Alpha Nicholas’s Forbidden Little Mate
Bonnie Ten minutes later I arrive at his office and knock on the door but there's no answer. I lock into my senses but I'm not picking up his scent so I decide to link him but he's blocked his link and I'll be honest I'm starting to get a little worried. "Are you ok, Bon?" I jump at the sound of Shane's voice as he appears from behind me. "Shit, sorry I didn't mean to scare you." He gently rubs my shoulder as a small laugh escapes me at how silly I must have just looked. "I'm good. I was looking for Nick but can't find him and his link is blocked." Shane unlocks the door to Nick's office before turning back to face me. "He is over at the gym. He's ok. He just needed a minute. He asked me to come and deal with some paperwork that needs doing by the morning." I can see the concern in Shane's eyes and it makes my nerves spike. "Oh, ok. Maybe I should leave him alone for a little while then." He shakes his head as he puts his hand back on my shoulder. "No, Bonnie. You should go to him. It may appear like he is hiding out and granted in some ways he is but trust me when I say that he needs you. He always needs you, but right now, he needs you more than anything." I give him a nod and smile and turn to walk away before quickly glancing back at Shane. "Thank you for telling me, Shane." He nods while giving me a small smile. "Oh, and Bonnie. I'd appreciate it if you would keep this conversation to yourself. Tell him I told you where he is but if you could keep the rest to yourself I would appreciate it. We both know how he is and I don't want to have my ass kicked tonight." His smile makes me laugh but of course, I agree. "You have my word." It only takes a few minutes of walking before the gym comes into view. It is dark outside now, but there are lights all over the pack grounds, including several that cover the training and gym area, making my pathway clear. As I get closer, I notice someone standing outside the door. As I get closer, I realise that it's Robbie. What's he doing out here? Before I can call him, he turns and sees me and then heads my way. "Well, hello there my Luna." He bows his head making me laugh before looking back up at me and smiling. He knows I'd prefer for him to call me Bonnie but he likes to call me Luna just because he can. "I'm going to kick you if you call me that again." He gasps and covers his face in a look of horror. "How could you threaten your favourite brother that way?" I love this side of Robbie, this playful, funny, carefree side. He's going through his own version of hell right now but still, here he is making me laugh even when I imagine it is properly the last thing that he feels like doing. "My favourite brother?" I keep my face void of emotion enjoying these few minutes of fun. "Oh Luna, you're breaking my heart here." He grips his shirt over his heart and winces like I've just poked him with something sharp. "Oh behave. Anyone would swear that I had just kicked your puppy or something." "My puppy... ew no don't own no puppy!" He scrunches up his face and it takes all I have to hold back my laughter. "What's wrong with puppies?" He shakes his head as he gives me a disbelieving look. "They are covered in fur and get it everywhere. They drool and need to go for walks and run around and... no... just no!" I can't hold back my laughter anymore. It comes out so fast and hard that it has me bending over at the waist and taking my breath away. "What's so funny?" I look up to see Robbie looking confused and that only makes me laugh even harder. "Seriously, I don't get it?" "Oh, Robbie. You're too funny!" I try to calm my laughing so that I can explain it to him but the look of confusion on his face keeps sending me into laughing fits. After a few minutes, I work to rein in my outburst and look up at Robbie as I stand up to find him standing there with a smirk on his face. "I still don't get it." Oh, fuck my life. "You just said that a puppy is eww because it is covered in fur, drools and needs to go for walks and runs." "Yes, and your point would be what my Luna?" I love this guy! "Robbie, you are a wolf. You are literally a giant ass version of a puppy." The moment he realizes that what I am saying is true is golden as his eyes widen so much I'm ready for them to pop out of their sockets any moment. "How rude! My wolf doesn't drool thank you very much!" His words have both of us laughing so hard that for a moment I forget everything that is going on around us and it feels so good, so needed."Warrior Robbie. How can I help you?" A strange voice brings my laughter to an immediate stop as a guy comes to stand in front of us. He's incredibly tall and muscular and looks like he could scare even the meanest of wolves. "Yes, Johnathan. Alpha Nicholas is in the gym. He has asked for some privacy but I would like you to guard the door while he's in there. There's too much shit going on right now for him to be left unguarded." "Of course, Robbie. I will stand guard until he is ready to leave and make sure he arrives back at the pack house before I take my leave. Warrior Delcan is also on his way." "Thank you, Johnathan. Also Luna, Bonnie will be joining the Alpha so please lock the door once she has stepped inside." The Warrior... Johnathan turns his attention to me seeming surprised that I am here. "Please excuse my rudeness, Luna Bonnie. I don't believe we have had the pleasure of personally meeting yet but I'm warrior Johnathan." He gives me a respectful nod of his head after he finishes talking making me smile. He may look ready to tear someone's head off at a moment's notice but he appears to be very friendly and respectful and I get a good feeling about him.We talk for a few minutes until Warrior Declan arrives and Robbie says his goodbyes before heading for the tree line and the Warriors walk me to the door of the gym. I have met Declan several times and he seems like a good guy so it's quite reassuring having someone guarding us who I feel somewhat safe with. Nick isn't fully himself at the moment and with the amount of people that are backstapping him right now she needs all the loyalty he can get and that includes warriors who will protect him when he's not fully himself. As I enter the gym I feel a wave of guilt for not getting here sooner and instead standing outside and joking around with Robbie but then I think of what Nick would say and I know that he would want me to have that moment with Robbie for more than one reason. I've only been inside this part of the gym a handful of times and never at night when it's so quiet. The place is a lot larger than I thought and quite creepy when it's so empty but I keep walking the long corridor and head for the doors that I know to lead to the main training area in the hopes of finding my mate. As I step through the door I'm hit by my mate's scent, it's calming and soothing and always makes me want to crawl into his lap and stay there forever. When I think back to the time when I was ok with never having my mate it makes me sad. Imagining a life without my mate or the feelings that come from the mate bond makes me want to cry. In such a short space of time, I've gone from not wanting my mate to never being able to imagine a life without him. "Hey, sweetheart." I jump at the sound of his voice and then laugh at my reaction. I look up at catch sight of him sitting on a beach against the wall looking lost and well... just unlike Nick. I pick up my speed and reach him within seconds only as I go to sit down next to him he grabs hold of my hand and gently pulls me onto his lap until I am straddling him and we are face to face. He doesn't say anything to me but just stares into my eyes and it's easy to see that there's a lot of pain there, a lot of hurt. There's so much I want to say right now, so much I want to ask him but I remain quiet and wait for him to talk, this is his moment, not mine. "Bon, I've got something to tell you... There's something you need to know…
