Revenge of the Rejected
Immediately, I looked for a place to hide as I knew very well that if they caught me, and decided to hit me alongside others, there was a high chance that my disguise would be removed and that would mean the end of my game. Even while trying to hide, I hoped that Sandra was okay. Not like I cared though, but she was the key to me getting what I want right now. If she dies, my father could fire me as he wasn't the one who brought me in as he probably felt there was no need for a lawn man. I heard groans and the sounds of an intense fight, and after what seemed like ten minutes, I heard my fake name. “Andrews!” Sandra shrieked. I popped out my head from where I was hiding, and then noticed that Sandra's gang had beaten up the enemy gang. Relief washed through me and I stood up, dusting my clothes. “I'm here, ma'am.” I raised my voice as I walked up to her. Then she shook her head. “So, this is all you can do? Hide? Did you even bother to find out if I'm safe?” She yelled at the top of her voice and I just stood there, wordless. She was truly spiteful and not someone a good person should mingle with. Whoever was fine with her attitude was just the same as her. But then, I had to apologize and act like I did wrong because I still needed to keep my job. “I apologize, ma'am. I was so terrified, but I also discovered you were safe that's why I stuck to where I hid.” I lied to her, and she rollled her eyes and shook her head in disdain. “You are really something else. If not that I like the way you ensure the garden is nice, I would have thrown you out this instant.” “I apologize, ma'am.” Then she began to head out and I followed after immediately I spotted George, staring at me like he was trying to figure something out. He better leave this city before I'm done with my disguise or else, I would have to use him for what pleases me as he deserves every Ill treatment I give him. When we got back to my father's home, Tyson, Carlos and my father were already in the living room. I gulped down my saliva nervously because I was hoping that they wouldn't find out anything about me so soon. So, I ensured that my voice was in check, making it deeper so it wouldn't sound anything like my real voice. “This is the new gardener, sweetheart.” She informed my father as she sat beside him and gave him a kiss on his cheek. Tyson glanced at me, and stared at me from head to toe with a sneering look. “I don't care if he's a gardener or not, I'll use him for anything I need him to do.” He said as he poured the last drop of wine in the wine bottle, into the wine glass. And then he turned to me again. “As you can see, that drop of wine can't do anything for me, so get me another wine bottle. You can check the corner by the right, and you'll see a room. That's the wine cellar.” He directed me. Even as annoying as it was, I had to do what he asked me to do. After all, all these would get me closer to what I came here for. I endured all they pushed me to do and didn't even get to take a look at the garden itself. They had a maid who could help them do those things, but they had also occupied her with a lot of work. I wonder how much they pay her. “I'm done with all you have asked me to do, ma'am. I'll take my leave now.” I notified Sandra while she watched TV alone. “Alright, you can leave. Ensure you do better tomorrow.” She said, without looking at me, and I responded politely. “Yes, ma'am.” I walked out of the house, and met with my driver who was waiting at the next street. I was annoyed as they had used me for all their dirty works too much today. It could be because I have once been treated this way before I hit the jackpot, that's why I could still endure it. But regardless, it was still difficult and very tempting enough for me to want to lash out on them. I know if I revealed my true self, they would back off and dare not order me around, but this wasn't the right time.Right now, what was on my mind was to get to James and find out why he had taken his hands off what he was meant to do while I was at the garage with Sandra and George. “Drive me off to James’ house.” I instructed my driver as I pulled off.my disguise. “Noted, sir.” I sighed deeply and calmed myself down as I didn't want to be too annoyed without hearing from James. But there was nothing coming to mind on what could have made James to get off in the middle of something. It couldn't possibly be someone abducted him. As I thought about that, my heart raced and I feared that that could be what happened. Immediately, I turned on the system with my mind as it had not been in use for a while so it was probably on sleep mode. “Track James.” I instructed it, and a screen displayed before me. I discovered James was still in his house and that was quite baffling, but a surge of anger rose in me. “Driver, please step on it.” I said to him as politely as I could as I didn't want to transfer aggression on him. “Alright, sir.” Even as I tried to calm down, the anger kept doubling up in me, and I was afraid I would say the worst things to James if I sighted him. As soon as we got to his house, I noticed the door wasn't locked, so I barged in and then met him drinking to stupor.
