RICH’S POV It was in extreme delight that I watch from my post as the queen forgives alpha Jake and alpha Ray. They have greatly wronged her, but then forgiveness is divine. “We herein this day pledge my unreserved and undisputed loyalty to you. You are our true queen and leader” alpha Jake and alpha Ray proclaimed. After they were done, the queen went on. “For recognizing me as your one true queen... and leader, I hereby this day make you alphas of your Packs, and also to secure your unreserved loyalty, I make you both my husbands this day, before all present. You are only to be answerable to me and to the throne of Pixolands” As she spoke, I could feel something odd about her. It was obvious that she was in some sort of pain. She was stopping at intervals to take a quick breath. I kept my gaze on her. Should anything go wrong, then I must be by her side the next second. She stopped and breathed in relief and then moved her hands to her waist. I could see that she was stopping herself from screaming with the way she clenched her lips together. “Long live the great Chamlar” everyone hailed while I murmured together with them. This isn’t getting any good. It was already time for her to speak but instead, she remained quiet with her lips still glued together. What is wrong with my queen? I asked myself. I was still trying to figure out the answer to my question when a loud scream escaped from her. “Arghhh...” There were a thousand and one pains emanating from her. She held on to her waist and her eyes shone wide in terror. She stopped and tried to smile at us. But in the next second, she handed over her golden staff to Lara and before we knew it, she lets out a scream that got to the very foundation of the building. “Arghhhh...” By now, the pains were very visible in her eyes and she was already breathing through her widely opened mouth. Again she tried to act cool and maintain her composure but I was already having none of it. “My queen, my queen, what is wrong with you?” I asked in a panic. I have never seen her this helpless before except on that day she had fought with Violet. I rushed over to her and wanted to lift her up but the Chamlee was already beside me. He grabbed onto her and made her lean on his shoulder.“My lady... what is happening to you? Where is the pain coming from?” the Chamlee asked. This was getting terrifying as she was not saying a word but was only focused on steadying her breathing. I was helpless and clueless. How do I help the queen out of this state, or has she been poisoned again? This time, who could be responsible for such? I swear that I must get to the end of the earth to find such a person and when I do, I will skin him alive with my bare hands. CHAMLEE’S POV “My queen, my queen, what is wrong with you?” Rich asked. I was still trying to analyze the situation of things when Rich rushed over to her. I thought maybe she was feeling a little fatigue as a result of the stress associated with the preparations for today. In truth, I was not thinking right, and it was as if her screaming had rendered me useless and incapacitated. It was not until I saw Rich take action that I had an idea of what was expected of me and so I rushed off to her and held her. “My lady... what is happening to you? Where is the pain coming from?” I asked. I was in a state of deep panic, seeing my strong queen become helpless all of a sudden was something unimaginable and it reminds me of camp. That was the only time that I have ever seen her this helpless. “My queen, hold on my queen,” Lara said and started to fan her with a handkerchief. “What is happening to her, is she still breathing?” I heard lord Nathan ask but I was too confused to even begin to answer anyone. The whole place was almost in chaos, with everyone trying to find a solution for the queen with none knowing exactly what to do. The queen continued to whimper and gasp for air on my shoulder. I tried to sort her and make her calm her nerves with some kind words that I could come up with. Words like, “It is okay, dear, you will be fine” “Don’t worry, I am here with you...” and so on. “Feel her temperature, how is it. Say something my queen” alpha Fred said. “Arghh... ouhhh...” as if in response to alpha Fred, the queen screamed again and dragged my hands to her waist. Seeing the gesture, I had to start rubbing her by the waist in fear. Soon, Lalic’s voice echoed. “Take her away, mother is going to have her baby” “Arghhh...” my queen screamed again.“Yes, she is in labour. Get her out of here immediately. See, come with me” mama Ruth ordered. She is in labour, is this what being in labour looks like? Then why did it take Lalic to point it out for us to know what was happening to her? We were so panicked that none would have suspected that she was in labour. “Let me help you with her, my Chamlee” Rich offered. “I have got this, Rich, just clear the road for me, get everyone out of my way,” I said and lifted the queen into my arms. She would not stop screaming and scratching my back at the same time. “The baby...” she finally revealed the problem to us, but right now, it was already too late for her as we have already figured that out ourselves. “Be calm, you will soon be delivered of the baby” I encouraged. “Just go faster, take me away from here” she screamed and dragged my hair. It was a miracle that they did not pull off with her hand. “Keep breathing in and out, my queen, try to get your breathing stabilized” Kendra encouraged as she ran along with me. “Don’t move too fast okay. Be careful with the way you carry her” alpha Jake advised. “I will” I replied under my breath. I was in a lot of tension, and I hope that this turns out right.
