Revenge of the Rejected
Julia showed Charles all the houses up for sale including the most expensive house. Immediately Charles saw the house, he loved it. It was a very magnificent Condo and it had a spectacular view of the city’s river. After an hour of checking out the houses and learning about their prices from Julia, they returned to the lobby for discussion. Julia brought Charles a chair to sit on while she waited for his decision. “Mr. Charles, are you impressed with the houses? Is there anyone you would like to purchase?” “Yes,” Charles answered. “I'd like to buy the Condo.” “Do you mean a unit in the condo?” Julia asked, in shock. “No, I mean the entire Condo. Isn’t it up for sale anymore?” Of course, Julia knew the Condo was still up for sale. But no one had ever tried to purchase it because of the price. “Sir, the Condo is definitely up for sale. But like I said, it cost 10 million dollars. A single unit in the condo is up for 500 hundred thousand dollars, don’t you think you should consider that instead?” “No, I'd like to purchase the Condo and not a unit.” Charles replied firmly. “And I'd like to pay today.” Julia shook her head in disbelief. She had hoped that he could afford one of the cheapest houses but never in her dreams did she think he would want to buy the Condo. If he buys the Condo, she would receive a 1% commission rate and her rank amongst other agents will rise drastically. But still, she didn’t believe that Charles could afford it. However, she didn’t want to be disrespectful and miss her chance to earn the hundred thousand dollar’s commission. “Sir, are you sure you want to buy the Condo?” She asked again. “I want to call the manager to confirm your request.” “Yes,” Charles answered. “Give me a minute,” she said, then left to call the manager. Soon, she returned with the manager who looked quite shocked to see that Charles was the one who wanted to buy the most expensive house in the residential area. “Mr. Charles, I’m Anthony, the manager of Diamond’s Home main residential area. I was informed you’re here to buy our most expensive house: the Condo on Block 2.” “Yes, I'd like to pay for it today.” Charles responded. The manager looked at Julia who stared back at him in shock. At that moment, everyone in the lobby was now paying close attention to what was happening. “How would you like to pay, Sir?” The manager asked, still doubting Charles. “With my card.” “Okay,” he turned to Julia. “Call the finance manager. He will be the one to confirm the payment if he is able to pay.” The finance manager arrived and she was also skeptical about Charles. Everyone was holding their breath as Charles handed her his card. She swiped the card in the machine and it was accepted immediately. The machine beeped. Payment successful. The finance manager gasped and everyone else in the lobby exclaimed when the payment was confirmed. Nobody could believe that Charles paid for the most expensive house on sale. Not even the manager. “I can’t believe it. Congratulations, Mr. Charles.” The finance manager said, handing him back his card. Julia couldn’t believe her eyes as well. After several months of being mocked by other agents, her buyer bought the most expensive house. She would earn the highest commission ever. The agents that disrespected Charles wanted to slap themselves as they watched. They regretted everything and not attending to him like Julia did. Who knew that a man in cheap clothes could be secretly wealthy? They wished they had even talked to him before judging him. Now, Julia would enjoy a hundred thousand dollars because of their mistake. “Mr. Charles, please come with me while we prepare the necessary documents and contracts.” The manager said. “Julia, come with us as well. You’ll be recognized as his agent so you can receive your commission.” They left the lobby and followed the manager to his office where he would draft the contract. The other agents watched with Jealousy as Julia followed her buyer. “I’m happy Julia convinced you to buy the Condo. It’s our most beautiful house yet.” The manager said, after Charles signed the contract. He was so happy that the house was finally sold to someone. “She didn’t actually need to do much. I fell in love with the interior design and everything about the house. However, I’ll thank her because others ignored and disrespected me when I arrived.” Charles said, flashing a smile at Julia.“What?” The manager expressed her shock. “Please who are the agents that disrespected you, Sir? I'd like to get rid of them immediately. Please show them to me.” The manager stormed out of his office with Charles and Julia. He was so angry that some of the agents disrespected Charles. “Please, show them to me.” He said when they got to the lobby. Charles carefully identified the agents and salesmen that disrespected him. They were shivering with fright as he pointed them out one by one. “Wow, I can’t believe all of you would be so unprofessional and disrespectful.” The manager said. “Did you think you would get away with your terrible attitude toward buyers? How could you disrespect the man who bought the most expensive house in this residential area?” The agent and salesmen fell to their knees, begging and crying. “Please forgive us,” the agent begged. “It was never our intention to disrespect him. We didn’t know he could afford any of the houses on sale.” The manager shook his head. “So, you judge people based on their appearance? Do you think every wealthy man in this city loves to show off?” “We are deeply sorry, please forgive us.” “Unfortunately, I cannot retain staff like you in this organization. Three of you are fired and I want you to leave this area immediately. If you hesitate, I’ll call the police to arrest you all.” The manager fired them without contemplating serving as a lesson to others. The agent and salesmen were rolling on the ground and begging the manager but his mind was made up. Right before Charles, some security guards came to escort them out of the building. He was satisfied with the manager's swift response to his complaints. “Mr. Charles, I am deeply sorry for their actions and I hope that you’re no longer dissatisfied with Diamond Homes. Your keys and necessary documents will be given to you shortly. Your agent will also keep in touch with you.” The manager told him after everything was settled. “Thank you very much. I’m satisfied with your services so far.” Charles responded. Just then, a screen popped up before him. [Mission completed. You have received 2 black card points.]
