very simple for me.” “And what’s that?” He asked, with a fiery gaze. “You should tone down on your gaze or you won’t be getting anywhere with me. I’m a busy man, and I have other things to do, so it’s best you use your time wisely.” The masked man said, and stood up. He walked up to Charles, and stared into his eyes. Charles was no longer used to be someone who was at the mercy of anyone, and this made him resolve in his heart that he was going to mess up this masked man if he gets out of this dilemma. “What do you want from me?” Charles questioned, calmly, although burning inside in anger. “You know the former Governor before you, right?” “George?” His name escaped out of Charles’ mouth instantly. “Yes. I want him.” On the other hand, Vera and James were somehow worried about what could be going on with Charles. His phone was switched off, and therefore could not be tracked if they wanted to go find him by themselves. “Or should we just involve the cops?” James asked, feeling really uncomfortable. “No, we can’t. Charles already told us not to. And you know that one wrong move from us can destroy any progress he might probably be making where he is.” Vera replied, and sighed deeply as she paced around. “Yeah, you’re right. But what do we do now? What if he also needs our help badly? Shouldn’t we just take a step, you know. We could think deeply on what to do, and we might find an incredibly smart solution to this.” James tendered his idea. Vera sat down, and exhaled sharply, then clicked her tongue. “An issue like this is meant to be settled meticulously with no mistakes, and that could take time before we find the perfect solution.” “Which is why we should just involve the cops, instead. What’s more important is Charles’ life. He could get the money back as time goes on.” Then both James and Vera’s phone vibrated, and they checked it out. It was a text from an unknown number. “You both shouldn’t try anything funny or you’ll regret it as the worst decision you ever made.”
