Revenge of the Rejected

Chapter 251

The next day, Charles woke up to James’ call. He rubbed his eyes, and then managed to sit up as he was feeling very tired. Although, he was meant to wake early today, especially because he had a flight to catch, but his bones were too tired to help him act as sharp as he ought to. As he answered his call, his eyes opened up immediately due to James’ overjoyed tone. “Boss! Boss! We did it! We finally did it!” James voiced out happily. Charles adjusted himself on the bed, and made his feet to touch the ground, wondering what news James had this time that made him to sound this way. “What’s going on?” Charles asked, with his curiosity taking the best of him. “Boss. Mr. Van actually did something great, last night. He told me this morning that he sent an email to Mr. Jayla about our need for vibranium, then he mentioned your name. About an hour after he talked to me about it, I received a response through the company’s email, from Mr. Jayla, expressing his joy that we had actually reached out to him and that he would do anything for you, boss.” James informed happily. Charles couldn’t believe his ears. Mr. Jayla, the man whom almost everyone knew of how adamant he could be, when it comes to giving out vibranium, had given him audience freely, and from the way he spoke, it seemed like Mr. Jayla could willingly give his all the vibranium he possesses, to him. “Wow! Are you certain of what you just said? He really said he could give me the vibranium I need?” Charles asked again for clarification. “Yes. He said he’s going to be coming here to meet you today, and then you both can discuss on the amount of vibranium you need. Oh, this is so going to top the news.” James voiced out in joy. “Yes!” Charles voiced out, in a victorious tone. “Alright, let’s get through with it, then.” He added, and when they were done with their conversation, he hung up, and got ready for the day. He didn’t need to go over to France to meet him anymore, neither did he need to be so worried about getting tasks which would earn him more points to get a persuasive skill. He hurried into his bathroom to prepare himself for the big day which was today as he was meant to meet with Mr. Jayla. As soon as he was done having his bath, and putting on the outfit for today, he stepped out of his room and headed towards his living room. “Good morning, sir. I wish you a safe journey.” Martha said, with a smile on her face.“Oh, about that, there’s no need for the business trip, anymore. So, I’ll be home.” Charles informed her, with a smile on his face and then walked out of the living room. As he got into his car, he got a call from James. “Hey, James.” “Mr. Jayla is here already.” “Really? Tell him I’ll be there, soon.” Charles had woken up later than usual, so it was understandable how Mr. Van got to his company before him. He stepped on the throttle, and zoomed off, ensuring he was also complying by traffic rules, while trying to be fast. He also had it in mind to reward Mr. Van for the work he did as if he had not done that, they wouldn’t know that Mr. Jayla was willing to give him anything he needed, especially vibranium which everyone had thought that he would never be willing to give to anyone. Soon, he got to the company, and headed to his office immediately. As he got to his office hallway, he met James and Mr. Van standing around the corner. They ran to him immediately they set their eyes on him. “Boss, he’s here.” James informed in a low tone. “Alright then.” Charles said, then turned to Mr. Van. “Thank you so much for this bold step you took.” Charles appreciated him from the bottom of his heart. Charles then walked into the office, and as Mr. Jayla set his eyes on Charles, he rose to his feet immediately, and then they both shook hands. “Finally. I get to meet you.” Mr. Jayla said, with a smile. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Jayla.” Charles uttered as he went to his seat. On the other hand, James and Mr. Van were happy as they felt things were going well in the office. For over two hours now, Charles and Mr. Jayla were still conversing in the office, and they could hear laughter at every point in time. “So, it was nice doing business with you.” Charles spoke as he shook Mr. Jayla’s hand one more time as they walked out of the office. “Same here.” Mr. Jayla was escorted to the company’s entrance and when Charles got back to his office with James and Mr. Van, they all rejoiced.Mr. Jayla had agreed to give him a good amount of vibranium, and Charles considered himself to be one of the biggest billionaires in the country. “I think we should throw a party because this needs to be celebrated. Not only this, but to celebrate for all the wins so far.” James suggested happily. “You’re right. Let’s throw a party tomorrow evening. There’ll be no work tomorrow, and we’ll be inviting all employees of this company to attend. Tomorrow’s night is going to be one of the best nights we’ve ever had.” Charles assured, feeling so happy. Then he turned to Mr. Van. “Send James your details, and he’ll credit you with your reward.” Charles said to Mr. Van, and Mr. Van felt so moved to tears. He had heard about Charles treating his employees right, and always appreciating them for every good deed. He couldn’t believe that he was going to experience that part of Charles so soon. He thanked Charles so much and assured him that he was going to continue to work hard. Throughout that day, Charles felt happy, and people around him could feel his joy as well. ~ The next day, Charles woke up feeling elated, and then he put a call through to an event center, to make enquiries on the amount they needed to acquire the event center. Through his influence, he was able to make enquiries faster, through his phone. He got out of bed, and walked to the living room to check out for Martha who could be in the kitchen. “Hey, Martha. I’ll need you to do a job for me. You’ll also be a part of the people who would be in charge of the food and drinks that would be served this evening for the celebration my company and I, are having tonight.” “Alright, boss. There’s no problem in that.” She assured him, showing her willingness to work and do anything for him. Then he sat on his sofa, and began to make some calls to people he needed to make his celebration big, and memorable. ~ It was evening already, and Charles had dressed up. He had sent his security guards to monitor the event as he didn’t want any mistake. The last touch he needed for the event was to make his presence known. He put a call through to Mr. Van first because he was the one who had gotten to the event center and had volunteered to make everything set.“So, is everything ready?” Charles asked. “Yes, boss. Everything is perfect, as well. Everyone is here, except you and Mr. James.” Mr. Van informed him over the phone. “Alright, I’ll put a call through to him immediately after this call.” After the call ended, he was about dialing James’ contact when his contact appeared, and his phone was ringing. “Hey, James.” “Hello, Charles.” A voice spoke. The voice was familiar to Charles, but he couldn’t make out who it was. “Who’s this?” “If you really want to know, you’ll have to meet me. And if you have no interest in meeting me, then your loyal employee will have to visit the grave, tonight. Whenever I’m ready, I’ll send you the details of what you’re meant to do. For now, bye.” The voice threatened Charles, and then hung up, leaving Charles with pain, restlessness and curiosity. “Shit!” He cursed out loud, and then made to leave his house, but as he got close to the door, he heard a loud, explosive sound, coming from the kitchen, his study room and some other places in the house. He tried to run towards the kitchen to understand what was going on, but another explosion came up, throwing him far away from the kitchen. His expensive possessions, including his antiques, all fell. “Shit!” he cursed, under his breath, and tried to stand, then ran out of his house, and dialed 911 “911. What’s your emergency?” A cop answered. “It’s Charles Lincoln. Please come over to my house immediately. Something wrong has happened.”
