Revenge of the Rejected
“If we are to stop this man from taking us any further to where he wants to take us to, we have to do it wisely.” James whispered to Charles, ensuring that Anthony does not hear what he had just said. “You’re right.” Charles responded, agreeing to tackle the situation wisely. He wasn’t scared of Anthony, but the fact that he was in control of the steering wheel, endangered their lives. If they tried to get it from him, he could decide to drive away from the streets, and over a cliff. Most people who were sent to carry out evil activities tended to be crazy and ready to end their life. Charles wasn’t ready to die, neither did he want to endanger someone else’s life as well. “Anthony, please make a stop right there. I need to ease my self out immediately.” James spoke out, acting like he was really pressed. Then Charles picked on and decided to act along. “I told you not to take too much water due to the nature of our journey. Now, this is going to take out of the time we need to get to our destination as soon as possible.” Charles pretended to scold James. “It’s fine. We can actually make a brief stop.” Anthony uttered, oblivious to what was going on. “Alright then. I think I should take a pee as well. I’m getting so excited to see Mr. Thompson.” Charles spoke and then followed after James. As soon as he got out of the car, he and James had eye contact and they both understood what they had to do. "Anthony, it almost skipped my mind. Do you know these Greek words?” Charles asked him, pretending to want to show him. Then James who had made sure that Anthony’s attention was off him, moved closer to Charles’ driver and gave him a sedative to use on Anthony as he was speaking to Charles. The driver who was baffled, had no choice than to do what he was asked to do as he believed that they must be in danger for this idea to have come up. He knew Charles was a good man, and so was James and Vera, so he didn’t need to think twice. Charles’ left eye caught his driver, about to inject Charles, and this made Anthony suspect something was about to go wrong. He turned back and his eyes widened in shock as he noticed that Charles and his crew had caught on, on what he had in mind to do.Fortunately for Charles and his men, Anthony was too slow to stop Charles’ driver from injecting the sedative into him, so in no time, he blanked out on the driver’s seat. “You deserve heavy compensation for that. Remind me when all things get sorted out.” Charles said to his driver happily. “Thank you, sir.” “Now, what do we do?” James asked as they had to get a place to interrogate Anthony by all means. “We have to drive back to Mr. Thompson’s house. That’s the only thing we can do.” “Goodness! But that’s a bit far, now. We’ll get there past midnight.” James uttered, looking weary. Charles sighed, and then placed both his hands on his waist as he had also weighed the situation at hand. Time was passing by quickly and there were many things left undone. “So, what do you think we’re to do? What other solution do we have to this?” “Boss, look over there! It looks like it’s deserted.” Charles’ driver called Charles attention to a particular house which was in the midst of a few bushes. “Alright, let’s check if it’s safe, first.” Charles said, then he and James both walked up to the house while the driver kept watch over Anthony. As Charles and James got close to the house, with caution, they opened the door, and found out it was empty. “They seem to have this trend of empty houses around here.” James uttered, covering his nose with his arm, from dust. “Yeah, I guess. But this one is to our advantage. We have a place to keep and interrogate our hostage.” Charles said as he looked around the house, with a look that showed he wasn’t totally comfortable with it. ~ After dragging Anthony into the house, they decided to wait a while for him to wake and find out where he is. “I think we’ve got to get a few things to make him scared. If he is convinced deep within him that we are good guys and would not hurt him, then he won’t speak.” James suggested. Charles reasoned with him, but there was no way they could get weapons. His guards didn’t come with him, so there were no guns they could make use of, to threaten Anthony. “Well, seeing as we have no weapon, I guess we could still threaten him with some hostility.” Charles assured, patting James on the shoulder. James had been a good help to him and he was so glad that he had actually called him to tag along. “By the way, how come you’re with a sedative?” Charles questioned, out of curiosity. “Well, I know that the journey we are going on could attract a few predators or we could even be speaking with our enemies, so I brought sedatives, and… oh, my goodness! I actually brought tasers along with me. We could use that to threaten him as well.” “Whoa!” Charles chuckled, amazed at James’ wit. “You really came prepared.” Charles voiced out, feeling glad that things were looking positive. Then they were interrupted by the heavy breaths which the driver made. As they looked towards his direction, they noticed that the driver had gone to fetch two buckets of water. “What’s that for?” Charles questioned, inquisitively. “I felt you might need to wake up as he could sleep for hours.” The driver replied. Charles felt blessed by the witty people he had brought along, and thanked both James and the driver. “It feels so much like the heavens are completely on our side.” James chuckled as he carried a bucket of water. “Oh, my. It’s cold, too. Perfect!” He chuckled again, but this time, mischievously as he couldn’t wait to interrogate Anthony and make him regret his decision for trying to abduct three grown men.
