Revenge of the Rejected
Amelia stood up abruptly and walked outside, then James followed her to know what happened, and why her expression suddenly changed. “What’s going on, Amelia?” He asked, out of concern. “I… I need to get back to my hometown to settle something.” “What's that? Did something bad happen?” James asked, worried about Amelia. “You don't have to worry about it. I have to go now.” Amelia said as she turned, about to leave as fast as she could, but James held her back. “You have to speak to me. If it's that urgent, tell me when you're going to come back.” James said as he held her hand. Then Amelia calmed down, and looked into James’ eyes apologetically. “I don't know when I'll be back, James. I just don't know, but I'll definitely be back. Just let me go, right now.” Amelia said, staring into his eyes with affection. She didn't want to leave, but she had to, and she also had no intention to tell James what exactly was going on, as she planned to end the issue once and for all in her hometown. James hugged her tight, not willing to let her go, but she somehow slipped away from him, and hailed down a cab as one appeared to be passing by. James was heartbroken because to him, this felt like a break up, but he decided to stay calm and wait for her until she came back from her hometown. He got into his car, and drove home to rest ahead of the shareholders meeting he was going to attend with Charles at the Golden Hotels tomorrow. Charles on the other hand had recuperated enough for him to be fully ready to give all his energy to ensure that he gets what he sets his heart to do. He leaned on the rails at his balcony, and stared at the night sky. “Mother, it's time to create that moment when you'll be so happy and proud of me. I'm going to ensure that all those who treated you wrong, will wish they never did.” Charles spoke out, feeling a rush of determination and zeal in him. The next day, he got ready for his meeting, and James was already at his living room, waiting for him. “Good morning, boss.” James greeted, with a smile.“Good morning, James.” Charles smiled back. They both knew that this day was the start to getting things done against Mr. Lincoln and his children. They got into the car, and the driver drove off to Golden Hotels. At Golden Hotels, Mr. Lincoln and his children were present at the meeting which Charles wasn't aware of. Some employees of higher status than the others were also present as well. They were currently having a meeting as the meeting had kicked off already. “Now, I think we have addressed a few things here. Is there anyone who would like to speak as well?” One of the shareholders questioned as he started at everyone. No one had anything to say, but Tyson cleared his throat to attract attention. “I have something very disturbing to say. I think some of the employees here have to be cleared out. How can this tell it to my face that my family can't enjoy this hotel as much as we want to!” Tyson raised his voice, giving threatening glares at the employee. Then the employee whose name is Darwin, stood up. “I didn't say you can't. You can only enjoy the exclusiveness of this hotel, and even attend the meeting when you pay for the premium card. Right now, you're not supposed to be here at the meeting.” Darwin pointed out, with confidence. “You've got guts, and that could get you into trouble. Do you know who you're speaking with?” Tyson barked at him, feeling angry. “I know who I'm speaking with, but the rules of the company are the rules, and we shouldn't go against the rule.” Darwin retorted, feeling no fear. They had not gotten to the main conversations they ought to have in the meeting and that was the reason Mr. Lincoln and his children had not left. Usually, they do stall the meeting with other conversations they could touch while waiting for a member. And Charles wasn't just a mere member, he was among the wealthiest shareholders. Even Mr. Lincoln had no idea that he was coming. Mr. Lincoln didn't bother to interrupt in the words spar which his son, Tyson and Mr. Darwin, were having. He knew Tyson could handle the situation, and it wasn't situations like this he felt he ought to jump into. “A premium ticket isn't a must for my family and I to pay. We are obviously influential and we do make waves in the business world. Do we need a premium ticket to be recognized?”“Because we have to obey the rules, you need a premium card.” Before the argument got hotter, Charles walked in, and although, he looked surprised to see that it was Tyson involving himself in an argument with his employee. He was also surprised that his father and sons, were present at the meeting, but he decided to handle whatever was the matter. As Mr. Lincoln set eyes on him, he shot up from his chair, and squeezed his face at Charles in anger. “I know you have a hand in this! Wherever you are, you always try to make things difficult for us! Why are you being this evil!” Mr. Lincoln raised his voice, irritated at the presence of Charles. Charles smirked, and sighed. He shook his head, and took his place in the shareholders’ meeting. “Mr. Lincoln, you are clearly embarrassing yourself here. You know very well that once rules are set, you must abide by them.” Mr. Lincoln scoffed, and sneered at Charles in spite. He wished he could just order him out and embarass him instead, but as he couldn't do that, he had to ensure not to act irrationally. “You have to pay for the premium card or you'll be walked out of this meeting room.” Charles said, already signifying to James to be ready to do the needful.
