Caught Between Two Alphas

Chapter 223 An Insight Into The Three Brother Packs

GINA’S POV I remained hidden inside the woods waiting to see how things turn out. Even though I was almost hiding inside a pit I was in great fear. What am I going to do if I am caught which was most probable since I have blood and they can smell it even from afar? The only language that they understand is blood and I do not need anyone to tell me this. To further conceal my presence and prevent myself from being easily detected I squeezed out water from the wildflowers around and sprinkled enough on myself. I also covered myself with fresh leaves, leaving just a little hole for me to see through. I was there through it all, I watched everything play out in my presence but I could do nothing to stop it. If it were to be some other person I might be convinced. I may have had to believe that justice would be allowed to take its cause. But not beta Tim. I practically lived in his house when I was with Sam. I saw how he had maltreated Scarlet just to protect his ego. I know that he might as well do the same to Dawn if the circumstance calls for it. I know that to exalt himself, he will not care if he was unfair to his own daughter. Since I am not friends with Dawn anymore I would have continued on my way and allowed things to take their natural cause if I had not seen them drag her and lead her away to a path that does not lead to the Packhouse. Seeing her been led in the wrong direction I became suspicious of the real motive of beta Tim. Wasn’t she accused of treason, then why isn’t she led to the packhouse for the alpha to pronounce her offense, and why is beta Tim or ma Patricia not with the men that led her away? These questions and many more fueled the conviction in me. I knew at that point that something was not right. There have been rumours that beta Tim and the witch are breeding zombies and no one has been able to openly speak up for fear of not having any proof But knowing who beta Tim is more than every other person I knew that such rumour must be true. So not wanting to be a victim of beta Tim, I have researched zombies and how to protect oneself against them and it has been ongoing ever since. I knew I will not be able to stand against beta Tim but I would rather die than be made one of his zombies or get killed by them.In my conviction, I followed discreetly behind the men that had dragged Dawn away. I knew it was a huge risk to take but I wanted to see where they were taking her to. I don’t want anything bad to happen to Dawn. At a point, she was more like a sister to me, and she never for once treated me badly so now that I think she needs me, I have to be there for her. I am not disputing the accusation against her but I want things to be done properly. Yes, she might be a traitor at the moment but knowing who Dawn is I can beat my chest and say firmly that she must have done that for a good reason too. I don’t care to know the reason for her action, I am already in support of her so actions. When I saw that they were bringing her to the old slave house at the outskirt of the Pack, I was stunned. It has been ages since this place was used, long before I was conceived. The old castle is said to hold sad memories of when the werewolves were in the captivity of the vampires. This was centuries ago. In those years, we were treated as slaves and sold to faraway lands. Siblings were separated from each other and sold off. Parents were taken away from their children, and spouses were forced to leave each other. This continued until three brothers came together and decided to face the ruthless vampires through the help of the moon goddess who was said to be on a visit to earth at the time. The vampires were defeated and the three brother Packs were formed. Since then slavery was aborted and the penalty for such was the banishment of not only the perpetrator but anyone in a coalition with him. It even extends to close family members depending on the facts of the case. This is the long-forgotten tale of this castle and the history of the three brother Packs. I guess if alpha Fred knew a little about this story, he would never have welcomed the witch, Mildrid to the Pack or allowed his beta to have a dealing with her even if it is to win a war. Why would beta Tim decide to bring his daughter to such a place, what is the significance of this? I know that witch must have a hand in this, returning to the place where it all began is surely her idea. I waited for a very long time and was already beginning to get exhausted. I decided that I was going to return home and come back tomorrow as there was nothing I could do against the six men that had brought her here. I have already made up my mind when like a miracle, I saw four of the men leaving the premises. It was already dark, and I know that they may not return today. Now I must devise a means to boycott the remaining men before anyone comes here. They were going to pass when one of them suddenly stopped and looked in my direction. Seeing this I ceased my breathing. It was a difficult task but if I could act dead he would not know that he had sensed a human. “What is the matter?” one of them asked him. “I can feel the presence of someone” he stopped, sniffed the air, and then said. “It is an animal, a very big one” “Are you sure?” one asked and they all looked in my direction. “I think so. Let’s go” he said. I was relieved but did not release my breath yet. I have to be sure that they are gone before I do so if not another one might perceive me and by then it will be impossible to conceal my presence from them. “There is no thinking here, our master always tells us this. Now let us take a look around” another voice said. I could not see them clearly but I know that they were coming in my direction. I shut my eyes and clenched my fist together. If I want to live, then I must conceal all traces of life in me. “That is the animal. I knew it was it” the man that had sensed me said. The rest did not listen to him but continued to look around. One came to where I was and kicked the leaves beneath. His act almost revealed me and if I had not taken my time to use more than enough leaves to cover myself then I would have been caught. I am glad I did the research about them. Soon they were gone. I waited until long after I stopped hearing their footsteps before I finally released my breath. For a moment, I thought I was going to pass out from holding my breath for over ten minutes. My wolf played a significant part in this. During that time we had to rely on her to keep us alive. After they were gone, I decided to wait for everywhere to get darker before I implement my plan to rescue Dawn.
