SCARLET’S POV At that moment when I saw that the lady that had been meaning to see me all along was Gina, I felt repulsive. I could not bring myself to look at her or even listen to what she was about to say. If I had known that she was the one, then I wouldn’t have granted her audience. Her presence stirred up a lot of unpleasant memories, terrible ones that all these years I had fought hard to wish away and pretend never happened. But there she was before me and there was no denying that such appalling things truly did happen to me. It hurts more to think that the key player was standing right in front of me, and I was constrained from unleashing my anger on her. I wanted to vent it all to my heart's satisfaction but how could I comfortably do that without the risk of revealing my true self to her. Standing before me was one person that I never believed that I would be able to set my eyes on without asking for her death the next minute. I am a queen now, and not just any queen but her queen and it behooves upon me to live by example. I should not rule by emotions if I desire to be a great leader. She is here not as the Gina from years ago, but as a subject seeking my audience. Yes, she is my subject, but that does not signify that I must hear her out. And even though she looked very different from her old self with an exhibition of some level of humility and selflessness, I still do not want to connect with this new her. For me, she will always be that old, disgusting and terrible Gina. She stood there staring at me, waiting for the moment when I would ask her to speak. But for me, she could as well wait forever. Nothing good comes from Gina, and even this piece of news would be no different, that I am very sure of. Kendra noticed my discomfort around Gina, and so she said to her. “Do leave now, miss.
