Revenge of the Rejected
“Let go of me! Let go of me! I’m innocent, regardless of whatever!” Mark raised his voice as he struggled with the officers. “Anything you say now, will be used against you in court.” One of the cops informed him, but Mark kept struggling to set him free. “Mark Adam, do not force me to shoot you in the leg for obstruction of justice.” Another cop threatened. Mark gradually stopped because he knew he would need his legs if ever he was able to escape the cops. Mr. Adam was cooperative because there was no way he could run faster than the cops, but he felt doomed. When they arrived at the station, they were put in different investigation room. As Officer Walton walked into the investigation room where Mark was, he brought out his phone, then put a call through to Charles. “Finally, we’ve caught Mark Adam.” He informed, while staring right into Mark’s glaring eyes. “We’ll suck out every information we need, so we’ll contact you when all that is over.” Officer Walton said to Charles. “Alright then.” Charles responded calmly, over the phone. Then Officer Walton pulled a chair out, and sat on it while he brought out his note which he wanted to jot whatever he gets from Mark. “I have nothing to say in case you want to begin your useless questioning. The person which you ought to question is Charles and not me.” Mark said, looking adamant. “And why do you think so?” “Because he is the bastard!” Mark yelled out. “You really do know you’re in our custody, right? And your punishment can heighten due to defamation of name, right?” “And why was I brought here? I’m innocent to my understanding.” Officer Walton chuckled, then rose to his feet. “If you felt you’re innocent, you won’t have attempted to run. Mark Adam, you tried to kill Charles several times, and got away with it. And then while hiding, you went under a disguise, and fooled one of Charles’ workers to get his bank details. You stole from Charles Lincoln, in a nutshell, and you know how much of an offense is stealing.”“I know nothing about all you’ve said.” Mark responded, folding his arms and looking away. Officer Walton slammed his fist on the table, feeling pushed to his limits. Mark wasn’t cooperating at all, and that wasn’t making a smooth job for Officer Walton. “Well, there are other ways to make you talk. Think deeply about how you’ll react to me the next time I come here, because any wrong move or speech from you will result into something you won’t like.” Officer Walton left the investigation room, feeling really annoyed until he got to Mr. Adam investigation room. As he walked into the investigation room which Mr. Adam was in, he sensed Mr. Adam’s fear. He had requested to be the one investigating both father and son as he didn’t want any mix up, so he was permitted to. “Good day, Mr. Adam.” “Officer please… I’m not really involved in all these. Please let me go.” Mr. Adam pleaded earnestly. Officer Walton was quite pleased with this, because he knew there was a high chance of getting him to talk. “You just have to tell us what we need to know.” “Look. To show that I wasn’t in support of this. This wasn’t my idea. I’m…I’m going to tell you what happened.” “Alright, spill it, Mr. Adam.” Officer Walton urged him as he now paid more attention to him. “It’s Penny. She and Mark forced me into this.” “Hold on. You mean Mrs. Penny Adam? Your wife?” “Yes, officer. Before she was caught, she had ensured that even if she isn’t here, we must carry on the plan. We must ensure that Charles is put down. From the beginning, it has been their idea; forcing me into crimes, and the last, stealing from Charles.” Mr. Adam revealed, with a trembling lower lip. “And how do we believe what you’re saying? You know, we’re going to need some evidence, to be certain that we aren’t acting on just anything.” Officer Walton, said, squinting his eyes, and hoping that he had a proof for this. “Well, if you could get me my phone, I’ll be able to prove it to you.” Mr. Adam replied, giving Officer Walton an assuring look. Officer Walton then ordered for Mr. Adam’s phone, and when the phone was brought in, he handed it over to Mr. Adam, but watched him from behind to see what he was doing on his phone. Fortunately, Mr. Adam was able to show him proof of his conversations between he, his wife, and his son, concerning plans to take down Charles, and where the money was moved. Officer Walton’s mouth dropped open and then he collected the phone from Mr. Adam. “Wow. You’re one intelligent family. So brainy.” Officer Walton uttered as he walked back to where he stood, while questioning him, earlier. “B…but as you noticed, I wasn’t really in support of it. I just didn’t have a way to back out.” Mr. Adam said, looking really innocent. “Yes, I can see it. But you could have done the right thing by then, by reporting to a cop. You could have done it on a low key, to ensure that you aren’t tracked.” Officer Walton said as he placed the phone in a small basket. “But you know what? Confessing the truth helped you; and I assure you that your jail term would definitely be reduced, for making things easier for us.” Officer Walton said, and walked out of the investigation room.\ They were done investigating, so they imprisoned them, waiting for the court day. Officer Walton had explained everything to Charles, so he got Vera released. “So, the court meeting is in three days. That’s when their jail term would be decided upon. We have evidences, so I’m sure they aren’t escaping this one.” Officer Walton assured. “Thank you, Officer.” Charles appreciated him.
